The lease contract has been terminated owing to the delay in delivering the hotel operation to the international hotel group based in Switzerland.
Therefore the hotel project, which is under construction on the Inselstrasse in Düsseldorf, will not open under the management of Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts.
The transfer was planned for mid-December 2008 and the opening for mid-January 2009.
"We very much regret having to disappoint our customers who had been looking forward to a new Mövenpick Hotel in Düsseldorf", says Ola Ivarsson, Senior Vice President Europe Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts.
"We will now ensure that accommodation is found in other hotels in Düsseldorf for our customers who had already made bookings."
