Ritz Carlton Hotel Company has added an eighth location to its European portfolio, after it assumes management of an exclusive clifftop resort in Tenerife, Spain -The resort, Abama overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, and includes a luxurious selection of special features for guests seeking the ultimate leisure, group or incentive destination.
The expansive grounds of the resort, located in Guia de Isora on the west coast of Tenerife, includes lavishly decorated rooms and suites, as well as private villas with swimming pools. Recreational features range from a championship-designed golf course, beach club, spa, eight swimming pools, tennis club, ten restaurants, and extensive meeting and special event venues. Tennis fans will appreciate the seven flexi-plan courts at the Academia Sanchez Casal. A 26,500 square foot / 2,462 square meter wellness and spa Centre offers a relaxing retreat with treatments inspired by Tenerife's location close to the coast of North Africa. A tepedarium, African sauna, herbal steam bath, snow cabin and spa garden make The Abama Spa a memorable and pampering experience. Sun lovers can catch the tropical rays from the privacy of the Beach Club with its natural swimming pools, ocean views and La Gomera Island in the distance.
