Sydney comes out top for Aussies favourite travel destinations in the first half of 2007, according to statistics released by online accommodation reservation provider - HolidayCity.com
Perth's claim as the sunniest capital city in Australia is certainly a pulling factor with 12% of the total bookings made by Australians, putting it on the third spot on the list.
Overall, the number of total room bookings made by Australians from January to June 2007 increases 30% from the same period last year with an estimated AUD$2.06 million for total booking value.

Several European cities are also emerging as favourite travel destinations with Paris leading the way, followed by London and Vienna. The availability of direct flights to London from Sydney and the easy connection to the other two cities is certainly a contributing factor to their increased popularity.
