Readers of Britain's Sunday Times Travel magazine have "attested by an avalanche of votes for hotels in the chain" that Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, Asia Pacific's leading luxury hotel group, is their "Top Chain" worldwide for luxury accommodation.
Over 3,000 readers of the monthly magazine responded online to a call to vote for their favourite hotel, agency and destination by endorsing individually listed candidates and volunteering others.
Sunday Times Travel was launched in 2003 as an up-market consumer travel magazine, published under the auspices of the Sunday Times national newspaper.
"The typical Sunday Times Travel reader enjoys the finer things in life and is a sophisticated and seasoned traveller," says Editor Ed Grenby.
