ITB Berlin and ICRT Global launch a CSR partnership and global scholarship opportunity for responsible tourism professionals.

Details will be unveiled at ITB Berlin, 3-5 March 2026.

ITB Berlin is further expanding its commitment to sustainable and socially responsible tourism: the International Centre for Responsible Tourism global (ICRT global) has become a new CSR partner of the World’s Leading Travel Trade Show.

At ITB Berlin 2026, ITB Berlin and ICRT global will jointly unveil a new international scholarship opportunity that will provide a cohort of global tourism professionals with free access to ICRT global’s online training courses.

The initiative aims to empower industry professionals to actively shape responsible tourism and create positive economic and social impact in destinations. Particular emphasis will be placed on candidates from the Global South as well as on geographical, sectoral and career-stage diversity.

The multi-week online courses on responsible tourism, rebalancing tourism and – from later in 2026 – creating economic impact, have been developed by with the support of easyJet holidays by world-leading expert emeritus professor Harold Goodwin who authored the 2002 Cape Town Declaration on Responsible Tourism. They are designed to inspire fresh thinking and support busy tourism professionals in strengthening their capacity to take responsibility for making destinations better places to live in and better places to visit.

As the leading global platform for the travel industry, ITB Berlin has long been committed to advancing dialogue on sustainability and social responsibility. The partnership with ICRT global represents a further milestone in this ongoing engagement.
