MICE revenue climbed 40% from 8 and a half Million USD in the first half of 2007 to 12 Million USD in the same period of 2008.
The first half of 2008 has brought record results for WORLDHOTELS' MICE business. Another great success for the hotel group has been the excellent group results generated at IMEX 2008, the essential exhibition for meetings and incentive travel worldwide.
Christian Badenhop, Area Director Sales & Marketing at WORLDHOTELS, stated: "It has been the most successful IMEX in the history of WORLDHOTELS. At this exhibition alone, we were able to generate group bookings in the amount of 750.000 USD and group contracts for a further 3.4 Million USD are currently being finalised. We are confident that we can build on this success in the future".
According to Badenhop, one of the main reasons for the hotel group's soaring MICE business is the company's meeting planner tool WORLDHOTELS.events.
Badenhop commented: "WORLDHOTELS.events is one of the first comprehensive tools specially designed for meeting planners. Since its introduction, our MICE revenue has tripled and jumped from 7.5 Million USD in 2004 to 20 Million USD in 2007. We predict another 30 percent increase in MICE revenue for 2008."
WORLDHOTELS.events offers tailor-made support to meeting planners. It features a convenient online search tool, which allows searching for hotel rooms and meeting venues among nearly 500 WORLDHOTELS properties worldwide at worldhotels.com, section "Meetings & Events". Meeting planners receive further support via three multilingual group desks located in London, New York and Singapore.
Quotes can be requested online or by phone and will be answered on the same day (next business day for international requests) with guaranteed rates on rooms, meeting space and banqueting.
