The Medical & Health Tourism Pavilion is expanding and will bring together international exhibitors, European partners and, for the first time, Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin at ITB Berlin.
New formats focusing on medical care, prevention and longevity will be introduced, complemented by networking opportunities, a dedicated stage programme and, for the first time, two awards.
Medical & Health Tourism has long been more than a trend. At ITB Berlin 2026 it will become clear how planned care abroad, specialised clinics, high-quality prevention and full medical regeneration are growing worldwide. The combination of medical expertise, evidence-based health products and tourist infrastructure makes this segment attractive for destinations, clinics and tour operators alike.
New exhibitors and international diversity in Hall 4.1
The pavilion remains the meeting place for healthcare partners, clinics, destinations, associations and the travel industry in Hall 4.1. Its aim is to highlight quality, trust and measurable added value for both travellers and patients. In 2026 the Medical & Health Tourism Pavilion in Hall 4.1 continues to grow and welcomes numerous new and long-standing partners: Crescent Meditours is bringing a network of 20 clinics from India to Berlin, Astana Tourism is represented by four clinics from Kazakhstan and is also asupporting partner of the Pavilion, and Health Croatia is taking part for the third year running, once again occupying a larger display and arriving with 12 healthcare partners from Croatia.
For the first time, Bulgaria has its own stand in the pavilion and is also a supporting partner of the Medical Pavilion. Another newcomer is the Health Tourism Association from Saudi Arabia. The Gremi Clinic from Albania and the Bangkok Hospital from Thailand are taking part again, underscoring the growing international importance of the segment.
Strong partners: thermal health, longevity and European health expertise
Together with new and established partners, ITB Berlin 2026 will focus even more on the areas where tourism and evidence-based healthcare overlap. For the first time in the pavilion, the European Historic Thermal Towns Association (EHTTA), a long-standing organisational partner and exhibitor at ITB Berlin, is presenting three new thermal destinations: Spa (Belgium), Baden (Switzerland) and Viterbo (Italy).
The European Spas Association (ESPA) is a regular exhibitor and organisational partner of ITB Berlin. It will be focusing on key future topics and examining the scientific background to current industry trends and buzzwords. A number of panels are scheduled, including Longevity, Regeneration & Prevention: Beyond the Buzzwords, which will look at the medically established role of thermal medicine in preventive care, natural remedies and climate therapy, as well as evidence from European spas.
In addition, the session entitled Nature-Based Health: From Trend to Treatment will highlight the shift from nature-based health products towards serious therapeutic approaches. They include green care and forest therapy, in which nature is used specifically to promote physical and mental health, the efficacy of which has been scientifically proven by studies on contact with nature.
This approach is augmented by established methods such as thalassotherapy, climate therapy and balneology. An alternative format is also featured with Digital Health Meets Thermal Health, which will discuss the connection between modern digital solutions and traditional healthcare. The Health Tourism Industry (HTI) is once again represented with its own stand. A new addition is the European Health & Medical Tourism Association (EHMTA), which will further boost international networking in this segment.

Charité is stage events programme partner for the first time
Marking a special highlight in 2026, Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin is for the first time the partner of the stage events programme in the Medical & Health Tourism Pavilion. It will give a presentation and also take part in a panel discussion highlighting its involvement in Saudi Arabia, a new exhibitor in the pavilion. For ITB Berlin, this partnership is important for targeting medical buyers who are intermediaries for patients and looking for reliable, trusted networks.
Awards in 2026: for the first time two Medical & Health Tourism awards
In another development signalling the growing importance of this segment, 2026 will for the first time witness the presentation of not one, but two awards, judged on strict criteria by an international jury. The ITB Medical Tourism Award 2026 goes to Visit Düsseldorf and the ITB Health Tourism Award 2026 to Italy.
