A conversation with Mr Serge Denis, Managing Director of The Langham, Boston, a member of The Leading Hotels of the World.

What is unique about your hotel's location?

The Langham, Boston was once the Federal Reserve Bank and is a national architectural landmark. An ideal downtown location, the hotel offers a unique blend of historic charm and urban sophistication.

The hotel is located within walking distance to the finest shopping and attractions including: Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Boston Common, the Freedom Trail, the Theater District and the waterfront.

What authentic local experiences will guests have access to?

Guests can walk to the waterfront for fresh seafood including clam chowder, steamed lobster, or a lobster roll. The North End of Boston is one of Boston's oldest neighborhoods known for Italian culture and over 100 restaurants.

What are some amazing things that your Concierge can arrange?

The Concierge can arrange a variety of tours of Boston - on land with a trolley tour; by sea on a Boston Harbor boat cruise; or by land and sea with Boston's famous Duck Tour, in a World War II amphibious landing vehicle.

Does your hotel have a philosophy?

The Langham, Boston is a luxury hotel with a heritage of timeless elegance. Langham Hotels International began in 1865 when The Langham opened in London as Europe's first 'Grand Hotel'.

Our hotel enchants guests with elegance in design, innovation in hospitality, and genuine service.

What makes your hotel memorable and unforgettable?

The Langham, Boston offers enchanting service in a landmark setting. We offer exceptional guest service without being overpowering.

What will guests rave about to their friends and family?

Guests will rave about the service, the location, luxurious accommodations, and the incredible culinary options in the hotel.

What is the atmosphere of your hotel? What types of guests does it attract?

The Langham, Boston is a tranquil haven of luxury in the center of Massachusetts' economic and cultural heartland. The hotel attracts a variety of guests from business travelers, to meeting attendees, to weekend city visitors, to families.

What makes your hotel a destination within itself?

If a guest should choose not to leave the hotel, there are a variety of activities and culinary options to keep them entertained. Chuan Body + Soul is our fitness center and spa located on the third floor of the hotel. Chuan features spa treatments based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) as well as an indoor pool, sauna, whirlpool, and two-level fitness center.

The Langham, Boston also offers a variety of culinary delights with BOND restaurant and lounge, serving small plates of global cuisine; a Saturday Chocolate Bar with a huge array of desserts, and a Sunday Brunch with offerings to please everyone.

Do you have a favorite meal in your restaurant(s)?

If someone wanted to make a meal out of chocolate, the Saturday Chocolate Bar would be the place to do it. The seasonal Chocolate Bar is held every Saturday from September through June and features a chocolate wonderland by pastry chef, Jed Hackney. Now entering the 21st season, guests can enjoy plate after plate of gourmet desserts.

What is the best way for guests to "arrive in style" to your hotel?

Our Concierge can arrange a variety of transportation services such as a town car, limousine, or a Mercedes S Class Sedan to arrive at the hotel in style. If you are out and about in town, a horse and carriage can return you to the hotel.

Do you provide any welcoming or parting amenities to guests?

We offer a special children's check-in as well as welcome gift. If guests are part of Langham's 1865 loyalty program, they receive special amenities and services.

Can you recommend other destinations/hotels nearby (within 300 miles) that your guests should consider combining into a trip?

New England has so many adventures available to please shoppers, beach lovers, or quaint historic towns. Wrenthem Village offers 170 outlet stores located 45 minutes from Boston. The North Shore, South Shore, and Cape Cod are all within two hours of Boston and offer scenic beaches along the Atlantic Ocean.

Small towns in New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine are perfect destinations to add on after a city trip in Boston.
