One of Japan's biggest online travel agents says the company's next priority for its international travelers from Japan is to equip them with a deeper level of information, and access to more bookable items in each host country.
Speaking at WIT 2009, Masashi Okatake, the president of Rakuten Travel Inc, said that with over 80% of the company's outbound business currently going to Asia, it would become increasingly important to offer them a broader range of experiences online, aside from just the airfare and hotel components.
