Pelican system offers room rate and allotment management for Internet Users, Travel Agents and Corporate clients.

PELICAN is a web-based hotel e-distribution & reservation system which provides the hotel industry with more effective ways to distribute room rates and inventories (allotments) to travel agents, corporate clients and Internet users worldwide. Pelican is designed to manage the growing number of reservations that are not made through a GDS. Pelican System gives a hotel 100% rate control, with real-time information updates and instant confirmation.

This innovative Internet-based system was developed in response to the worldwide interest from hoteliers for a means to maintain full control of room rates and room inventory. The Pelican System addresses several common problems faced by hotels wanting to increase occupancy rates and yield:
  • Distributing "last minute" rates to travel agents, corporate clients and Internet users – To maximize yield and reduce the possibility of unsold room-nights, hotels must adjust room rates on a weekly or even a daily basis to conform to seasonal demand and prevailing markets. However, many hotels have difficulty distributing new rates to large numbers of travel agents, corporate clients, or Internet users. The Pelican system can distribute announcements and other information instantly to agents and clients throughout the world.
  • Losing control over room rates and room allotment – Agreements with travel agencies and/or corporate clients often involve written contracts valid for six to twelve months. The hotel is obliged to honor the lower contracted rates even during periods of high market demand. Since these contracts also allot a certain number of rooms to the client, the hotel effective loses control over the disposition of these rooms during the contract period. With Pelican, hotels need not enter into long-term contracts to ensure room-night sales throughout the year.
  • Distributing room allotments – Manually issuing room allotments to individual travel agents and corporate clients is costly, time-consuming, and subject to error. The Pelican System solves this problem by automating the allotment process. The hotel can determine room allotments for a specific group or type of client, which can then be shared by hundreds or even thousands of agents and corporate clients worldwide, optimizing room allocations and providing equal opportunities to all clients.
  • Distribution costs – Pelican System's Internet-based technology allows a hotel to make considerable savings in distribution expenses. Room rates and allotments can be distributed globally at minimal cost.
Pelican System is user friendly and can increase dramatically the hotel's capacity to handle travel agents and/or corporate clients.
Pelican System lets a hotel deal directly with travel agents and/or corporate clients, eliminating unnecessary intermediaries.
Pelican System provides state-of-the-art technology at the fraction of the cost of other reservation systems.
Pelican System is suitable for small or large, independent or franchised, rated or non-rated hotels.
