Travelodge acquires nine Campanile hotels across the UK

British owner-operator Travelodge has entered an agreement to acquire nine UK hotels (951 rooms) from Hotel Campanile, part of Louvre Hotels Group. The budget hotels are located in Birmingham, Bradford, Dartford, Leicester, Liverpool, Manchester, Northampton, Milton Keynes and Swindon, with five to be acquired on a freehold basis and four to be acquired on a long-leasehold basis. Travelodge own and/or operate almost 600 hotels in the UK and aim to reach 900. Chinese tourism and hospitality giant Jin Jiang International acquired Louvre Hotels Group from Starwood Capital in 2015.

 Villa d’Este acquires two hotels on Italy’s Lake Como from Lario Hotels

Italian owner-operator Gruppo Villa d’Este has acquired the five-star, 18-room Vista Palazzo Lago di Como and the four-star, 50-room Albergo Terminus in Como, Italy, from Italian owner-operator Lario Hotels. The properties are situated adjacent to each other on the lakefront in Como. Lario will continue to operate the hotels through the 2025 season, with the new owners set to take over management in December 2025. Vista Palazzo will then be rebranded, while Albergo Terminus will retain its current name. Gruppo Villa d’Este already operates two other hotels that are located within a stone’s throw of the subject hotels – the Palace Hotel and Ceccato Garden Bar that are located next door to the Albergo Terminus, and the Hotel Barchetta Excelsior that is less than 100 metres away.

 Studio Vacanze acquires Sporting Hotel and Hotel I Corbezzoli in Sardinia, Italy

Italian owner-operator Studio Vacanze has acquired two hotels in Budoni on the island of Sardinia in Italy, the four-star, 273-room Sporting Hotel and the three-star, 77-room Hotel I Corbezzoli. Budoni is a coastal town in north-eastern Sardinia, with both properties located just nearby the beach. Both hotels include a restaurant and swimming pool. This transaction expands Studio Vacanze’s hotel portfolio to 19 properties across Sardinia.

 AX Partners acquires Hotel Eetu in Begur, Spain

Spanish private equity real estate firm AX Partners has acquired the four-star, 42-room Hotel Eetu in Begur, Spain. The property is situated about a 1.5-hour drive north-east of Barcelona, just a 5-minute walk from the beach. The hotel includes a restaurant, pool and event room. AX Partners plans to fully renovate the property in the coming months, transforming it into a five-star, 65-room Meliá hotel. The rebranded Meliá Aiguablava will be operated by Spanish operator Summum Hotel Group. The total investment, including the acquisition cost and reconstruction works, is expected to be approximately €15 million (€230,100 per room).

 McKeever Hotel Group acquires Armagh City Hotel in Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland-based owner-operator McKeever Hotel Group has acquired the three-star, 101-room Armagh City Hotel in Armagh, Northern Ireland, from local hoteliers Kieran McAnallan, Felix Mooney, Brian McCormack, and Ernie Fisher, off a guide price of £9 million. The city of Armagh is located 65 kms south-west of Belfast and less than 20 kms from the border with the Republic of Ireland. The hotel, which includes a restaurant, bar and event space, is situated in central Armagh, next to the County Armagh Golf Club. Following this acquisition, McKeever owns and operates seven hotels across the Island of Ireland.

 Aura Hotels acquires The Craiglands Hotel in Ilkley, UK

Aura Hotels, the hospitality arm of British investment company Rambler Group Holdings, has acquired the three-star, 63-room Craiglands Hotel in Ilkley in the north of England. The property is situated near the Yorkshire Dales National Park, a 45-minute drive north-east of Leeds. The hotel includes a restaurant, bar, spa and ten meeting rooms. Following the acquisition, Aura Hotels plans to undertake extensive works to transform the property into a four-star, 100-room wellness hotel.
