La Quinta Resort and Club as Managing Director.
Stan Kaminski has joined the
St. Regis Deer Crest Resort as General Manager, taking over from
Michael Hatzfeld. He was most recently at the
W San Diego as General Manager. He had previously served as General Manager for the
Sheraton Carlsbad Resort and Spa.
Mark Stiebeling has been named General Manager for the
Park Hyatt Aviara Resort, formerly the
Four Seasons Aviara. He was most recently the General Manager for the
Grand Hyatt and
Hyatt at Olive 8 hotels in Seattle. Previous posts include serving as General Manager for the
Park Hyatt San Francisco and the
Park Hyatt Washington D.C.John Culetsu has been appointed Executive Vice President and General Manager of the
Mount Airy Casino Resort. He had previously served as General Manager for the
Crowne Plaza Las Vegas and as Assistant General Manager for the
Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.
Yancy Sturgeon is the new General Manager for the
Hotel Parq Central in Albuquerque. He was most recently in Atlanta, overseeing the
Glenn Hotel. This is a return to the area for Sturgeon who previously served as General Manager at the
Andaluz. Previously, he had served as Hotel Manager at the
Hotel ZaZa in Dallas and Rooms Division Manager for the
Eldorado Hotel in Santa Fe.
Jerry Broz has joined the
Inn at Perry Cabin in Maryland as General Manager. He was most recently in Colorado for the
Grand Heritage Hotel Group as General Manager for the
Stanley Hotel in Estes Park. Previous General Manager stints include overseeing the
Cheeca Lodge, the
Inn at Palmetto Bluff and the
Georgian Terrace Hotel in Atlanta.
Ian Pullan is the new General Manager of the
Fairmont Waterfront in Vancouver, taking over from
Francis Parkinson who is retiring. Pullan was most recently the General Manager at the
Fairmont Orchid on the Big Island of Hawaii. He had previously served as Hotel Manager for the
Fairmont Royal York and General Manager at the
Fairmont Kansas City at the Plaza.
Wyndham has appointed
Dan Kornick Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. He was most recently the Senior Vice President of Global Applications Development for
Wyndham Exchange & Rentals.

Grand Geneva Resort & Spa in Wisconsin has appointed
Brett Sundstrom Managing Director. He had previously served as General Manager for the
Xona Resort Suites Scottsdale, the
Adam's Mark Tulsa and the
Doubletree Tulsa at Warren Place.
The
Luxe Sunset Boulevard has appointed
Reginald Archambault General Manager. Most recently, he was Property Manager at
Ocean Boulevard Properties in Santa Monica. He is no stranger to Bel-Air having previously served as Resident Manager at the
Hotel Bel-Air for three years, following eight years with
Four Seasons in various locations.

Marcos Casillas Vice President. Casillas was most recently the Vice President of Asset Management for
Trinity Hotel Investors and was formerly the Vice President of Operations and Asset Management at the
Woolley Hotel Company. He had previously served as General Manager for the
Karmina Palace in Mexico, the
Kea Lani Resort in Hawaii and
L'Auberge de Sedona.
Andrés Sanhueza has been named General Manager of the
Hotel Matilda in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. He was most recently part of the opening team for the
W Santiago as Assistant Director of Food and Beverage. Previously, he was the Director of Food and Beverage at
Casa Sierra Nevada and at the
Valle Nevado Ski Resort in Chile.
Jeff Lehman has been appointed General Manager of the
Betsy in South Beach. He was most recently the General Manager at the
Claridge on Miami Beach. He had previously served as Operations Manager for the
Miami Beach Ocean Resort and General Manager of the
National Hotel, also in Miami.
Colin Gold has been appointed General Manager of the
James New York. He was most recently in Miami as General Manager of the
Trump International Beach Resort. He had previously spent over ten years with
Hyatt, serving as Executive Assistant Manager of the
Hyatt Regency Jersey City and the
Stanhope Park Hyatt New York.
Bob Van Bergen has been named Managing Director of the

Diane Moore Executive Vice President based in Bellevue. Since 2005 she had been with

Topnotch Resort and Spa in Stowe has appointed
Aaron Black General Manager. He had previously served as Hotel Manager at the

Ritz-Carlton for fifteen years, most recently as Operations Manager for the
Ritz-Carlton Marina del Rey.

Michel Volk Resort Manager. Since 2008, he had been serving as Camp Manager at the

Harrah's New Orleans. Stuart had previously served as a Senior Financial Analyst at the hotel before relocating to England with

Langham Huntington, Pasadena has appointed
Chris Sullivan Director of Spa and Resort Services. He had joined the
Ritz-Carlton Huntington in 2006 as Assistant Rooms Executive and continued in that capacity through the hotel's transition with Langham. He was most recently serving as Director of Rooms for the property.
Donna Shaffer has been appointed Spa Director at the
Fairmont Sonoma. Formerly the founder of
Spectrum Fitness, she had previously overseen spa operations for the
Nashville YMCA,
Tiba Nu Nashville, the
Hilton San Francisco and
Peter Island.
Jim Croghan has been named Director of Spa and Recreation at the
Grand Del Mar. He was most recently the Director of Spa and Recreation for the
Island Hotel, holding the same position when the hotel was the
Four Seasons Newport Beach. He was previously the Director of Spa for the
Balboa Bay Club & Resort.
EUROPE Peripatetic Cornellian
Steven Goldman is joining
Starwood Capital as Chief Executive Officer of its French affiliate, the
Groupe du Louvre. Goldman had worked with Starwood founder
Barry Sternlicht for over ten years in the past and had played a major role in the group's uniquely fast growth. Following a stint as Executive Vice President of Development for
Global Hyatt, Goldman made a well publicized move to
Bob Alter's
Sunstone as Chief Executive Officer, only to leave a year later to join
Hilton, as President, Global Development & Real Estate. He had recently been on a leave of absence in the aftermath of the
Denizen controversy. In Paris, Goldman takes over not only for
Richard Gomel, who is being reassigned to Starwood Capital's home office, but also for
Frank Hébrard who passed away three months ago.
Yann Caillère was promoted to Chief Operating Officer by
Sofitel handling Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He is additionally directly responsible for development and construction worldwide. Caillère has been with
Accor since 2006. He is a former Chief Executive Officer of
Louvre Hotels and of
Disneyland Resort Paris.
Kees Kramer has bee appointed General Manager of the
InterContinental Prague, taking over from
Robert Herr. Kramer was most recently the General Manager of the
InterContinental Kiev. He had previously served as General Manager of the
InterContinental Tashkent, the
Crowne Plaza and
Holiday Inn Istanbul, and the
Crowne Plaza Amsterdam City Centre.
Lausanne grad
Nathalie Seiler Hayez is now running the
Connaught, taking over for
Anthony Lee. She previously managed the
Regent of Bordeaux and the
Radisson SAS Champs Elysées.

Rick Schulthesis General Manager. He was most recently at the

Michael Voigt has been named Hotel Manager for the
Pennyhill Park and Spa in Surrey. For the past two years, he had held the title of Hotel Manager at the

Knut Wylde has joined

St. Pancras Hotel London, slated to reopen next March. He was most recently serving as Director of Hotel Operations at the

Emmanuel Dissez has relocated to London to join the asset management department for
Westmont Hospitality. He had previously served two years as Head of Hospitality Asset Management for

Anne-Marie Cambourieu joins as Director of Human Resources, Worldwide and a member of the company's Executive Committee. She was previously the Director of Human Resources at

Adrian Messerli has been promoted to Food and Beverage Director joining the
Four Seasons Ritz Lisbon. Since 2008, he had been serving as Assistant Director of Food and Beverage for the
Four Seasons Carmelo, Uruguay.
Richard Vuillermin is the newly appointed Director of Food and Beverage of Paris'
Hotel du Louvre. He joins following ten years at sister property the
Hotel Martinez in Cannes.
Andre Devillers has moved to Paris to take over as Director of Sales and Marketing for the
Mandarin Oriental Paris, scheduled to open mid-2011. For the past five years, he had been at the
Four Seasons Provence at Terre Blanche, most recently as Director of Marketing.
At Paris' prestigious
Restaurant Lasserre, Two-Michelin-Starred Chef
Jean-Louis Nomicos is leaving after nine years. His successor is none other than Three-Michelin-Starred Chef
Christophe Moret, who comes from
Alain Ducasse at the Plaza-
Athénée.
Neal Dove has been named Head Chef at
Von Essen's
Hotel Verta in London. He was most recently at the
Forbury Hotel in Reading as Executive Chef.
The
Plateau restaurant in Canary Wharf has appointed
Allan Pickett Head Chef. He was most recently overseeing the kitchen at the
Orrery in Marylebone, where he held One Michelin star.
Christophe David has joined the
Grand Kempinski in Geneva as Executive Chef. For the past thirteen years, he had been with
Hyatt, most recently as Executive Chef for the
Park Hyatt Chicago. He had previously served as Executive Chef at the
Park Hyatt Vendôme in Paris and the

Hotel du Louvre,
Denis Bellon is named Executive Chef. He previously held a similar position at the
Hotel Millenium Opera, following two years at the
InterContinental Beirut.
Jean-Paul Naquin has joined the prestigious
Institut Paul Bocuse in Lyon as Culinary Instructor. He was most recently serving as Director of Culinary Operations at the
Mardan Palace in Turkey. Previously, he had served as Executive Chef for the
Burj Al Arab,
Raffles Singapore and the
Ritz-Carlton Seoul.
The
Thistle Glasgow has appointed
Billy Campbell Executive Chef. Most recently, he was the Executive Chef at the
Fairmont St. Andrews.
Claire Clark is heading back to the UK to launch a pop-up patisserie at
Harvey Nichols. She had previously served as Pastry Chef at the
Wolseley in London before moving in the same position to
Thomas Keller's
French Laundry in Napa. Her Executive Pastry Chef stints include the
Langham London and, most recently,
Sandy Lane on Barbados.
Claire Heitzler, formerly of the
Ritz in Paris, becomes the Pastry Chef at
Restaurant Lasserre.
Gerald Hardy who had been the General Manager of the
Château de La Messardière in St. Tropez, has died. Prior to joining the Chateau, Hardy successfully opened
Guanahani in St. Barts, following several years with
Méridien Hotels.
Jean-Pierre Allais, who was the author of the weekly e-newsletter for the CDRE for many years, passed away in August. His last position in the industry was that of Director of Food and Beverage at the
Royal Monceau.
ASIA AND THE PACIFIC Victor Clavell has been promoted with the
Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company to Area Vice President Asia Pacific, based in Shanghai. He has been with the company since 1992, most recently as Regional Vice President for Europe.
Christine Hodder has joined
Regent International Hotels as Vice President, based in Taiwan. She was most recently at the
Puli Hotel in Shanghai as General Manager. She had previously served as General Manager for the
Amara on Sentosa Island and in the same position for the
Milestone in London.
Cornell graduate
Jason Friedman will be the opening General Manager of the
Siam hotel in Bangkok. His most recent stint was as General Manager of
Qualia on Australia's Hamilton Island, after serving as General Manager of the
Four Seasons Tented Camp in Chiang Rai, Thailand.
Rajiv Malhotra has been named General Manager of the
Four Seasons Bora Bora, taking over for
Sébastien Carre now in Sharm El Sheikh. Malhotra, a Cornell graduate, was most recently the Hotel Manager at the
Four Seasons Las Vegas. He had previously served as Director of Rooms at the
Four Seasons Biltmore and Resort Manager at the
Four Seasons Great Exuma.
Rodolphe Gay has been named General Manager at the
Luang Say Residence in Luang Prabang. He had previously served as General Manager for the
Palm Beach Club in Phuket, Resident Manager for the
Alila Phuket and Director of Food and Beverage at the
Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi in Chiang Mai.
Paul Jackson has been appointed General Manager of the
Mandarin Oriental Sanya. He joined the company in 2006 as Executive Assistant Manager, Food and Beverage, at the
Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong before being promoted to Resident Manager at the
Mandarin Oriental Bangkok in 2008. He had previously held a variety of roles with the
Savoy Hotel Group, the
Royal Household and the
Ritz London.
Yonatan Kachko has joined the
Four Seasons Tented Camp at the Golden Triangle as Camp Manager to replace
Michel Volk. Kachko was most recently the Director of Rooms at the
Four Seasons Maldives at Landaa Giravaaru.
Uday Rao has been named General Manager at the
Viceroy Maldives. He was most recently the Hotel Manager for the
Four Seasons Mumbai. Previous positions include Director of Rooms at the
Four Seasons Singapore and at the
Four Seasons Maldives.
Jan Tibaldi has been named General Manager for
Udaivilas in India, replacing
Torste Van Dullemen. Tibaldi was most recently the Managing Director for both the
Viceroy Anguilla and the
Tides Anguilla for the
Kor Group. He had previously served as General Manager for the
One&Only Le Saint Géran in Mauritius and the
One&Only Kanuhura in the Maldives. His successor at the Viceroy Anguilla is
Jeff David.
Johnson Zhang has been named General Manager of the
Sofitel Wanda Ningbo. He was most recently the General Manager of the
Holiday Inn City Centre in Harbin.
The
Harbour Plaza Hotel Chongqing has appointed
Peter Wong General Manager. He was most recently serving in the same position for the
Shama Luxe Grand Central in Dalian.
Jordan Xu has been appointed General Manager of the
Shangri-La Changchun. He was most recently with the
Traders Hotel, Shenyang, in a similar position.
Nathalie Porta d'Amman has joined the
Komandoo Resort in the Maldives as General Manager. She had previously served as Vice President, Global Brand Management, for
Le Méridien – Starwood Hotels & Resorts and as General Manager of the
Hotel Casa Camper Barcelona.
The
Renaissance Wuhan Hotel has appointed
Daniel Lai General Manager. He was most recently serving as General Manager of the
Beijing Marriott Hotel West.
Khun Chutima Ruangritrawee has taken over as Managing Director of both the
Rayavadee, Krabi and
Tamarind Village Chiang Mai. For the past three years, she had been with
Six Senses, overseeing the
Soneva Kiri, Koh Kood. She was previously the pre-opening General Manager of the
AKA Resort Hua Hin.
Roger Wright is the new General Manager of the
Leela Kempinski Gurgaon in Delhi. He was most recently the General Manager for the
Hayman Great Barrier Reef in Queensland, Australia. He had previously served as General Manager at the
Hyatt Regency Mumbai.
Gregor Wateler has been appointed General Manager of the
Shangri-La Ningbo in China. He was most recently serving in a similar position for the
Shangri-La Changchun.
Vincent Pimont has been promoted at the
Peninsula Beijing to the position of Resident Manager. He had joined the hotel in 2007 as Director of Rooms. He had previously served in various positions for the
InterContinental Thalasso Spa in Bora Bora and the
Grand Hotel InterContinental in Paris.
The
Four Seasons Resorts Lanai has appointed
Philip Clough Director of Food and Beverage. He was most recently in the same position for the
Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch.
Kirk Pierpoint has been named Director of Engineering of the
Kauai Marriott Resort and
Kauai Lagoons. He had previously spent fifteen years in
Marriott's architecture and construction division, and most recently served as a site project manager for the nine-month renovation of the resort.
The
Pan Pacific Hotels Group has appointed
Joo Lin Director, Resourcing and Staffing, based in Singapore. She was most recently the Regional Director of People Management in China for
Kempinski Hotels.
Langham Hotels has appointed
Justine Lee to the newly-created role of Director of Sales – China. She had previously overseen sales and marketing for the
Shanghai JC Mandarin, the
Holiday Inn Beijing Moon River and the
Crowne Plaza Sun Palace Beijing.
The
Pan Pacific Hotels Group has appointed
Stanley Ng Director, Global Sales, South Asia, based in Singapore. He was previously a Manager Global Sales with
Starwood Hotels and Resorts.
Stephanie Choi has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing at the
Westin Guangzhou. She was most recently the Director of Sales and Marketing for the
Sheraton Langkawi Resort and had previously held the same position for the
Sheraton Haikou Resort.
Pan Pacific has appointed
Angie Ho Director of Online Marketing. She had previously served as Digital Director at
Batey Ads and had held similar roles at
OgilvyOne Worldwide,
eBay and
Saatchi & Saatchi.
The
St. Regis Lhasa Resort and
Four Points by Sheraton Lhasa has appointed
Elfa Cleofe Complex Director of Sales and Marketing. Cleofe had previously served as Director of Sales and Marketing for the
Hotel Palomar Arlington at Waterview and as Director of Sales at the
Four Seasons Philadelphia.
Nina Colls has rejoined
Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong to oversee public relations. She had previously served as Director of Communications for the company before taking on the post of Director of Marketing Communications for the
Hyatt Regency The Churchill and, most recently, Director of Communications for
Brown's Hotel in London.
At the
Park Hyatt Tokyo,
Nadine Waechter has been promoted to Executive Chef. She had been the Chef de Cuisine of the hotel's
New York Grill since 2008. As Executive Chef, she takes over from
Stefan Moerth, who stays with Hyatt but transfers to Korea. Prior to joining Hyatt, Waechter was the chef at
Lizard Island in Australia.
Conny Andersson has been appointed Executive Chef at the
Datai Hotel, Langkawi. For the past year, he had been at
Sandy Lane, Barbados, as Executive Chef.
The
Four Seasons Maldives Kuda Huraa has named
Laurent Varachaud Executive Chef. He was most recently overseeing the kitchen for the
Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong and previously the Executive Sous Chef at the
Burj Al Arab in Dubai.
Nicolas Socquet has joined
Maison Boulud in Beijing as General Manager. He was most recently overseeing
Bord Eau at the
Shangri-La Abu Dhabi. He had previously spent three years in various food and beverage position for
Four Seasons in Toronto, Costa Rica and Washington, D.C.
MIDDLE EAST AND AFRICA Pascal Duchauffour has added Europe and Africa to his role as Area Vice President Middle East with
Ritz-Carlton. He joined the company in 1991 as a Concierge at the
Ritz-Carlton San Francisco. He had previously served as Resident Manager at the
Ritz-Carlton Milennia, Singapore and General Manager for the
Ritz-Carlton Bahrain.
Tareq Derbas has joined the
St. Regis Doha as General Manager. He was most recently the General Manager for
Le Méridien Amman. Previous posts include Hotel Manager at the
Four Seasons Ryiadh and the
Four Seasons Amman.
Kenya's
Solio Lodge has appointed
Ava Paton opening General Manager. Paton had held various positions at a number of camps and lodges in Kenya including
Loisaba,
Elsa's Kopje,
Shompole and the
Rhino River Camp.
Ivor Prestwood has joined the
Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi as General Manager. He was previously the General Manager at the
Crowne Plaza Bahrain and Hotel Manager at the
Crowne Plaza Dubai.
David Todd has been named General Manager at the
InterContinental West Bay in Doha. He was most recently in the same position for the
Crowne Plaza Muscat in Oman.
Le Méridien Amman has named
Giuseppe Ressa General Manager. He had previously served as General Manager of
Le Méridien Nirwana Bali, the
Sheraton Langkawi Beach Resort and the
Sheraton Moorea Lagoon Resort and Spa.
Patrice Aira has been promoted to Resort Manager at the
Four Seasons Mauritius at Anahita. He joined the resort in 2007 as Director of Food and Beverage and had held various positions for the company in Palm Beach, Toronto and Sharm El Sheikh.
Luciano Scelza is the new Director of Food and Beverage for the soon-to-open
JW Marriott Tripoli. He was previously the Executive Assistant Manager - Food and Beverage, for the
Ritz-Carlton Sharq Village and Director of Food and Beverage for the
Cairo Marriott in Egypt.
The
Al Murooj Rotana has appointed
Philippe Harb Director of Food and Beverage. He was most recently the Food and Beverage Manager at
Al Ain Rotana.
The
Sheraton Doha Resort & Convention Hotel has appointed
Khaled Nabil Director of Sales and Marketing. He was most recently with the
Sheraton Dammam in Saudi Arabia in the same position.
Michael Clinton has been appointed Executive Chef of the
Park Hyatt Dubai. For the past two years, he had been at the
Grand Hyatt Singapore as Executive Sous Chef.
Kenya's
Solio Lodge has named
Joseph Mbugi Karobia opening Head Chef. He had previously worked in both the bakery and pastry departments at the
Atlantis Palm Jumeirah.
Tamer Labib has transferred as Director of Rooms to the
Four Seasons Beirut. He was most recently in the same position at the
Four Seasons Cairo Nile Plaza.
