Dubai Frame – an architectural wonder, bridging the past and the present, with spectacular views of Dubai’s most iconic landmarks has opened to the public.

Located in Zaabeel Park, the new structure is in the form of a giant frame, with two 150-metre high towers connected by a 93-metre glass bridge at the top of the towers. Hussain Nasser Lootah, director-general of the Dubai Municipality, said: “Initially, we had first thought of having silver colour, but that was not giving the required aesthetic beauty of the structure.”

The frame is now covered by a stainless-steel gold cladding with an Expo2020-inspired design that Lootah said is used for the first time and is the reason behind the "frame's brightness".

Dubai Frame is expected to attract two million visitors a year and join the list of Dubai’s must-see attractions, such as the Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab. The interactive one-hour journey through time begins once visitors step into the lobby on the mezzanine level of the structure where the museum is located. As they step inside, guests experience the evolution of Dubai and its rich history on a journey to the old city and the past.

Once complete, a panoramic elevator transports visitors in one-minute up to the glass bridge Skydeck, where they can take in the 360-degree views over iconic areas, such as Deira, Umm Hurair, Bur Dubai and Karama, which symbolize old Dubai to the north, and the tall skyscrapers of Sheikh Zayed Road, the Burj Khalifa and the Emirates Towers that symbolize new Dubai to the south.

Through the latest technologies, visitors can explore the many facets of present Dubai, including its world-renowned architecture, economy, and infrastructure. As the fully immersive Skydeck experience concludes, guests then experience the future of Dubai, located back on the mezzanine floor of the Dubai Frame. Through a virtual futuristic gallery, visitors of Dubai Frame will get a glimpse of Dubai 50 years from now.

  • The frame measures 150 metres high and 93 metres wide.
  • The two towers are connected by a 100-square-metre bridge, which has a 25-square-metre glass panel in the middle offering a great 360 degree view.
  • It was designed by award-winning architect Fernando Donis, who also designed Dubai’s Porsche Design Towers, and the Dubai Renaissance Tower.
  • Exterior design of Dubai Frame was inspired from the logo of Expo 2020.
  • There is a museum on the ground floor that will showcase Dubai’s transformation from fishing village to metropolis.
  • It is predicted the frame will become a major tourist destination in the city, like the Burj Khalifa and the Burj Al Arab.
  • The project is worth Dhs160 million.
