Conrad manages Shanghai's newest.

Shanghai's newest and most spectacular hotel development is scheduled to be completed in 2008, the striking Conrad Shanghai will be located in the heart of the vibrant Xintiandi district.

The hotel's ultra-contemporary design has been inspired by traditional Chinese motifs and will feature 362 stylish guest rooms, a chic urban spa, state-of-the-art meeting facilities and two standalone annexes housing innovative food and beverage and recreational facilities.

The upmarket Xintiandi district is part of an urban revitalisation project comprising trendy boutiques, restaurants and shops in the heart of the city centre of Shanghai, Puxi. Xintiandi also features commercial and residential properties.

Commenting on the significance of the occasion, Matthew Hart, President and Chief Operating Officer for Hilton Hotels Corporation, said: "When people think of luxury accommodation in Shanghai, they will think of Conrad. Conrad Shanghai in Xintiandi will be a timeless landmark hotel in Shanghai and we are confident it will be the preferred choice for the discerning traveller."

Conrad Shanghai will be the third Conrad branded hotel in China, after Conrad Hong Kong and Conrad Beijing (scheduled to open 2008). Another close hotel in the region will be the recently announced Conrad Macau.

The signing ceremony was officiated by Matthew Hart, President and Chief Operating Officer for Hilton Hotels Corporation, Mr Leo Koguan, Chairman, Shanghai Li Xing Hotel Co Ltd, Wilfred Wong, Deputy Chairman for Shui On Group, Tom Keltner, President, Brand Performance and Development (Group), Hilton Hotels Corporation and Koos Klein, President - Middle East & Asia Pacific, Hilton Hotels Corporation.
