Theme park operator, Oriental Land announced that a record of over 27 million visitors were received at Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea in the fiscal year of 2008.

The number of visitors represented a 7.1% increase from the previous year, fiscal year 2007.

The major reasons attributed to the record number of visitors include the favourable weather, large-scale parades and events held in conjunction with the 25th anniversary celebrations of Tokyo Disneyland.

Local visitors also contributed significantly to the record visitation.
