Traders Hotels' budding "Traders Travel Tips" campaign has quickly become a repository for insider advice, with hundreds of business travellers sharing their collective wisdom and insights. Since its launch in October 2004, Traders Hotels' guests and travellers from across the globe have submitted more than 200 suggestions for stress-free travel.

Tapping an extensive community of veteran travellers, some of the tried-and-true travel secrets and recommendations include:

  • Scan your important ID documents and then email them to yourself, just in case you ever lose them"
  • Check in the flight on line 24 hours in advance to secure a good seat";
  • If the taxi queues are way too long at Bangkok Airport, walk upstairs to where the departing passengers are being dropped off. You will get one much faster";
  • At check-in, ask for your bags to be marked 'fragile'. They are more likely to come out first at the baggage claim;
  • You're taking the Airport Express from Check Lap Kok in Hong Kong, get into the fifth carriage from the front and be first out to the taxis in Central";
  • When you land in Dubai, take the lifts from the arrival gate to the immigration floor. You'll avoid at least three escalators and beat the crowds too";
  • On most domestic flights in China, you can upgrade to Business Class from just US$30. So save yourself time and travel in style";
Travellers everywhere can share their suggestions for stress-free travel by sending ideas to traveltips@tradershotels.com or submitting tips during their stay at a Traders Hotel. The best "Traders Travel Tips" are featured in Traders Hotels' advertising, running in Asia regional newspapers through 2005, with selected contributors receiving a two-night stay at the Traders hotel of his or her choice.

"We're excited about the strong response to the 'Traders Travel Tips' campaign. It creates an easy platform for smart travellers to share secrets and shortcuts that make business trips more efficient, comfortable and affordable," said Brendan Inns, vice president of corporate marketing.
