The DTCM has recently organized Dubai Road Shows in the Baltic and Nordic states as part of its enhanced efforts to promote and market the emirate as the leading business and leisure destination.
The road shows were held in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia from June 1 to 4. Six co-participants – Alpha Tours, Arabian Connection Tourism, Arabian Link Tours, Destinations of the World, Jebel Ali International Hotels and Royal Gulf Tourism – took part in the road shows.
Mr. Ali Abdul Wahab, Head of East & West Europe Region at DTCM's Overseas Promotions, met with representatives of Air Baltic. The airline will operate two weekly flights between Riga and Dubai from October 2009 to meet the growing passengers' demands. It started the Riga-Dubai route in October last year.
The road shows in Nordic region were held in Helsinki, Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm last month. There were nine co-participants – Alpha Tours, Atlantis The Palm, Arabian Adventures, Al Fajer Tourism, Travel and Cargo, Jebel Ali International Hotels, Radisson SAS Dubai Deira Creek, Dubai Marine Beach Resort and Spa, Etihad Airways and Arabian Explorer.
In Helsinki, Mr. Ali Abdul Wahab met with officials of Finnair who announced that the Finland's largest airline and flag carrier will increase its Helsinki-Dubai weekly flights frequency to three from two from next season.
