With the newly signed two management contracts in China for Sofitel Haikou and Sofitel Lianyungang Suning Galaxy, Sofitel Luxury Hotels has a network of 25 hotels within Greater China.
This includes the two upcoming opening hotels in 2010: Sofitel Dongguan Humen Oriental and Sofitel Guangzhou Sunrich.
Sofitel Luxury Hotels is pleased to announce the major changes that have been taking place within its new organization by relocating its Greater China regional team to be based at Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16.
With this new growth, the Greater China regional office in Shanghai has been moved to the Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16, where Michel Molliet has taken the dual role of the Vice President Greater China and General Manager of Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16, leading a support team covering Sales, Marketing, Revenue and Administration for Greater China. Other Sofitel support functions such as Finance, Human Resources, Technical and IT services will remain in Shanghai.

Amandio Martins has been appointed Regional Director of Distribution and Revenue Management Sofitel Asia, as well as Director of Distribution and Revenue Management for Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16, with effect from April 19th, 2010. Having previously been appointed as Regional Director of Distribution and Revenue Management Sofitel South East Asia, based at Bangkok Corporate Office, we are delighted to have Amandio relocated to Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16 with the Greater China Team.
Chris Lim has been appointed Regional Director of Sales Sofitel Greater China, as well as Director of Sales for Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16, effective 1st April 2010. With a wealth of experience, having worked at Meritus Hotels & Resorts and Shangri-La, Chris will take over from Anne Lewinski for Greater China.
Another addition to the Marketing team is Phyllis Sio who has also been appointed as Regional Director of Marketing and Communication Sofitel Greater China, as well as Director of Marketing and Communication for Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16. Having joined Sofitel in August 2007 as a Marketing Communications Manager with the pre-opening team of Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16, Phyllis now takes up new responsibilities within the Greater China Team.
Michel Molliet commented that, "Macau provides a geographical advantage for its close proximity to the South China region where the majority of the new Sofitel Hotel development will take place in the next three years. Thus, it makes perfect sense to move the base from Shanghai to Macau. At the same time, the owner of Macau Ponte 16 has been very supportive to the move and recognizes the benefits for all concerned."
