Natural disasters in the region this week (again) as Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki erupts in Indonesia, causing flight cancellations, whilst the Philippines gets hit by its sixth typhoon in a month, Super Typhoon Man-yi.

China remains top of mind for the region: Malaysia welcomes 2.5 mil Chinese tourists from Jan-Sep 2024, +5% vs pre-pandemic; Cambodia sees 608k Chinese visitors in the same period, +50% YoY and plans to hold a Cambodia-China Travel Fair on top of its Cambodia-China Sister Cities Conference.

Singapore sees demand for flights and buses to Malaysia for the Lunar New Year - but Vietnamese airlines who've added capacity are struggling to sell seats, with agents reporting sales -30% YoY.
