Exotic or earthy? The Hotel design opinions tend to differ;
Clear trend in hotel design is local tied, the relation to the environment and nature, in short: Design which leaves you firmly grounded.
New examples from around the world show this, as TOPHOTELPROJECTS, the leading information provider for hotel chains and hotel construction projects, has researched. The small beach resort Uxua in Brazil is a prime example: Twelve converted houses and Villas ("Casa") where 99 percent is comfortably furnished with local materials exclusively made by local craftsman.
In terms of style, authenticity and sustainability the Uxua definitely is equal to the in the nearby World Cup base of the German national football team - built by the Munich real estate investors, "Campo Bahia".
Equipping facilities with local materials is relatively simple, with eucalyptus wood for example. Unsurprisingly high are the costs of these noble features in the beach villas - the price for one night is about 490 U.S dollars.
Almost half costs a room in another "Jungle Hotel". The "Urban Jungle" room in the new Berlin design hotel 25hours "bikini" in Berlin are very affine to the environment in concrete designed with some supple wood. Ethnic lending bicycles in the room - "the" Transportation in the city - and to-ceiling windows to the zoo; in the morning we are woken up by tiger's roar and monkey noise.
The designers of furniture and object designer Werner Aisslinger is a unique and at the same peculiar blend succeeded: In fabric-covered cube is sprawls in the lobby, listening to their own sound - the reception looks like a service station in the subway (actually originate the turquoise tiles from the Berlin underground from the central Alexanderplatz) - and in hammocks they relax after tedious journey. Casual Chick and free choice of form, color and style are here as inconspicuous normal, like a wool cap in summer.
Hotel design may be naughty and expression of pure joy. Because not everything has to be thought out and rigorously planned, such as the Generator Hostel shows in Barcelona.
The common room (bar / lobby) is dominated by colorful lights and seems like a Tibetan prayer room. The 300 lanterns are reminiscent of a held annually Lantern Festival with tradition.
With wooden elegance can be perform magic- and sustainably. This shows that in December opened InterContinental Resort in Davos with its distinctive wooden facade in the middle of the Alps (a celebrated concept by Matteo Thun).
Also new - and even more impressive - is the Andaz Hyatt Resort on the Papagayo Peninsula in Costa Rica. How large nests appear entrance and lobby; inspired by the dwellings of an indigenous species. The rooms decorated with weavings and artwork from local craft. For a lifestyle hotel of the modern generation of Andaz is a successful exception.
