Southeast Asia’s real estate love affair between property developers and hotel brands is morphing into a feeding frenzy and with nearly 100 mainstream hotel residence projects plus over 21,000 units completed, the next three years is set to take the sector into bold new territory.

STR: Preliminary September data for Hong Kong hotels.

Hong Kong's hotel market reported positive performance in September, according to preliminary results from STR. Occupancy rose 0.5% to 86.6%, ADR increased 4% and RevPAR jumped 4.5%.

I asked the cashier if they had any spoons. He pointed to where they weren’t. I told him they were out, and in an effort to get rid of me, he suggested that I could go to the restaurant next store and ask them for a spoon.

I walked by the first restaurant a few minutes later and there were plenty of spoons. Obviously, there were spoons somewhere. The guy just didn’t want to get them, when a customer needed them.
