THE AMERICAS

Steven Marx is joining Sage Hospitality in Denver as Chief Operating Officer. He was most recently the Principal and Chief Executive Officer of Lifestyle Hospitality. Marx previously served as Chief Operating Officer with James Hotels in New York, and as Senior Vice President with W Hotels Worldwide.

Mike Murray has joined Hersha Hospitality Management as Chief Operating Officer. He previously spent several years as Senior Vice President for Sage Hospitality Resources.

Brad Wilson has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer of the Denihan Hospitality Group in New York. Wilson joined DHG earlier this year as Executive Vice President-Operations, when DHG acquired The James hotel brand, of which Wilson was formerly Chief Executive Officer. He had previously served as Vice President of Operations for W Hotels Worldwide and in various leadership roles with Park Hyatt, Hilton International and Westin. 

Cornell (and Harvard) graduate Christian Hempell has stepped into the newly created position of Vice President, Holiday Inn Club Vacations, for the InterContinental Hotels Group. For the past five years, he served as Vice President, Strategy, the Americas, after joining IHG in 2003 as Vice President, Global Strategy, based in the U.K. Hempell will be succeeded by Heather Balsley, who was most recently serving as Director, Strategy, the Americas.

Olivier Poirot has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer for Motel 6/Studio 6 and Chief Operating Officer for Accor North America. He joined Accor in 1992 and, since 2007, had been in charge of Motel 6/Studio 6 in the USA, Canada, Mexico.

Matthew Avril, currently Co-President of Starwood Vacation Ownership, has been promoted to President of Starwood's Hotel Group. He succeeds Matt Ouimet, who is leaving the company.

Hilton Hotels has promoted Daniel Hughes to Senior Vice President, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Latin America. He has been with Hilton for over twenty years, most recently as Area Vice President, Caribbean, Central America, and Cancun.

Jim Sullivan, Executive Vice President, Lodging Development, with Marriott International, will retire April 2009. Sullivan is succeeded by Tony Capuano who is currently responsible at Marriott for full service hotel development across North America, the Caribbean and Latin America.

Pamela Suhr has joined New York-based Denihan Hospitality Group as Senior Vice President, Operations. Most recently, Suhr was Chief Operating Officer of Crescent Hotels and Resorts and had previously held senior positions with HEI Hotels and Resorts, and Interstate Hotels and Resorts.

Jeff Yamaguchi has joined the Roco Ki Club in the Dominican Republic as Vice President and General Manager. He was most recently based in Las Vegas as Executive Vice President and Principal for Global Resorts, Inc. He previously served as Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing at Chileno Bay Development and Chief Operations Officer for the Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group.

Monica Neumann has been named General Manager of the Regent Palms Turks and Caicos. She was most recently the Director of Operations and Director of Quality Integration and Training for Regent Hotels. In addition, she has held several senior management positions with Hyatt Hotels including General Manager of the Hyatt Regency Coral Gables, the Hyatt Newporter Hotel in Newport Beach and what has since become Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica.

Roger Soane has transferred as General Manager to the Fairmont Chateau Whistler. Since 2005, he had been the General Manager at the Fairmont Empress. He previously served as Hotel Manager at the Fairmont Banff Springs and General Manager at the Fairmont Palliser and the Fairmont Royal Pavilion.

Kevin Williams has been named General Manager at the Ritz-Carlton Club and Residences San Francisco. He joins from the Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay, where he was both Director of Meetings and Special Events and Acting Hotel Manager since 2006. He also held positions at the W San Francisco, the Boston Marriott Copley Place, the New York Marriott Marquis and the San Francisco Marriott. 

Pilar Gomez has bee appointed General Manager at the Hacienda Tres Rios on the Riviera Maya. She spent the past four years as General Manager and Director of Services at the Paradisus Palma Real in Punta Cana and at Paradisus Riviera Cancun.

Matt Greene has transferred to the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego as General Manager, taking over from Robert Todak. Greene was most recently the Senior Vice President of Operations at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Las Vegas. He previously served as Director of New Builds and Conversions for W Hotels Worldwide and as General Manager and Regional Director for the Hotel ZaZa in Dallas.Capella Hotels and Resorts has announced the appointment of Peter Bowling as General Manager of the Capella Pedregal, Cabo San Lucas' hottest new resort and residential community. He transfers from the position of General Manager at the Capella Castlemartyr in County Cork, Ireland. Prior to joining Capella, Bowling was the Managing Director of Jumby Bay for over four years.

Wende Blumberg has been named General Manager of the Mission Inn Resort & Club in Florida. For the past ten years, Blumberg had worked with Hilton Hotels, most recently as General Manager of the Hilton Atlanta Airport Hotel, after serving as General Manager of the Hilton University of Florida Conference Center.

Jud Hawk has been named General Manager of Aspen/Snowmass Hospitality for Related WestPac. He was most recently at the Hotel Jerome as General Manager and previously held positions with Ritz-Carlton Hotels and Ritz-Carlton Residences in various locations.

Christophe Thomas has become the General Manager of the W Union Square. For the past year, he had been the General Manager at the Shoreham. He previously served as Hotel Manager at the Gramercy Park Hotel, Director of Rooms at the Windsor Court New Orleans, and Rooms Division Manager for the Drake Hotel, Chicago.

Joyce Lyle-Freeman has been appointed General Manager of the Crowne Plaza San Antonio Hotel-Riverwalk. Most recently, she was the General Manager of the Sanderling Resort & Spa on North Carolina's Outer Banks.   Tina Denfeld has been named Regional General Manager of the Winterhaven and Blue Moon Hotels in South Beach Miami. She has previously held various leadership positions for the Roney Palace Beach Resort, Fisher Island Hotel & Resort and the Omni Colonade Hotel.

Jan Henningsen has been appointed General Manager of the Standard Hollywood, replacing Domenic Chiodi. Henningsen was most recently the Director of Food and Beverage at the Mondrian. He had previously overseen food and beverage at the (former) Fontainebleau Hilton, the Surf and Sand Resort Laguna Beach, and the Wyndham (now Hilton) Checkers Hotel.

Ernest Catanzaro has been appointed General Manager of the Doubletree Hotel Atlanta-Roswell and Executive Vice President of Operations for National Hospitality Holdings Portfolio. He was most recently the Vice President of Operations for the Dow Hotel Company.

David Rothwell has been promoted to General Manager at the Ritz-Carlton Naples. He joined the resort in 2005 as Hotel Manager. He has previously held upper management positions for the Ritz-Carlton New Orleans, the Mandarin Oriental Washington D.C. and the Ritz-Carlton Tyson's Corner.

Peter Ells has joined the Royal Palms Resort and Spa in Phoenix as General Manager. For the past two years, he had been the General Manager of the Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay. This is a return to Phoenix for Ells who was previously the General Manager of the Ritz-Carlton Phoenix.

Capella Hotels and Resorts has named Romana Heeg General Manager of the Capella Ixtapa. She was most recently the General Manager of the Colony Club Hotel in Barbados. Heeg previously served as Hotel Manager of Cambridge Beaches in Bermuda and Director of Food and Beverage at Little Dix Bay.

Anthony del Gaudio has been promoted to the newly created position of Vice President of Global Distribution at Loews Hotels. He was most recently the Regional Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Loews, after joining the company in 2001 as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Loews Philadelphia. In addition, del Gaudio spent thirteen years with Hyatt Hotels, serving in a variety of sales and marketing positions at Hyatt properties throughout Virginia, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Larry Brown has been appointed to the newly created position of Chief Executive of Fisher Island Club off the coast of Miami Beach. He was most recently the Vice President of Hotel Operations at the Silverton Lodge and Casino in Las Vegas. Brown previously held various management positions at the Renaissance Las Vegas, the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center and the Wyndham Warwick Hotel in Houston.

Michael Casey has joined the Rosewood Sand Hill, Menlo Park as Managing Director. His most recent position was as General Manager of San Francisco's Hotel Palomar, part of the Kimpton Hotel & Restaurant Group. Casey previously served as General Manager of the Hyatt Regency Albuquerque, the San Francisco Omni, and the Argent Hotel in San Francisco.

Stacy Thaler Martin has relocated to Atlanta to take over as General Manager at the Ellis Hotel. For the past seven years, she had been the General Manager of Noble House's Shores Resort & Spa, in Daytona Beach. She had previously served as General Manager at the La Playa Beach Resort in Naples and the Hotel Edgewater in Seattle.

Coni Thornburg has been named General Manager at Auberge Resorts' Calistoga Ranch. She rejoins her former boss from the Little Nell, Eric Calderon, who is now the Chief Operating Officer of Auberge Resorts. Thornburg spent nine years at the Little Nell as Director of Food and Beverage, before serving as General Manager at Denver's Hotel Teatro and, most recently the Lodge at Pebble Beach.

Mark Herron is the new General Manager at the Four Seasons Whistler, taking over from Scott Taber who has been promoted to the company's Toronto headquarters. Herron was most recently the General Manager at the Four Seasons Houston.

Taking over from Herron is Dirk Burghartz who has been promoted to the General Manager position for the Four Seasons Houston. He joined the company in 2003 as Hotel Manager at the Pierre before moving in 2005 to his most recent position at the Four Seasons New York as Hotel Manager.

Ronan Hénaff has joined the Setai in New York as General Manager. He was most recently in the same position at the Cipriani Club Residences Wall Street for the past two years. Hénaff previously held the title of Director of Food and Beverage at the Carlyle in New York and General Manager for Atelier at the Ritz-Carlton Central Park South.

Jim Oliver moves back on property to serve as General Manager for the Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale. He was most recently the Regional Vice President Operations for Ritz-Carlton, based at the regional offices in Miami. He previously served as Hotel Manager at the Ritz-Carlton South Beach and the Ritz-Carlton New Orleans.

Robert Logan has been named General Manager of Sandy Lane on Barbados. For the past four years, he had been with Raffles Singapore, most recently as General Manager. He previously served as Resident Manager of the Regent Bangkok and Director of Food and Beverage at the Four Seasons Dallas and the Loews Santa Monica.

Michael Hatzfeld has been named General Manager at the St. Regis Deer Crest Resort slated to open Summer 2009 in Utah. He was previously the General Manager at the (former) St. Regis Fort Lauderdale. He previously served as General Manager at the St. Regis Aspen and the Hotel Imperial in Vienna, Austria.

Peter Nielsen has been named General Manager of the Nelsen Lodge in British Columbia. Most recently, he was the opening General Manager of the Oswego Hotel in Victoria. Nielsen previously held various positions with Poet's Cove Resort and Spa, the Fairmont Chateau Whistler and the Cedarwood Inn.

Nigel Badminton is the new Hotel Manager of the New York Palace. He was most recently the Deputy General Manager of sister property the Dorchester in London, a position he has held since 1996.

The Four Seasons Philadelphia has appointed Fredrik Blomqvist Hotel Manager. He was most recently the Director of Food and Beverage at the Four Seasons Dublin. He previously served as Director of Food and Beverage at the Park Hyatt Villa Magna in Madrid, and at the Hyatt Regency in Riyadh.

Donald Stamets has moved over as Hotel Manager for the Ritz-Carlton South Beach. He was most recently in the same position at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando and previously served as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Ritz-Carlton Boston.

Acqualina Resort & Spa has named Klaus Tenter Chairman of the Acqualina Executive Committee. Tenter served as General Manager at several Four Seasons hotels throughout the world for more than twenty five years, including the Four Seasons Newport Beach and the Four Seasons Toronto. Most recently, he managed the development and opening of the Hazelton in Toronto.

Tim Bailey has been named General Manager of the Westin Virginia Beach Town Center. He was most recently the General Manager of the Timber Lodge and Grand Residence Club in Lake Tahoe. Previously, he served as General Manager of the Renaissance Portsmouth Hotel & Conference Center and as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Marriott Bay Point Resort.

Carlos Diago has joined the JW Marriott Guanacaste Resort in Costa Rica as Resort Manager. Diago previously served as Rooms Director for the JW Marriott Mexico City before taking over his most recent role as Acting Director of Rooms for the Ritz-Carlton San Juan.

John Thompson has moved over to the Westin Charlotte as Hotel Manager. He was most recently at the St. Regis Monarch Beach as Director of Rooms. This is a return to the Westin brand for Thompson who previously served as Front Office Manager at the Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa and as Director of Rooms at the Westin Ottawa.

Hilton Hotels has appointed Thomas Kennedy Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Kennedy joins Hilton from Vanguard Car Rental, the holding company of the National Car Rental and Alamo Rent-A-Car, where he also held the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. He has previously held a variety of management and executive positions at Northwest Airlines, Chiquita Brands International, Bank of Yokohama, and Merrill Lynch Capital Markets.

Sage Hospitality has named Brian Throne Vice President Financial Services. He was most recently the Vice President Finance for First Data Corporation.

Daniel McCue has been named Chief Financial Officer of the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort and Casino in New Mexico. Since 1999, he served as Director of Finance and Administration at the Seven Feathers Hotel & Casino Resort in Oregon.

Mark Ford has joined the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino as Vice President of Finance. He previously worked for Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut for fifteen years with various responsibilities ranging from Vice President of Finance to Director of Operational Accounting. Before his tenure at Foxwoods, he worked at Bally's Grand Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, for ten years in various accounting positions.

ResortQuest Hawaii has named David Jenner Senior Vice President of Finance. Jenner has held senior finance positions with Interstate Hotels Corporation, Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center, Air Jamaica, and most recently with the Atlantis Island Resort in the Bahamas.

The Wyndham Hotel Group has promoted Duane Elledge to Executive Vice President, Brand Services. He previously served as Senior Vice President, Group Operations, North America, with Wyndham after joining the group in 2006 as Senior Vice President, Design and Procurement. 

Keith Pierce has been promoted to President, Brand Operations, the Americas, for the Wyndham Hotel Group. Since 2004, Pierce had served as Group President for the company. Prior to that, he held the title of President of the AmeriHost, Ramada, Baymont and Wingate brands.
 
The Wyndham Hotel Group has promoted Jeff Edwards to the position of Chief Information Officer and Executive Vice President, Revenue Services. Edwards has been serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer since December 2005. 

Marc Bromley has been promoted to Director of Food and Beverage at the Four Seasons Washington D.C. He was most recently the Assistant Director of Food and Beverage at the Four Seasons Chicago. He previously spent four years with Peninsula Hotels as Director of Restaurants at the Peninsula Chicago and Director of Banquets at the Peninsula Beverly Hills.

Francois Grand has joined the just-about-to-open SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills as Director of Food and Beverage. Grand, a Lausanne graduate, was most recently the Area Manager in Los Angeles for CB5 Restaurant Group. He previously served as Director of Food and Beverage at Mondrian and General Manager of China Grill Management's Social Hollywood, Director of Restaurants and Lounges at the Peninsula Beverly Hills and Assistant Director of Food and Beverage at the Four Seasons Houston.

Mohamed Elbanna has transferred as Director of Food and Beverage with Four Seasons to the Ritz-Carlton Chicago. He was most recently holding the same title at the Four Seasons Alexandria. Elbanna previously served in food and beverage positions for the company at the Four Seasons Sharm El Sheikh and the Four Seasons Hampshire.

Michael Flickinger has joined Auberge Resorts as Director of Food and Beverage Operations at La Valencia in La Jolla. For the past year, he had held the position of Executive Director for Aegis at Shadowridge in Oceanside. Previously, he was the General Manager of the Grand Pacific Palisades Resort & Hotel.

Mark Kozak has been promoted to West Hollywood's Mondrian as Director of Food and Beverage. He was most recently the Director of Catering for all China Grill Las Vegas properties. At Mondrian, he takes over from Jan Henningsen.

Ricardo Mendes has moved to Little Palm Island as Director of Food and Beverage. For the past year, he had been with the Ritz-Carlton Palm Beach as Food and Beverage Manager. Mendes previously served in various food and beverage positions at the Regent South Beach, Spago in Las Vegas, and Turnberry Isle.

Winfred Van Workum has joined Sandy Lane as Director of Food and Beverage. Van Workum was most recently overseeing Fearing's restaurant in the Ritz-Carlton Dallas, following several years at the Breakers in Palm Beach.

Nicole Boosembark-Baker has been named Food and Beverage Director at the Statler Hotel at Cornell University. Boosembark-Baker, a Cornell Hotel School graduate of 2002, was most recently serving as Event Planning Manager at the hotel for the past three years.

Dominique Bertolone has been promoted at the Bellagio Resort to Director of Service. He was most recently the General Manager for both Le Cirque and Circo for the resort.

Gus Tejeda has joined Kerzner International in Florida as Vice President Group Sales. For the past two years, he had been the Vice President of Sales at Echelon in Las Vegas, which has been put on hold. He was previously with the Bellagio as Executive Director of Convention Sales.

Hilton Hotels has promoted Larry Luteran to Senior Vice President - Group Sales and Industry Relations. He most recently held the post of Regional Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Hilton's Southeast and South Central regions.

Starwood has appointed Mike Tiedy to the newly created role of Senior Vice President, Brand Design & Innovation. Most recently, Tiedy was Vice President, Creative Design, for Nordstrom and previously spent seventeen years in Brand Design at Nike in a variety of roles.

The Four Seasons Biltmore Santa Barbara has named Janice Snowden Director of Marketing, taking over from Christine Judd who is now in Sydney. Snowden was most recently overseeing sales and marketing at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows in Santa Monica.

Sam Jagger has joined the Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows in Santa Monica as Director of Sales and Marketing. His most recent post was at the Palms Place Hotel and Spa in Las Vegas, where he held the same title. He previously worked with the Morgans Hotel Group as Director of Marketing at the Mondrian and Regional Director of Sales Miami for the Delano, Shore Club and Mondrian South Beach Hotel.

Nathalie Debonnet has returned to Leading Hotels of the World as Regional Director of Sales, Western Region, replacing Simine Shevin who has left the company. Debonnet was previously a Sales Manager in the Santa Monica office before taking the title of Director of Sales North America for the Hôtel de Crillon and the Hotel Martinez. Her most recent position was as Key Accounts Director Special Markets for InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, based in Los Angeles.

Julie Matthews has joined Peninsula Hotels as West Coast Regional Director of Sales. For the past two years, she had been with the Island Hotel in Newport Beach as Director of Transient Sales. Matthews previously held the title of Regional Sales Manager for Leading Hotels of the World.

Tony Aslanian has joined the Peabody Orlando as Director of Sales and Marketing. He was most recently with the Hilton Walt Disney World Resort as Director of Sales and Marketing.

Larry Colton has been named Director of Sales and Marketing at the Hilton Los Cabos. For the past three years, he held the same title at the Arizona Grand Resort, formally the Pointe South Mountain Resort in Phoenix.

Greg Waters has taken over from Larry Colton as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Arizona Grand Resort. For the past five years, he had been close by, at the Royal Palms Resort and Spa, also as Director of Sales and Marketing. He previously held the title of Director of Sales for the Wigwam Resort and for the Arizona Biltmore.

Tracey Fentem has moved to Turks and Caicos as Director of Sales and Marketing for Wymara. For the past year, she had been with the Hotel Derek in Houston as Director of Sales and Marketing. She was previously the Director of Sales and Marketing at the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman and the Ritz-Carlton Rose Hall.

Chad Tiedt takes over from Fentem as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Hotel Derek. He was most recently with the Houston Marriott West Loop by the Galleria where he was the Director of Sales and Marketing. Previously, he held management positions with the Sheraton Houston Brookhollow and the Houston Medallion hotel. 

Sharon Myers has been named Director of Sales and Marketing for the Rosewood Sand Hill, Menlo Park, slated to open in the spring of 2009. She was most recently at the Omni San Francisco and previously held various positions at the Regency in New York and the Mandarin Oriental San Francisco.

The Mansion on Peachtree has named Steve Houser Director of Sales and Marketing. He previously served as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Adam's Mark Hotel Dallas.

The Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa in Phoenix has named Bill Hunter Director of Group Sales. He most recently served as Associate Director of Sales for the Arizona Biltmore Resort and Spa.

Kelly Commerford has joined the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego as Director of Sales and Marketing. He was most recently the Director of Sales and Marketing at the Hyatt Regency Bonaventure Conference Center & Spa.

Tade Allen has been promoted to Director of Sales and Marketing for the Founders Inn & Spa. Since 2006, she served as Director of Sales for the property.  

Olivier Rabsch has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing at the Chatham Bars Inn. For the past three years, he had held the title of Senior Sales Manager for the Millennium Bostonian Hotel. At Chatham, he replaces Richard Carroll.

The JW Marriott New Orleans has appointed Etienne Tardy Director of Sales and Marketing. Tardy is a seventeen-year Marriott veteran who started with the hotel company at the New Orleans Marriott where he most recently served as Director of Corporate Sales.

Adrian Larick has moved up to the W San Francisco as Director of Sales and Marketing. She was most recently in the same position at the Sheraton Universal (recently purchased by Destination Hotels and Resorts). This is a return to the city for Larick after holding sales and marketing positions with the Hotel Palomar and the San Francisco Marriott.

Jeremy Marquard has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing for the Rio Mar Beach Golf Resort, Casino & Spa in Puerto Rico. Previously, he served as Director of Group Sales for the Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa & the Diplomat Golf Resort.

Tim Corder has returned to the Wyndham Orlando Resort as Director of Sales and Marketing. He was previously serving in the same role with the resort before taking on his most recent position at the Rio Mar Beach Resort & Spa as Director of Sales and Marketing.

Roderick Jao has been named Sales and Marketing Director for the Affinia Chicago. He was most recently the Associate Director of Sales at The James in Chicago. Jao previously held various positions in Chicago hotels including the Sutton Place and the Sheraton Hotel and Towers. 

Charles Black has been named Director of Sales and Marketing for Cap Juluca on Anguilla. Black was previously the Director of Marketing for IMI. Previously, he had served as Director of Sales and Marketing for the Ritz-Carlton Golf & Spa Resort, Rose Hall and as National Sales Manager for the Windsor Court.

Doug McLain has joined the Wyndham Nassau Resort and Crystal Palace Casino as Director of Sales. He was most recently with Core Hospitality as Corporate Director of Sales and Marketing. He previously served in various sales and marketing positions for Trident Hospitality Management, the Wyndham Bonaventure Resort and Spa and the Wyndham Palace Resort and Spa.

Russ Mitchell has been named Director of Sales and Marketing for the Westin South Coast Plaza. Since 2005, he had held the position of Director of Sales and Marketing at the Westin Gaslamp Quarter in San Diego. Mitchell previously held sales positions at the Sheraton Suites San Diego and the Westin Century Plaza in Los Angeles. 

The Hotel Valley Ho has appointed Joseph Heinl Director of Group Sales. Heinl had previously served as Senior Account Executive at Scottsdale's Camelback Inn, a JW Marriott Resort and Spa.

Jill Wojahn has been named Director of Leisure Sales for the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa. She was most recently the West Coast Director of Sales for Micato Safaris.

Jennifer Johnson has been appointed Director of National Sales for Destination Hotels & Resorts, based in its newly opened regional office in Washington D.C. She was most recently in national sales with Destination's Estancia La Jolla. Johnson previously worked with Kimpton and at the Grand Colonial Hotel in La Jolla.

The Hyatt Regency Monterey Resort & Spa has appointed Jennifer Lewis Associate Director of Sales. She had previously served with LaBelle Management as Director of Sales and as National Sales Manager at La Quinta Corporation.

Samantha Jervis has been appointed Account Director, Tour and Leisure Sales, at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler. She was most recently with the King Pacific Lodge as Associate Director of Sales. Jervis previously worked in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, for the Royal Hideaway Resort as Director of Group, Sales & Marketing - International Markets.

The Grand Del Mar has named Heather Ann Dieter and Josh Hourdequin Directors of Leisure Sales. Dieter was previously the Assistant Director of Sales at the Beverly Hilton. Hourdequin was most recently a Sales Manager at the Hotel Ivy in San Diego.

Gaétan Mousseau has joined Destinations' Terranea Resort as Sales Manager. For the past two years, he had held the title of Group Sales Manager at the Ritz-Carlton Marina del Rey.

Martial Noguier has been appointed Executive Chef at the Sofitel Chicago Water Tower. For the past seven years, he had been the Executive Chef for 160 Blue and Corporate Chef for Michael Jordan Restaurants. He previously served as Executive Chef for the Omni Ambassador East, Jumby Bay and Michel Richard's Citronelle.

Jeff Blackwell has been named Executive Chef for the Rocks Modern Grill in the Beaver Creek Lodge. Most recently, Blackwell worked at the Rusty Parrot Lodge and Spa in Jackson Hole at the Wild Sage restaurant. He had previously worked the kitchens at the Inn at Lost Creek's 9545 restaurant, McCormick's Fish House and Bar in Denver's Oxford Hotel and the Beaver Run Resort in Breckenridge.

Cap Juluca on Anguilla has tapped René Bajeux as Executive Chef. He was most recently at the helm of La Provence in Lacombe, Louisiana. Bajeux previously oversaw the kitchens of the Four Seasons Maui, the Four Seasons Beverly Hills, the Windsor Court Hotel, and the Renaissance Pere Marquette Hotel.  ?

Pinehurst Resort has appointed Thierry Debailleul Executive Chef. He was most recently the Executive Chef at Foxwoods in Connecticut. He was formerly the Executive Chef of the Pointe South Mountain in Phoenix and the Westin Stonebriar in Texas.

El Monte Sagrado Living Resort and Spa has appointed John Cox Executive Chef. He previously worked with Noble House Hotels at the restaurant at the Inn at Loretto before his most recent move to Hawaii as Executive Chef of the Hotel Hana Maui.

Thomas Ryan has moved to the Big Canyon Country Club in Newport Beach as Executive Chef after a stint in the same position at the Resort at Pelican Hill. His previous culinary experience includes serving in the kitchens of the Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove, the Ritz-Carlton Aspen and the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Carlos Guia has joined SW Steakhouse at Wynn Las Vegas as Chef de Cuisine, working under Chef David Walzog. He was most recently the Executive Chef and Partner with Louis's Las Vegas and Louis's Fish Camp.

Jason McClain has joined the MGM Grand at Foxwoods as Assistant Executive Chef. This past summer, he was the Executive Chef for East Hampton Point. He had previously served as Executive Chef for Restaurant 8 1/2 at the Clinton Hotel and Nikki Beach, both in Miami. In addition, he is a former Restaurant Chef for 57/57 at the Four Seasons New York and Chef Tournant for the Fountain Room in the Four Seasons Philadelphia.

Joshua Smith has joined chef Alain Giraud's Anisette in Santa Monica as Chef de Cuisine. He was most recently the Executive Chef at the Viceroy Miami. He was previously based in Las Vegas, serving as Executive Chef at Seablue for Michael Mina and in various culinary positions at Alize with Executive Chef Jacques Van Staden and Osteria del Circo with Executive Chef Marc Poidevin.

Joe Anguiano has joined SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills as Executive Sous Chef. He was most recently the Executive Chef at Mirabelle Restaurant in Los Angeles. He had previously served in the Sous Chef position for Patina Los Angeles and Miro at the Bacara Resort & Spa in Santa Barbara.

Christophe Chatron-Michaud has joined the Jean Georges Restaurant Group in New York as Director of Operations. He comes from his most recent stint as Owner/Partner of Solex in New York. He has previously served as Director of Operations at Japonais in New York and Las Vegas, as General Manager for the Charlie Palmer Group and the Mansion at MGM Grand.

Nick Fielding has been named Director of Operations for (Dr.) Steve Levine's newly formed restaurant group that includes Wilshire Restaurant in Los Angeles. Earlier this year, he took on the role of Director of Food and Beverage for Little Palm Island after spending three years as General Manager for Table 8 at the Regent South Beach. Fielding previously served in food and beverage positions at Spago Beverly Hills and Turnberry Isle.

Jason Waterlow has joined Rancho Valencia as Director of Food and Beverage. He was most recently at Chateau du Sureau as Restaurant Manager. He had previously served as Restaurant Manager at the Windsor Court New Orleans and the Four Seasons Boston.

Elizabeth Carrier has moved to the Four Seasons Chicago as Assistant Director of Food and Beverage after serving in the same position for sister property, the Ritz-Carlton Chicago. She had previously served as Assistant Director of Food and Beverage at the Beverly Hilton and spent two years at Wynn Las Vegas as General Manager of Daniel Boulud Brasserie and Tableau.

Ash Bhasin has been appointed Director of Rooms at the Trump International Hotel and Tower in New York. He was most recently the Director of Front Office Operations for the Soho Grand Hotel and Tribeca Grand Hotel. Bhasin previously served as Guest Services Manager at the Pierre, and as Night Manager at the Regent Wall Street.

Dan Scavino adds the duties of Executive Vice President to his current position as General Manager of Trump National Golf Club in Westchester County, New York.

Sierra Shore has joined the Chatham Bars Inn as Spa Director. For the past year, she held the same position at the Ritz-Carlton Westchester. She previously held various positions with El Monte Sagrado Living Resort & Spa in Taos, and the Snake River Lodge in Wyoming.

Rita Rroku has joined the New York Palace as Spa Director. She was most recently at the Ritz-Carlton Westchester as Spa Supervisor. 

EUROPE

Alain Brière has recently joined the Oetker Group as Vice President Sales and Marketing. Oetker is the management company that includes the Hôtel Le Bristol Paris, Brenner's Park Hotel & Spa in Baden-Baden, Park Hotel Vitznau, Château Saint-Martin & Spa in Vence and Hôtel du Cap Eden-Roc at the Cap d'Antibes. A thirty-five year hotel marketing veteran, he began his career in 1973 at the Paris Hilton as Director of Sales. From 1978 to 1988, he held multiple positions within Inter-Continental Hotels in Paris, where he was appointed Regional Director of Marketing for France, Switzerland and the Mediterranean. In 1988, he joined Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts. After working for Méridien for ten years, he joined JJW Hotels & Resorts. In 2005, Brière joined Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, as Area Director Sales and Marketing. Since 2007, he has served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for MAF Hospitality in Dubai.

Jean-Luc Chrétien has been named Executive Vice President, Hotel Distribution for Accor. He has previously worked with EuroDisney, Pierre et Vacances and SNCF Voyages.

Luca Virgilio will be joining the Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo as General Manager, taking over from Jean-Claude Messant, who will be managing the Hôtel de Crillon. For the past four years, Virgilio had been at the Hotel Baglioni London as General Manager. He previously served as General Manager of the Hotel Carlton Baglioni in Milan and Resident Manager at the Hotel Eden in Rome.

Simon Hirst has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer for CampbellGray Hotels, the parent company for One Aldwych where he has been the General Manager since pre-opening. He previously served as General Manager at the Regent Chiang Mai and Resident Manager at the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong.

Stefan Soennichsen comes in to take over from Hirst as General Manager for One Aldwych. He was most recently the Hotel Manager at the Savoy. He previously served as Resident Manager for the InterContinental Dubai.

Rupert Elliott has returned to Stapleford Park as General Manager after initially serving as a Porter for the hotel in 1988 at the age of seventeen. He most recently opened Hart's in Nottingham and previously served eight years with the Savoy Group spending time at the Connaught, the Berkeley, Claridge's and the Savoy. In addition, he has overseen the Goring and Hambleton Hall.

Henning Mattheison has been appointed General Manager at the Augustine in Prague, slated for a spring 2009 opening. Mattheison previously served as Assistant Manager at the Hotel Adlon Kempinksi in Berlin and as General Manager at the Coombe Abbey Hotel.

Brice Kemper at the Hotel du Cap Eden Roc in Cap d'Antibes has been promoted to Director of Sales and Marketing for both the Hotel du Cap and the Château Saint Martin & Spa, in addition to handling Rooms Operations at the Hotel du Cap Eden Roc.

The Four Seasons Hampshire has appointed Michael Voigt Hotel Manager. He was most recently with Dukes Hotel in London as General Manager.

Laurent van Hoegaerden has been promoted to Operations Manager for the Hotel du Cap Eden Roc. He was most recently serving as the Food and Beverage Manager for the hotel, following six years at the Hôtel de Crillon.

Olivier Zimmerlin has been promoted to Resident Manager for the Château Saint Martin & Spa. He was most recently the Chef Concierge for the resort.

Franky Pyck has been named Operations Manager for the newly opened Kempinski Hotel Dukes' Palace in Bruges, Belgium. He was previously the Director of Operations at the Ghent Marriott and Operations Manager at the Sofitel Bruges.

Valérie Muller has been promoted from Director of Sales and Marketing to Director of Communications for both the Hotel du Cap Eden Roc and the Château Saint Martin & Spa.

Tanja Pfifers has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing at the Augustine in Prague. This will be her third hotel opening having already overseen the launch of the Four Seasons Gresham Palace in Budapest and the Four Seasons Caracas.

Sophie Senjaric has joined the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues in Geneva as Director of Human Resources. Previous stints included Director of Human Resources with local Swiss airline FlyBaboo, and Regional Training Manager for Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza.

Bernhard Mayer has been named Executive Chef at the Savoy London. He was most recently the Executive Chef at the now shuttered Four Seasons London.

The Métropole ESPA Monte-Carlo has appointed Marianna Heurtel Spa Director. Since 2006, she has been the Spa Director at the Grand Hotel Royal in Budapest.            

At the hot new Starck-designed, Trigano-owned Mama Shelter in Paris, Bruno Vergeynst is consulting on the food and beverage product, working closely with celebrity chef Alain Senderens. Vergeynst was until recently the General Manager of the Custom Hotel in Los Angeles, and previously worked with Hotels AB and China Grill Management.

ASIA AND THE PACIFIC

Madhu Rao has been promoted to Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, replacing Giovanni Angelini who has relinquished his responsibilities for medical reasons. Rao joined the company in 1988 as Group Financial Controller. He was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Shangri-La Asia Limited in 1997 and continues to concurrently hold that position.

Jerry Gibson has returned to Hawaii to take the helm of Hilton's Hawaii Resorts as Area Vice President of Hawaii and Managing Director of the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa. He had been with Hyatt Hotels for the past twenty seven years, most recently as Vice President and Managing Director of the Hyatt Regency Chicago.

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has promoted Greg Dogan Chief Operating Officer. He was previously a Regional Vice President and General Manager of the Makati Shangri-La following a position as Regional Vice President based in Dalian, China. 

The Taunovo Bay Resort, in Fiji has appointed Jonathan and Nicole Wise President and General Manager and Vice President Development, respectively. Both most recently held senior management roles at Antares Real Estate Partners. Previously, they served as Co-General Managers of Villa del Sol (now known as The Tides, Zihuatanejo).

Peter Henley has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer at Bangkok-based Amari Hotels & Resorts, taking over from Kurt Rufli who is retiring. Henley was most recently with Raffles International in Singapore as Senior Vice President Business Development.

Michael Cottan has been promoted to Vice President and General Manager of the Shangri-La Bangkok. He was most recently at the Shangri-La Sydney as General Manager, a position he held since 2004. He was previously the General Manager and Area Manager at the Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur.

Franz Donhauser takes over from Cottan at the Shangri-La Sydney as General Manager. He was most recently in Hong Kong at the Island Shangri-La, as General Manager.

Darren Gearing takes over from Donhauser as General Manager and Area Manager of the Island Shangri-La Hong Kong. He was most recently the Senior Director of Development–Special Projects at the Shangri-La corporate offices in Hong Kong. Gearing had previously served as General Manager of Shangri-La's Kerry Centre Hotel Beijing.

Mark Heywood has transferred to the Shangri-La Qingdao as General Manager. He was most recently the General Manager at the Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong. Heywood has worked with Shangri-La for the past eighteen years, joining the group in 1990 as Resident Manager of the Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur.

Lothar Nessmann has transferred to the Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur as Vice President and General Manager. He previously served as Vice President for the Shangri-La corporate offices and as General Manager of the Shangri-La Far Eastern Plaza in Taipei.

Cetin Sekercioglu has been appointed Vice President and General Manager of the Pudong Shangri-La, Shanghai. He was most recently based at the corporate office of Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts in Hong Kong for four years, in the role of Vice President – Hotels. Previously, he held the title of Vice President and General Manager of the Shangri-La Singapore.

The Traders Hotel, Singapore has named Juergen Doerr General Manager. He had previously served as Hotel Manager for the Shangri-La Taipei and as Executive Assistant Manager Food and Beverage at the Shangri-La Singapore.

Peter Mainguy has transferred to the Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore as General Manager. For the past two years he had served as General Manager of the Ritz-Carlton Dubai. Mainguy is succeeded in Dubai as General Manager by Andrew Nussbaum.

Markus Kosch has been named General Manager of the Hilton Hefei in China, replacing Luc Bollen who now heads the Hilton Petaling Jaya. Kosch has been with Hilton since 1997, most recently as Director of Operations at the Hilton Beijing.

Outrigger Enterprises has appointed Teri Orton General Manager of the former OHANA Islander Waikiki, which recently closed to reopen in the Waikiki Beach Walk redevelopment project. Orton was most recently the Regional General Manager and Resort Operations/Asset Manager for Anekona Development. and previously held the title of General Manager at the W Honolulu - Diamond Head.

Stefan Bollhalder has transferred as General Manager to the Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong. He was most recently the General Manager of Shangri-La's China World Hotel, Beijing. He joined Shangri-La in 2001 as General Manager of the Shangri-La Jakarta. 

The InterContinental Hong Kong has promoted Claus Pedersen to Resident Manager. He takes over from Jeffrey Ong who has been promoted to General Manager of the new InterContinental Dalian. Pedersen first joined the hotel in 2005 as Director of Food and Beverage and was promoted to Executive Assistant Manager – Food  & Beverage in 2006 and then to Executive Assistant Manager in Fall 2007. He previously held various positions at the Hilton Otaru and the Hilton Nagoya.

Diderik Van Regemorter has been appointed Managing Director of the Regent Beijing. He was most recently the General Manager of the Regent Palms Turks and Caicos. Prior to joining Regent, Van Regemorter served as Hotel Director aboard Holland America Line, and in similar positions with Cunard-Seabourn and Princess Cruises.

Sebastian Moritz has joined Shangri-La's Villingili Resort and Spa as Resident Manager. He was most recently the Director of Operations at the Hazelton Hotel Toronto and was previously the Director Front Office Operations for Fairmont Royal York.
 
The Hilton Hefei has named Markus Kaliss Director of Operations. He was most recently the Director of Business Development at Hilton Petaling Jaya in Malaysia.

Leonard Mok has been promoted to Director of Hotel Operations at the Crown Macau from his most recent position as Director of Rooms. He was previously on hotel consultancy as Project Director for the Legendale Hotel Beijing and had held Senior Rooms Division positions at JW Marriott and Conrad International in London, Singapore and Vancouver.

Anthony Freda has been named Director of Food and Beverage at the Four Seasons Lana'i. He was most recently the Director of Food and Beverage at the Four Seasons Miami. He previously served in food and beverage management positions at the Four Seasons Atlanta, the Ritz-Carlton Atlanta, and the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua.

The InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong has appointed Lincoln Davis Director of Quality Management. He previously served as Director of Training at Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu in addition to Le Royal Méridien Dubai.

The Sydney Convention and Visitors Bureau has appointed Christine Judd Director of Sales. She was most recently the Director of Marketing at the Four Seasons Biltmore in Santa Barbara. This is return to Sydney for Judd who previously served as Director of Marketing for the Four Seasons Sydney. She held similar positions at the Peninsula Beverly Hills, the Conrad Hong Kong and the Westin South Coast Plaza.

David Ippersiel has moved to Phuket to join the Indigo Pearl Resort as Executive Assistant Manager Sales and Marketing. He was most recently in Brussels as Partner and Co-Owner at the Hotel Café Pacific. He previously spent nine years with Marriott International in various sales and marketing positions including Area Director of Sales and Marketing Western Europe, Director of Sales and Marketing at the Warsaw Marriott and Area Director of Sales for the Renaissance Dubai.

Six Senses Resorts & Spas in Bangkok has appointed Patrick Anderson Director of Sales and Marketing. He previously held various positions with Hyatt in St. Louis, the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company in London, and held the title of Director of Sales at the Waldorf Towers in New York.

The Mauna Lani Bay Hotel Bungalows has named Rodney Lau Director of Sales and Marketing. Lau was most recently with the Marriott Resort Hawaii on Kaua'i as Regional Associate Director of Sales. His previous sales experience includes stints as Director of Sales at the Kaua'i Marriott Resort and Beach Club, the Princeville Resort, the Orchid at Mauna Lani, and the Ritz-Carlton Mauna Lani.

The InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong has appointed Tina Di Cicco Director of Communications. Prior to joining the hotel, she led the global marketing launch for regional airline, Viva Macau. Previously, she had a ten-year career with Lufthansa German Airlines and co-founded I-Quest Corporation.         

Jennifer del Rio has been appointed Director of Human Resources at the Four Seasons Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru. She comes from the Shangri-La Maldives and previously managed Human Resources at the Taj Maldives.

The InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong has appointed Edmund Pak Director of Revenue. He was most recently the Director of Revenue Management at the Shanghai JC Mandarin. Previously, he had worked for various hotels in Singapore such as the Pan Pacific, the Orchard Parade, the Shangri-La and Sheraton Towers before joining the pre-opening team of the Regent Shanghai.

James Viney will be the Executive Chef at the Four Seasons Macau by the end of October, joining from the Four Seasons Tokyo Marunouchi. Prior to joining Four Seasons in 2007, Viney was the Executive Chef at the Saujana in Kuala Lumpur, following several years with InterContinental in Seoul and Sydney.

MIDDLE EAST AND AFRICA

Davide Bertilaccio has joined Armani Hotels & Resorts as Director of Operations to oversee the opening of the Burj Dubai. He was most recently the General Manager at Rocco Forte's Le Richemond in Geneva and previously the General Manager of the Hotel Savoy.

Alain Chatel has transferred as General Manager to the Mövenpick Hotel & Resort Beirut. He was most recently overseeing the Mövenpick Resort & Spa El Gouna in Egypt. Chatel previously served as General Manager of Le Méridien Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos, Nigeria.

Jean Stéphane Grasset has been named General Manager of the Mövenpick Resort & Spa Mauritius. He was most recently overseeing the Santiburi in Koh Samui, Thailand.

Grasset takes over from John Wood who is now responsible for the Mövenpick Resort & Spa El Gouna. Before joining the Mövenpick Resort & Spa Mauritius as General Manager in 2007, Wood opened Le Méridien in Split, Croatia.

The Four Seasons Amman has named Samer Al-Husseini Director of Finance. He joins the hotel from the Hyatt Amman were he held the position of Assistant Director of Finance for the past six years.

The Four Seasons Alexandria has appointed Xavier Pougnard Director of Food and Beverage. Pougnard, a Lausanne graduate, previously held various food and beverage management positions at the Ritz-Carlton Chicago, the Four Seasons Vancouver, the Four Seasons Atlanta, the Four Seasons Philadelphia and the Four Seasons Cairo Nile Plaza.

Bob Suri has been appointed Director of Food and Beverage at the Four Seasons Damascus. He previously held food and beverage management positions at the Four Seasons Whistler and the Four Seasons Toronto.

Laurent Boisdron has moved to Dubai as opening Director of Food and Beverage at the Sofitel Jumeirah Beach. This is a return to the Sofitel brand for Boisdron after serving with the company for five years before taking his most recent position with Norwegian Cruise Line in Miami as Director Corporate Food and Beverage Operations. His past food and beverage background includes Director of Food and Beverage for the Sofitel Chicago Water Tower and the Sofitel Chicago O'Hare.

Barnaby Jones has joined Le Touessrok on Mauritius as Executive Chef. For the past year, he had held the same position for the Hodges Bay Club on Antigua. Jones previously held the Executive Chef title at Carlisle Bay on Antigua, Babington House in England, and Amanjena in Marrakech.
