AccorHotels counts among the first apps available in France on the Actions on Google platform, which lets brands create applications – known as 'Actions' – for Google Assistant, so since October 26, it has therefore been possible to interact with Phil, the AccorHotels bot, using Google Assistant.

A simple instruction – “Ok Google, I want to talk to AccorHotels” - and the conversation starts on smartphones (Android and iOS), the hands-free smart speaker Google Home or any compatible device.

A real expert on the Group’s hotels, Phil can inform in French on the available facilities (parking, meeting rooms, etc.) as well as practical information about the selected hotel (opening hours, location etc.). To make a reservation, the user is for now invited to use the app or visit AccorHotels.com.

Created by the Group’s mobile division and unveiled on Facebook Messenger in May 2017, drawing on its interactions with customers Phil has in record time managed to learn virtually everything there is to know about the Group’s 4,200-plus locations. Now equipped with a voice, Phil will soon be able to interact in a more personalized way and, for example, suggest places to eat from the Group’s 3,000-plus restaurants or find a hotel according to the preferences expressed by the user (boutique hotel, located near the sea or a golf course, etc.).

The launch of Phil on Google Assistant is the latest service developed by the Group in recent months to assist travelers before, during and after their stay.

“Being available on Google Assistant, AccorHotels is positioning itself at the forefront of the latest technology innovations and is fully embracing the era of intelligent interactive conversation. In line with our other digital services, Phil was designed and then built with the clear target of anticipating the future needs of customers and harnessing digital technologies to meet their expectations. We firmly believe in Phil’s high potential to learn, which promises some great conversations between travelers and AccorHotels’ young digital concierge”, said Soumia Hadjali, AccorHotels VP – Digital Operations.

Initially available on Google Assistant in France, Phil will be available to assist American, Canadian, and British users from next year.
