THE AMERICAS

Edgar B. Stern Jr., has died. He was 86. Known to most people as the man who helped put Utah skiing on the world map by creating Deer Valley Resort, he was also the man who created San Francisco's legendary Stanford Court with Hotelier James Nassikas. There, relying on Nassikas' proven expertise (they had already done a project together in New Orleans) he allowed the creation of a unique luxury hotel.

The Morgans Hotel Group has named JP Oliver Regional Vice President, Miami and General Manager of Delano in South Beach. He joins from LXR Hotels & Resorts where he was most recently the Vice President and Managing Director of Puerto Rico, responsible for operations at the El San Juan Hotel & Casino, El Conquistador Resort & Casino, and the Condado Plaza Hotel & Casino.

Mark Tamis has been named President for Schrager Hotels in New York. He was most recently the Regional Vice President and General Manager of the Delano in Miami Beach. He had previously served in management positions at the former Four Seasons Newport Beach, the Four Seasons Nevis and the Four Seasons Santa Barbara.

Elegant Hotels Group has named Yomi Mapp General Manager of the House in Barbados. She was most recently at Barbados' Sandy Lane Hotel and had held positions at the Turtle Beach Resort and Daphne's Restaurant.

Alistair MacLean has left André Balazs to join the Hotel NoMad in New York as Managing Director. He will open this new boutique hotel next year with former Hotels AB colleagues Michael Rawson and Andrew Zobler. MacLean was with André Balazs Properties for seven years, most recently serving as General Manager for both the Raleigh Miami and the Sunset Beach.
 
The Gaylord National in Washington D.C. has named Phil Coffey Senior Vice President and General Manager, replacing Sheldon Suga, who has left the company. Coffey was most recently at the helm of the Marriott Orlando World Center.

Allen Highfield has been named General Manager of the Ritz-Carlton Highlands Lake Tahoe.  He had previously served as General Manager of the Ritz-Carlton Georgetown and Hotel Manager of the Ritz-Carlton New York, Battery Park.

Gregory Allowe has been appointed Managing Director of the Naples Bay Resort. He was most recently the President of GAP Hospitality Consulting in Colorado.  He had previously served as Vice President and Managing Director for the Townsend in Michigan, and as General Manager for the Nordic Hills Resort in Illinois.

David Chase is the General Manager of the Trump Soho. For the past two years, he had served as Hotel Manager at the Ritz-Carlton New York, Battery Park. Chase previously served as Area Director of Catering and Conference Services for the Ritz-Carlton Hotels of New York.

Matthew Sterne has been promoted to General Manager at the Fairmont Battery Wharf in Boston, slated to open by year's end. Sterne has been with the company for over twelve years, most recently as Hotel Manager at the Fairmont Scottsdale. He previously held various positions for the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn and Spa and the Fairmont Tremblant in Québec.

Peter Island in the British Virgin Islands has appointed Matt Balcik General Manager. Balcik was most recently the General Manager of the Westin Aruba Resort & Casino. He previously served as General Manager of the Westin St. John Resort & Villas.

Alan Stephens has joined the Talaris Conference Center in Seattle as General Manager. He was most recently the Executive Assistant Manager for the Salish Lodge.

The Hilton Whistler Resort & Spa has appointed Stephen Webb General Manager. He was most recently serving as Vice President of Operations for Stone Creek Resorts in Calgary.
 
Brian Cunningham has joined Boutique Hotels & Resorts in Miami as President. He was previously a Vice President with NCR Corporation and had held management positions with KPMG Consulting/BearingPoint and Unisys Public Services.

Anthony Rodio has been named General Manager of the Argosy Casino Lawrenceburg. He was most recently serving as Regional President and Chief Operating Officer of both the Atlantic City Hilton and Resorts Atlantic City.

Sandra Grisham-Clothier has been named Chief Operating Officer of Gorda Estates Limited, the holding company for the Bitter End Yacht Club and North Sound Express. For the past four years, she had held the position of General Director of Peter Island Resort. She was previously the Managing Director of Bitter End Yacht Club before serving in various positions at Little Dix Bay and the Lodge at Rancho Mirage.

John Luckett has been named General Manager at the Bohemian Hotel Asheville at Biltmore Village, slated to open this winter. Luckett was most recently the General Manager of La Posada de Santa Fe. He had previously served as General Manager of the Keystone Lodge in Colorado and held numerous positions with Adam's Mark Hotels and Hyatt. 

Glennon Travis is the new General Manager of the Jane in New York. The Cornell graduate was most recently with the Hotel Chelsea as Director of Operations. He had previously overseen front office operations for the Hotel on Rivington in addition to the Soho Grand and Tribeca Grand.

Lausanne graduate Silvia Tenorio has joined Mexico City's Las Alcobas as Hotel Manager. For the past two years, she had been with Rosewood Hotels and Resorts, most recently as Assistant Executive Housekeeper at the Rosewood Mayakoba. She was previously in the same position at the Carlyle New York.

Joel Freyberg has joined New York's soon-to-open Chatwal as General Manager. For the past two years, he had been the Executive Director of the Waldorf Towers. He had previously served in various management positions with the Hotel Gansevoort, the Carlyle and the Mayfair Regent.

The Four Seasons New York has appointed Pascal Forotti Hotel Manager. For the past sixteen years, he had been with InterContinental Hotels, most recently as General Manager of the InterContinental Toronto Yorkville. Previously, he had held management positions at InterContinental hotels in Luxembourg, London, Amsterdam, Washington D.C., Atlanta and Chicago.

The Setai San Diego has named Steve Gomez Hotel Manager. Gomez was previously the Assistant General Manager at the Rancho Bernardo Inn and Director of Rooms at the Pebble Beach Resort.

Stefan Schmid has returned to the snow to serve as Hotel Manager for the Sonnenalp Resort in Vail. He was previously the Director of Food and Beverage for the Lodge at Vail before joining Four Seasons to serve in food and beverage management positions at the Four Seasons Tokyo at Chinzan-so and, most recently, the Four Seasons Buenos Aires.

Tina Moodie has joined the Sky Lodge in Park City as Resident Manager. She was most recently the Director of Operations at the just-opened Nines Hotel in Portlands. Moodie had previously been with the Oxford in Denver as Director of Operations, following several years at the Hotel Teatro, also in Denver.

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants has promoted Joe Capalbo to Hotel Manager of the Hotel Marlowe. He began his Kimpton career in 2004 as Guest Services Manager at the Hotel Marlowe. He had previously served as Director of Front Office at the hotel Nine Zero and, most recently, as Operations Manager at the Onyx Hotel.

Armando Guardiola has been named Director of Operations at the Ritz-Carlton Abaco Club in the Bahamas. He has been with the company since 1992, most recently at the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead, as Executive Assistant Manager/Director of Food and Beverage. He had previously served in various food and beverage positions for the Ritz-Carlton Reynolds Plantation, the Ritz-Carlton San Juan and the Ritz-Carlton Aspen.

Acqualina Resort & Spa on the Beach has appointed Sase Gjorsovski Resort Manager. He had previously managed restaurants in Miami, including Tuscan Steak, China Grill and the Blue Door at Delano.

Hilton Hotels has appointed Matthew Richardson Global Head of Architecture, Design and Construction. He joins Hilton from Host Hotels and Resorts where he was most recently serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer after joining the company in 1997.

Hilton has promoted Phil Keipper to Senior Vice President, Architecture and Construction - The Americas. Keipper is a 24-year veteran of Hilton who began his career with the company working in franchise project management in Atlanta. In 1995, Keipper led the design team that launched the Hilton Garden Inn brand in the United States.

Habib Enayetullah joins as Senior Vice President, Real Estate and Asset Management for Hilton Hotels. Enayetullah was most recently Senior Vice President - Development for Sunstone Hotel Investors. Previously, he had served as Vice President of Global Asset Management for Hyatt, as well as in various development roles for the Bechtel Group.

Paul Revill has been promoted at the Four Seasons corporate office to Director, Corporate Finance, taking over from Cathy Harris who has left the company after thirty years. Revill originally joined Four Seasons in the role of Manager, Taxation, and subsequently assumed the roles of Internal Auditor and Senior Internal Auditor.

André Balazs Properties has appointed Glyn Aeppel Chief Investment Officer. Aeppel was most recently the Executive Vice President, Acquisitions and Development, for Loews Hotels. She had previously held senior roles for Fairmont, Le Méridien, and Marriott.

Nelson Alvarez has joined Crestline Hotels and Resorts in Virginia as Regional Controller. For the past two years, he had served as Controller at the Inn at Little Washington. He had previously served as Director of Finance and Controller for Interstate Hotels & Resorts and Hyatt Hotels in Michigan, Massachusetts and Virginia.

Noreen Pailes has moved into a new role at the Woodlands Resort & Inn in South Carolina as Renovation Coordinator. She was most recently the Assistant General Manager for the resort after joining in 1998 as Rooms Division Manager. Brent Gresham takes over from Pailes as Assistant General Manager.

Shaun Beucler has transferred to the Ritz-Carlton Dove Mountain as Director of Food and Beverage. He was most recently in the same position at the Ritz-Carlton Naples and previously served as Assistant Director of Food and Beverage at the Ritz-Carlton St. Louis.

Nancy Paliani has transferred to the Ritz-Carlton Palm Beach as Director of Food and Beverage. She was most recently in the same position at the Ritz-Carlton Rancho Mirage, whose re-opening has been delayed. Paliani had previously served as Director of Food and Beverage at the Ritz-Carlton St. Thomas and La Costa in Carlsbad.

Toby Reivant has joined One&Only Palmilla as Restaurant Director. He will oversee the re-opening of their signature restaurant, Market by Jean-Georges. He was most recently with Royal Caribbean Cruises as Manager Food and Beverage Operations. He had previously overseen restaurant operations at Bistro Moderne in Houston, L'Auberge du Soleil, and the former St. Regis Los Angeles.

Benchmark Hospitality has appointed Alex Cabanas Vice President of Development and Strategy. He has been with the company since 2006, most recently serving as Vice President of Capital Markets. Prior to joining Benchmark, he was with the Boston Consulting Group, based in Dallas.

InterContinental Hotel Group has appointed Paul Snyder to the newly created role of Vice President, Development Brand Management & Marketing. He joined the company in 2003 as Director, Brand Marketing Performance Strategy & Planning and most recently served as Vice President, Operations Brand Management and Business Development.

Scott Russell has been promoted to Area Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, overseeing the Caribbean and Mexico. He was most recently the Vice President International Sales Offices in North America for the company, based in Washington D.C. He had previously served as Director of Sales and Marketing for the Ritz-Carlton New Orleans and the Ritz-Carlton Atlanta.

Fredric Nicholson has returned to Seattle to join the Edgewater as Director of Sales and Marketing. For the past four years, he had held the same position at sister property the Adolphus in Dallas, after serving as the Director of Group Sales at the Westin Seattle.

An Verbeeck has joined Ace Hotels as pre-opening Director of Sales for the Ace Hotel Palm Springs. After the slated opening in January 2009, she will then transition to the position of West Coast Area Director for all Ace Hotels. For the past two years, she had been with the Mondrian Los Angeles as Director of Sales.

The Eden Roc Renaissance Beach Resort & Spa in Miami Beach has named Mary Jo Ferrazza Director of Event Management. She was most recently the Director of Event Management at the Renaissance Chicago.

Marissa Duffy has transferred to the Ritz-Carlton Boston Common as Director of Entertainment and Leisure Sales. She was most recently at the Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia as Director of Sales Business Travel and Leisure.

Renee Tao has joined the Island Hotel in Newport Beach as Director of Transient Sales. She was most recently with Travcoa and TCS Expeditions as Director of Sales - Western US. Tao also spent seven years with Fairmont in a variety of sales positions.

Peter Island has promoted Christy Little to Sales and Marketing Manager. For the past four years, she had served as Revenue and Reservations Manager for the resort, based in its Atlanta offices.

Pamela Feick has been named Director of Sales and Marketing at the Pierre, a Taj Hotel. A former Director of Sales and Marketing at the Jefferson and the Sofitel Lafayette Square in Washington D.C., she spent the past several years as Director of Sales, East Coast for Casa del Mar and Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica.

The Ritz-Carlton Palm Beach has named Christine DiRocco Director of Public Relations. For the past nine years, she had served as the Director of Catering and Conference Manager for the Breakers.

Melissa Schumacher has joined the Peninsula Chicago as Catering Sales Manager. She was most recently at the Four Seasons St. Louis as Director of Catering and Conference Services. She had previously served in catering positions at the Four Seasons Palo Alto and the former Four Seasons Newport Beach.

Damon Gordon has been appointed Executive Chef at the soon-to-reopen Jefferson in Washington D.C. For the past two years, he had been in San Diego as Executive Chef at Damon Gordon's Quarter Kitchen at the Ivy Hotel. Previously, he spent seven years with China Grill Management, serving as Executive Chef for Ono at the Hotel Gansevoort, Mix New York, the Delano and the Royalton.

Claudio Rossi has moved over as Executive Chef to the Four Seasons Toronto. He joined the company in 2001 at the Four Seasons Shanghai and had previously served as the Executive Chef at the Four Seasons Chiang Mai and, most recently, the Regent Singapore.

Anthony Calamari has joined the Setai San Diego as Executive Chef. Most recently he was the Executive Chef at Cielo Restaurant at the Ventana Inn & Spa in Big Sur.

Sean Canavan has been named Executive Chef for the Left Bank Brasserie in Larkspur, taking over from Scott Howard. Canavan was most recently the Executive Chef at O'Reilly's Holy Grail. He had previously overseen the kitchens for Kokkari Estiatorio, Jeanty at Jack's, the Pacific Restaurant in the Pan Pacific Hotel, all in San Francisco.

Stéphane Becht has moved to New York as Executive Chef of the Pierre. For the past year, he had been with Norwegian Cruise Line in Miami as Corporate Executive Chef. He had previously overseen the kitchen for the Delano in Miami and the One&Only Ocean Club in the Bahamas.

Juan Licerio has been named Executive Chef at the Capella Ixtapa set to open in December. He had previously served with Ritz-Carlton in Half Moon Bay, Lake Las Vegas, and New Orleans. He was most recently the Executive Sous Chef at the Ritz-Carlton Cancun. 

Christian Schmidt has joined Terranea Resort as Executive Chef. For the past two years, he had been with Ginn Reunion Resorts in Orlando as Executive Chef. He had previously served as Executive Chef for the Mandarin Oriental Washington D.C., the Plaza (Fairmont) Hotel and the Mandarin Oriental New York.

Tarver King has been named Executive Chef at the Goodstone Inn & Estate in Virginia. He was most recently the Executive Chef at the Woodlands Resort & Inn in South Carolina.  He had also previously served as Chef de Partie at the Inn at Little Washington.

Michael Wilganowski has been appointed Executive Chef at the Osprey at Beaver Creek, scheduled to open in December. He was most recently the Executive Chef at Trapper's Cabin, also in Beaver Creek.

Eric Scuiller is the new Executive Chef at the Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Resort in Cancun. For the past three years, he had served in the same position at the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman. He previously served as Executive Chef at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

Frédéric Morineau takes over for Scuiller as Executive Chef for the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman.  He was most recently in the same position at the Ritz-Carlton Sarasota and had previously overseen the kitchen at the Ritz-Carlton Atlanta and the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead.

Sébastien Archambault has been appointed Executive Chef for the Andaz West Hollywood (the former Hyatt on Sunset) slated to reopen in January. He was previously the Chef de Cuisine at the Michelin One-Star restaurant on Corsica, Le Pirate.

Olivier dall'Oglio has joined the One&Only Palmilla as Restaurant Manager for the soon-to-open Market by Jean-Georges. For the past two years, he had been at the Ritz-Carlton Cancun, most recently as Restaurant Manager at El Café Mexicano.

The Inn by the Sea in Maine has appointed Kevin Swanson as Food and Beverage Manager. He was most recently the Operations Manager for Wolfgang Puck Catering in Los Angeles.

La Casa de Sierra Nevada has appointed Hector Zatarain as Food and Beverage Manager. He was most recently the Assistant Food and Beverage Manager for the Orient-Express property, Maroma Resort and Spa.

Josef Wagner has moved over with the Wynn Las Vegas to return to Daniel Boulud Brasserie as General Manager. He was most recently overseeing Country Club for the hotel after serving as Assistant General Manager at Boulud. He had previously overseen Tableau, Alex (both at Wynn Las Vegas) and NoMI at the Park Hyatt Chicago.

Paul Quinn has joined Daniel Boulud to run his DB Bistro Moderne in Vancouver as General Manager. For the past two years, he had been with Danny Meyer's Eleven Madison Park in New York.

Ryan Crabbe has joined Wynn Resorts as opening Director of Spa Operations for Encore, scheduled to open in December. He had previously run spa operations for the Ritz-Carlton Miami South Beach, the Ritz-Carlton Tyson's Corner and the Ritz-Carlton Washington D.C.

Michelle Frye has joined the Setai San Diego as Spa Director. She was previously Spa Director at the Pacific Waters Spa at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach. Frye also served as Assistant Spa Director at the Grand Hyatt Kauai.

Melinda Milner has joined Terranea in Palos Verdes as Spa Director. For the past six years she had been in the same role for the Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay.

The Hyatt Regency Monterey has appointed Joe Herman Spa Director. Herman had served as Spa Director at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya since 2003 after joining the resort in 2000 as Executive Housekeeper.

Robert Vance has been appointed Spa Director at Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain. Prior to joining Sanctuary, Vance spent five years with the Golden Door brand, most recently as Spa Director of the Golden Door Spa at Naples Grande Beach Resort. Earlier, Vance was Spa Operations Manager at the Golden Door Spa at the Boulders Resort.

EUROPE

Hilton Hotels has promoted Simon Vincent to Area President, Europe. He joined the company last year as President of Hilton UK and Ireland. He takes over for Wolfgang Neumann who has decided to leave the company after twenty-four years. 

Geraldine Dobey has been appointed General Manager for the Hilton Arc de Triomphe Paris replacing Serge Ethuin, who is now the General Manager of the Rome Cavalieri. Dobey has worked for Hilton for thirteen years, most recently as General Manager of the Hilton Paris. She had previously served in various positions for the Langham Hilton, the Hilton Hyde Park and the Hilton London Park Lane. 

Goran Todorovic has been named General Manager of the Hotel Concorde Montparnasse in Paris. He is being promoted from the position of Director of Operations at the Hotel Concorde La Fayette. He also spent five years at the Sofitel Rive Gauche.

Also at the Concorde Montparnasse, Stéphane Gerent is appointed Director of Operations, following three years as Director of Food and Beverage at sister property, the Concorde Ambassador.

At Monaco's SBM, Tom Hawley has been appointed Director of Development. He joins from the Royal Bank of Scotland, the owner of over 350 hotels worldwide.

Robertson Stewart has been named Assistant General Manager of the Hotel Concorde La Fayette. He was most recently the Operations Manager for the Bristol Hotel in Warsaw, and had held various positions at the Méridien Etoile in Paris and EuroDisney.

Damien Marchenay has been appointed Director of Food and Beverage at the Hotel de Paris in Monaco. He had previously served in various food and beverage positions at the Warwick Barsey Brussels, the Raffles Hotel and the Park Hyatt Paris.

Frédéric Giraud is the new Executive Chef at Paris' Hotel Warwick Champs Elysées. He comes from L'Escargot Montorgueil, and previously was the Sous Chef at the Relais de Sèvres, also in Paris.

ASIA AND THE PACIFIC

Martin Rinck has been appointed President, Hilton Hotels Corporation - Asia Pacific, based in Singapore, succeeding Koos Klein. Rinck joins Hilton from Carlson Hotels where he had been President and Managing Director of Carlson Hotels Worldwide – Asia Pacific since 2007. He had previously served in executive roles with the Rezidor Hotel Group, Mövenpick Gastronomy International and the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group in Indonesia, Germany, Portugal, France, the UK and the USA.

Michael Sagild has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Stein Management Co. International, following the recent investment by the KOP Group, Singapore. Sagild, a Dane with a Lausanne hospitality degree, was previously the Chief Operating Officer of Bangkok-based Minor Group, following five years as Managing Director, Asia-Pacific for Le Méridien Hotels and Resorts.

Also with Stein, Thierry Naidu gets promoted to the position of Chief Operating Officer. He originally joined the group in 2003, following ten years as General Manager of the Relais & Château La Chèvre d'Or in Eze.

Outrigger Enterprises Group has named Darren Edmonstone Senior Vice President – Asia based in Phuket. He joined the company in 2005 as Vice President of Acquisitions and Development. He had previously worked with Shanghai Hotels Limited, the owners of the Peninsula Group, in a number of senior management positions in Vietnam, Thailand and Hong Kong.

Philippe Caretti has joined Kempinski Hotels and Resorts in Beijing as Vice President Operations China. Earlier this year, he briefly had returned to Jakarta to rejoin the Mulia Hotel Group as Senior Vice President. A graduate of Lausanne, he was previously the General Manager for the Hotel Mulia Senayan in Jakarta before serving with Wynn Las Vegas as Senior Vice President/General Manager of Resort Operations. In addition, he had held various key positions with Shangri-La for thirteen years, including that of Area Vice President and General Manager of the Shangri-La Makati in Manila.

Stéphane Delamotte has joined the St. Regis Bora Bora as General Manager. He was until recently the General Manager for the Sunset Beach Private Club in Saudi Arabia. He had previously served as the General Manager at the Ananyana Resort & Spa Panglao Island, Director of Food and Beverage for the Shangri-La Mactan Island Resort & Spa, and Resident Manager for the Beau Rivage in Mauritius.

Jonathan Crook has been promoted to General Manager of the Peninsula Manila. He had been the Hotel Manager at the newly-opened Peninsula Tokyo for a mere ten months, following a two-year stint at the Peninsula Beijing. In Manila, he takes over from Vlad Reyes.

Don Li has been promoted to Regional Vice President of Development in China and Japan, by Wyndham. He previously served the company as Director of Development in China and Japan, a position he was promoted to after serving two years as Director of Development in China. Prior to joining Wyndham, Li served in operations positions for Marriott.

Michael Nagel has been appointed General Manager of the Hilton Beijing. He has beeen with the company for thirty four years in such locations as Tehran, Petaling Jaya, Trinidad, Manila, Nagoya, Osaka, Singapore, Taipei, and Seoul.

Brice Borin returns to the Maldives as General Manager for the Regent Maldives. He was previously the Hotel Manager for the Anantara Resort Maldives before transferring to his most recent position as Hotel Manager for the Anantara Resort Hua Hin.

Dean Seo has rejoined the Mandarin Oriental Macau as Director of Food and Beverage. Seo previously held the position before taking on his most recent role with the Ritz-Carlton Jakarta as Executive Assistant Manager, Food and Beverage.

Michael Luible has been named General Manager of the Capella Singapore slated to open March 2009. For the past six years, he had been part of Kerzner International's leadership team, most recently serving as Regional Director of One&Only Indian Ocean. During his tenure, he also served as Senior General Manager of One&Only Maldives and General Manager of One&Only Reethi Rah. He had previously held the post of General Manager for the Raffles Hotel Singapore and Le Touessrok Hotel Mauritius.

Melvin Lim has been appointed General Manager of the Orchard Hotel Singapore. He was most recently the General Manager of the M Hotel in Singapore.

René Peter has moved to the Pangu Seven Star Hotel in Beijing as General Manager, taking over after Scott Mawhinney left at the beginning of the summer. Peter was most recently the General Manager-Hospitality for Tanggula Railtours Limited. He had previously served as General Manager for Silversea Cruises and the World at Residensea.

Joseph Chong has joined the Peninsula Shanghai as Hotel Manager. He was most recently the Resident Manager at the Peninsula Bangkok. He had previously held various positions with Regent and Four Seasons properties in Bangkok, Jakarta, Bali and Singapore.

The Swissôtel Grand, Shanghai has named Julian van den Bogaerde General Manager. He was most recently based in the head office of Swissôtel in Zurich as General Manager. He had previously served in various positions at the Swissôtel Nai Lert Park and at the Swissôtel Amsterdam.

Christian Schaufelbuehl has joined the Swissôtel Nankai Osaka as General Manager. Since 2005, he had been the General Manager of the Swissôtel Merchant Court, Singapore. He joined Swissôtel in 1996, serving in posts in Zurich and Sydney before his move to Singapore.

Rainer Tenius has been appointed General Manager of the Swissôtel Merchant Court, Singapore. For the past year, he had held the position of General Manager at the Swissôtel Kunshan, in China. He has been with the company for eighteen years and had held the title of General Manager for the Swissôtel Cairo El Salam, the Swissôtel Zurich, the Swissôtel The Celik Palas, and the Swissôtel Düsseldorf.

The Swissôtel Kunshan has appointed Daniel Chen Director of Operations. Most recently, he was with the Mayfair Hotel in Shanghai as Director of Food and Beverage.

Raj Mohan has joined the Beijing Marriott Northeast as pre-opening Director of Food and Beverage. He has been with Marriott for the past seven years, most recently at the Renaissance Kowloon, Hong Kong as Director of Food and Beverage.

Moky Lam has joined the Peninsula Shanghai as Executive Assistant Manager, Food and Beverage. He was most recently in the same position for the Peninsula Bangkok and was previously in charge of food and beverage at the Peninsula Hong Kong.

Fabrice Blondeau has joined Sofitel Asia Pacific, based in Bangkok, as Vice President Food and Beverage. For the past two years, he had held the title of Executive Assistant Manager at Raffles Singapore. He had previously held various food and beverage management positions for the Grand Hyatt Tokyo, the Park Hyatt Paris Vendôme and the Four Seasons George Cinq. Blondeau was also the opening Hotel Manager at the Bora Bora Nui Resort for Starwood.

Guillaume Paupy has been named Director of Food and Beverage at the Four Seasons Singapore. He most recently held the same position at the Grand Hyatt Sao Paulo. Paupy had previously served in various food and beverage positions at the Park Hyatt Tokyo and the Grand Hyatt Singapore.

Raghu Menon has been promoted to Assistant Executive Manager Food and Beverage at the Ritz-Carlton, Jakarta. He was most recently the Director of Food and Beverage at the Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place.

The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place has appointed Patrick Weder as Director of Food and Beverage, replacing Raghu Menon. Weder was most recently the Director of Food and Beverage at the Ritz-Carlton Dubai. He had previously served in various food and beverage positions for the Ritz-Carlton Cancun and the Ritz-Carlton Portman Shanghai.
 
The Hotel Hana-Maui and Honua Spa has appointed Keith Mallini Food and Beverage Director. He was most recently in the same position at the Westin Moana Surfrider in Waikiki.

Antony Wong will join the Peninsula Shanghai as Executive Assistant Manager, Rooms. He was most recently in the corporate offices for Peninsula Hotels as Senior Assistant Manager, Operations Planning and Support.
 
Samantha Walder has returned to the Four Seasons Sydney as Director of Human Resources. She previously served at the hotel as Director of Human Resources before moving over to her most recent position at the Four Seasons Los Angeles as Director of Human Resources.

Veronica Tan has been appointed Director of Human Resources of the Capella Singapore. Tan had previously served in the same position for the St. Regis Singapore and Le Méridien Singapore.

Langham Hotels has appointed Bob van den Oord Vice President Sales and Marketing. He previously served as the General Manager of the Eaton Hong Kong.

The Conrad Bangkok has appointed Craig Bonnor to the role of Director of Business Development. He was formerly the Director of Business Development at the Hilton Auckland and the Millennium Hilton Bangkok.

The Ritz-Carlton Tokyo has appointed Linda Beltran Director of Public Relations. She had previously handled the public relations efforts for the Fairmont Newport Beach and Woodside Hotels.

The Conrad Maldives Rangali Island has appointed David Laval as Executive Chef. He had gained his culinary experience in the kitchens of the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo and the Fairmont Southampton Resort in Bermuda.

Langham Hotels has appointed Barry White Director of Spa Operations. He was most recently Chuan Spa Director at Langham Place, Mongkok, Hong Kong.

MIDDLE EAST AND AFRICA

Taj Hotels, Resorts and Palaces has appointed Helmut Meckelburg Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa based in Dubai. He has been with Taj Hotels since 2001 and had served as General Manager and later Area Director in India, before moving to Dubai as General Manager for the Taj Palace Hotel.

Mauritius-based Apavou Hotel Group has appointed Jean-Luc Helary Group General Manager. Most recently, Helary was a Regional Director of Club Med, in charge of eleven properties in Morocco, Tunsia and Mauritius. He previously spent twenty years in regional positions with Accor.

Renato Moretto has been appointed General Manager of the Regency Hotel Kuwait. He was most recently with the Sonesta Pharaoh Beach Resort Hurghada on the Red Sea as General Manager. Previously, he had served as General Manager at the Sonesta Great Bay Beach Resort & Casino on St. Maarten.

Alexander Musch has joined the Jeddah Hilton as Director of Operations. He was most recently the Resident Manager at the Miramar Al Aqah Beach Resort.

Tauseen Malik has moved to Saudi Arabia as Executive Assistant Manager of the Sunset Beach Resort and Spa. He had previously served in various food and beverage positions at the Westin Bonaventure, the Glendale Hilton and the Sedona Rouge Hotel & Spa.
