Fostering cross cultural ties London-based Millennium & Copthorne Hotel makes inroads into Japan.
Hong Leong Group's London based hotel arm, Millennium & Copthorne Hotels (M&C), through its Singapore office, Millennium & Copthorne International, marks its first steps into Japan, with its collaboration with Japanese hotel, Mitsui Garden Hotel chain (MGH), in turn owned by Mitsui Fudosan (MF), the largest property developer in Japan.
Under the collaboration, MF will host information about M&C's network of over 120 hotels worldwide. Likewise, M&C's corporate site will carry information about MF's network of 14 Mitsui Garden Hotels. With more than 3,800 rooms in Japan, MGH has become a brand which has become synonymous with style in Japan.
The online collaboration which goes live in February will feature information about each corporation's hotels, their locations, and a bit about the regions they are situated in. Both groups will also publish their hotel information in their respective Worldwide Directories.
"We would like to think of this as not just a business collaboration, but a cultural one as well," said Mr Yim Choong Hing, Chief Operating Officer of Millennium & Copthorne International Limited. "Mitsui Garden Hotels and M&C Hotels offer unique experiences for our guests. By providing an easy platform of information, we want to encourage our guests to travel to more distant places and experience the wonderful cultures in these countries. We look forward to a good, long-term relationship with the MF group."
The two groups will seal the collaboration at the end of January 2009.
