For most people, the prospect of getting away from it all on holiday usually means a chance to lounge by the pool with a cocktail or take a leisurely wander around town.

For many thrill-seekers however, the real escape only happens when a high adrenalin buzz is involved.

Thought to be the largest attraction of its kind, Ferrari World is the ultimate for fans of the Italian sports car giant. As well as featuring the world's fastest rollercoaster, the Formula Rossa,
speed junkies can also a sample a 62mph G-force experience, a state-of-the-art racing simulator and test their skills at a special driving school.

Swimming with Crocodiles, Australia
A diving experience with a difference, Crocosaurus Cove in Darwin allows those who are brave enough the chance to swim with one of the world's most dangerous animals. Visitors can enter the ‘Cage of Death', a 15 foot deep cage which is submerged in the water and surrounded by huge crocodiles, many of whom which grow to 15 feet long. See you later, alligator!

Running with Bulls, Spain
Part of a celebration that goes back to the 14th century, running with the bulls in Pamplona, northern Spain is now a popular draw for visitors around the world. A group of angry bulls are let loose on the streets, where thousands of people run alongside, hoping to get close enough to see the whites of the bulls eyes while avoiding their deadly horns. Many have died during the running of the bulls, but it still remains a popular practice for adrenalin junkies.

Bungee Jumping, Macau
Often referred to as the Las Vegas of Asia, Macau's casinos are a real draw for gamblers, but for the ultimate adrenalin rush why not try the world's highest bungee jump from the top of the 233m tall Macau Tower. For around £100, brave jumpers hurtle towards earth at an incredible 220km per hour during a five second free-fall.

Shark Diving, South Africa
The prospect of coming face to face with nature's most feared predator, the Great White Shark, is probably something most people would like to avoid. However, danger junkies looking to get their adrenalin fix might enjoy a trip to White Shark Adventure on Dyer Island, where they can dive into a purpose-built five-man galvanised steel cage where the sharks will be waiting only feet away.
