Sofitel Luxury Hotels launched an new marketing initiative in the form of an exciting on line game entitled 'Around the World with Sofitel: 80 Magnifique Nights'.

This unique competition takes its inspiration both from two well loved sources - Tales of the 1001 Arabian Nights and the novel "Around the World in 80 Days" by French author, Jules Verne . In short, it is an invitation to emulate the journey of the fictional character,   Phileas Fogg, who wagered, against the odds, that he could travel around the world in 80 days.

Sofitel has launched a dedicated website, www.sofitel80nights.com, which enables visitors to discover the brand's 120 addresses in 40 different countries using the interactive world map.

Each participant fills out their own virtual travel diary to create their ideal world tour of eight Sofitel destinations. The entry is in the form of a postcard recounting the eight preferred stopover points that are chosen.

The prize is an accumulated 80 nights at any Sofitel properties to be shared between eight lucky winners who will be selected in a draw that will be held on July 18.

The top prize winner will get 31 nights in a double bedroom and two flights around the world, to enable him or her to make their dream journey come true, while seven other winners will each win a stay for seven nights in a double room in one of their selected hotels.

Visitors can increase their chances of winning by either becoming fans of the Sofitel Facebook page, by sending their postcard of eight destinations to friends, or by becoming a member of the AIClub loyalty program run by the Accor Group. In each case, the user will get extra chances to win.

This special operation will be backed up by extensive international media coverage, a travel diary including a selection of special events which the Sofitel hotels from around the world want to share has been drawn up, in conjunction with the French magazine L'Officiel Voyage.
