THE AMERICAS

Alinio Azevedo has been named Chief Operating Officer at the Aspen Skiing Company. Azevedo most recently served as Vice President for Loews Hotels and Resorts. Prior to that, he spent eight years at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts with his most recent role as Vice President of Development, Americas.

John Lawn has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer at Hershey Entertainment & Resorts, taking over for Bill Simpson, who is retiring at the end of the year. Lawn had been serving as President since October 2016 after joining the company in 2004 as Director of Food and Beverage.

Ken Greene has been named Head of Americas at Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group in Minneapolis. He is the former Chief Executive Officer of Greenehouse Consulting and President and Chief Executive Officer for Delta Hotels and Resorts.

Michael Schmid has been named General Manager of the Four Seasons Hotel São Paulo at Nacoes Unidas. The Lausanne graduate was most recently General Manager of the Park Hyatt Mallorca.

Luigi Romaniello has been appointed Managing Director of the Rosewood Baha Mar. Most recently, Romaniello was Managing Director of the Rosewood Abu Dhabi.

Andreas Pade takes over for Edward Linsley with a promotion to Managing Director at Rosewood Little Dix Bay. Pade had joined the resort in 2015 as Resort Manager.

John Power has been appointed General Manager at the Loews Hotel 1000, Seattle. He was most recently serving as Managing Director of the Loews Minneapolis Hotel.

Tom Haines has been promoted to Vice President of Operations of Mainsail Lodging & Development, Epicurean’s parent company. He was most recently the General Manager of the Epicurean Hotel in Tampa.

Kevin Scott has taken over from Tom Haines as General Manager at the Epicurean Hotel Tampa. Scott was most recently overseeing the Hotel Max in Seattle.

Lausanne graduate Michael Hoffmann has joined Belmond’s The Inn at Perry Cabin as General Manager. He was most recently with the Waldorf=Astoria New York as Managing Director. Hoffmann is the former Vice President, Luxury & Lifestyle Brands, of Hilton Hotels and Managing Director of the Boulders Resort and Golden Door Spa for eight years.

Chintan Dadhich has joined the Hotel Conrad Fort Lauderdale as General Manager. He is the former Resort Manager and Director of Operations for Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts at the Arizona Biltmore.

Dana Orlando has been appointed General Manager at the Hotel Ivy Minneapolis. She is the former Director of Sales Group and Catering at the Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia and Hotel Manager at the Waldorf Astoria Park City.

Michael Ditterline has moved over to the Gwen in Chicago as General Manager. He was most recently in the same position at the Hotel Blake Chicago.

Robert Burnetti has been appointed General Manager at Topnotch Resort. He was previously General Manager of the Hotel Viking in Newport, Rhode Island.

Darren Law has been appointed Senior Vice President of Operations and General Manager at Margaritaville Beach Resort Grand Cayman. Most recently, Law served as the General Manager at the Santa Barbara Beach and Golf Resort for Santa Barbara Plantation Curacao.

Ellen Lemaire has joined the Nopsi Hotel New Orleans as General Manager. She was most recently at the Lodge & Spa at Cordillera as General Manager. Lemaire is the former General Manager at the Eilan Hotel Resort and Spa in San Antonio and the Loews Denver.

Wanda Chan is the new General Manager at the Sheraton San Gabriel. She was most recently overseeing the Millennium Biltmore Hotel, Los Angeles.

Ramon Serrano has joined L’Auberge Carmel as General Manager. He is the former General Manager at the Hotel Griffon & Inn at Union Square, Dunton Hot Springs, and Hotel Les Mars.

Luis Argote has been named Executive Director at Edgemere in Dallas. He is the former General Manager at the Post Oak in Houston and the Four Seasons Bogota.

Shane Krige has joined Bakers Bay Golf and Ocean Club in the Bahamas as General Manager. He is the former General Manager at the Fairmont Washington, D.C., the Ritz-Carlton Bangalore, and The Plaza.

Tod Chambers has been appointed Managing Director for both the Waldorf Astoria Chicago and the Conrad Chicago. Chambers most recently served as General Manager of sister property, the Roosevelt New Orleans.

Lucy Martin has been appointed General Manager at the Celino South Beach. Martin was most recently the General Manager at the Shore Club South Beach and part of the pre-opening leadership team for 1 Hotel South Beach.

Simon Antoine is now in Washington, D.C. as General Manager for the InterContinental The Wharf. He is the former General Manager at the InterContinental New York Times Square and the InterContinental Toronto Yorkville.

David Bueno has been promoted to General Manager at The Jefferson in Washington, D.C. Since 2011 he had served as Hotel Manager.

Kevin Reeder has been appointed General Manager of the The Somerset on Grace Bay in Turks and Caicos Islands. The Cornell graduate spent the past 23 years as General Manager at Belhurst Castle in Geneva, New York.

Collin Ash has been promoted to General Manager at the Sonesta ES Suites Flagstaff. For the past four years he had served the resort as Operations Manager.

André Boersma is heading to the Dominican Republic to oversee operations for Discovery Land’s Playa Grande project. He was most recently the General Manager at Sugar Beach, a Viceroy Resort.

The Allegretto Vineyard Resort in Paso Robles has named Richard Verruni General Manager. Most recently, Verruni served as Managing Director of Bishop’s Lodge Ranch Resort & Spa in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Rancho Bernardo Inn has appointed Jamie Lemon General Manager. Lemon had previously spent 17 years with Loews Hotels & Resorts, most recently as Hotel Manager at the Loews Hollywood Hotel.

Angie Clifton is now in San Francisco as Hotel Manager at the Palace. She was most recently the Director of Operations at the Westin Washington, D.C. and Hotel Manager at the Fairmont Copley Plaza.

Kurt Hanson has been appointed Hotel Manager of the Westin St. Francis. Hanson was most recently with the Westin Los Angeles Airport as Director of Operations.

Sheila Buciuman has moved to the St. Regis Atlanta as Director of Operations. She was most recently serving as Executive Assistant Manager Rooms at the Ritz-Carlton Atlanta.

Michael Ploetz has joined Las Alcobas Napa Valley as Director of Food and Beverage. He was most recently overseeing Finn Town in San Francisco. Ploetz is the former Director of Food and Beverage of the Peninsula Beverly Hills and Director of Operations for Michael Voltaggio’s Ink.

Henry Wallace has been named Director of Food and Beverage for The Essex in Vermont. The CIA graduate was most recently Director of Food and Beverage and Executive Chef for the Ames Boston Hotel.

Joe Martin has been named Food and Beverage Director at The Camby (the former Ritz-Carlton Phoenix). Most recently, Martin served as Director of Food and Beverage at the Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain Resort and Spa and the Shade Hotel in Manhattan Beach.

Anthony Beckerley has been named Director of Food and Beverage for the Snow King Resort. He is the former General Manager for the Yosemite Valley Lodge and the Atlantic Oceanside Hotel of Bar Harbor, Maine.

Leslie Schultz has been promoted at IIG to Vice President of Design. She joined the company in 2016 as Director of Design.

Randy Neitzel is the new Director of Human Resources at Canyon Ranch-Tucson. He was most recently with Alyeska Resort & The Hotel Alyeska as Human Resources Director and Resort Risk Manager.

Allison Reid has been appointed Chief Development Officer at Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants. She is the former Senior Vice President, North America Development, for Starwood Hotels & Resorts.

The Aparium Hotel Group has named John Farris Chief Marketing Officer. Farris most recently served as Director of Global Brand and Marketing/Alliances and Business Development for Harley-Davidson.

Julie Barrow has been named pre-opening Director of Sales and Marketing at the Four Seasons Philadelphia, opening in Summer 2018. She was most recently at the Four Seasons Houston as Director of Sales and Marketing.

Andrea Carneiro has been named pre-opening Director of Sales and Marketing for the Four Seasons Hotel São Paulo. She is the former Director of Marketing at the St. Regis Punta Mita and, most recently, the St. Regis Mexico City.

Brian Honan has moved to The Plaza as Director of Sales and Marketing. He had previously overseen sales and marketing for the Trump International Soho, the New York Palace, and the Four Seasons New York.

Manya duHoffmann has moved to the Mondrian Park Avenue as Director of Sales and Marketing. She is the former Director of Sales and Marketing at the Refinery Hotel New York, the Thompson LES, and GFI Hotels.

Katy Eagen has been named Vice President of Sales, Group Insurance and Financial Services at Preferred Hotels & Resorts in Washington, D.C. Most recently, she spent nearly 10 years serving as Global Account Director, Insurance and Financial for Starwood Hotels & Resorts.

Elizabeth Allen has been named Director of Sales and Marketing for Capella Hotels’ Solis Two Porsche Drive in Atlanta. She was most recently overseeing sales and marketing at Rosewood’s Inn of the Anasazi. Allen is the former Director of Sales and Marketing for Rosewood’s former Mansion on Peachtree.

Regina Martinez-Ortiz takes over from Elizabeth Allen as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Inn of the Anasazi. She was most recently serving as Director of Sales and Marketing for the Inn and Spa at Loretto.

Kristen Thompson has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing at the Rosewood Baha Mar. She had previously served in sales and marketing at the Four Seasons Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo, the Four Seasons Denver, the Four Seasons Vail, and the Four Seasons Atlanta.

Jorge Collazo has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing at the Silversands Grenada. He had previously overseen sales and marketing for The Betsy South Beach, the Condado Vanderbilt Hotel, and the Gansevoort Hotel Group.

The Dream Hollywood has appointed Danny Benaderet Director of Sales and Marketing. For the past three years he had been with the Loews Hollywood as Director of Sales.

Kerry Mitruska has joined the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort as Director of Sales and Marketing. He was most recently in the same position for the Saddlebrook Resort.

Mark Phillips has been promoted to Director of Sales and Catering at the Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa. For the past three years, he had served as Director of Leisure Sales.

Stephanie Capellas has been appointed at the Vice President of Public Relations for the Cosmopolitan Las Vegas. Capellas was most recently the Director of Global Public Relations at the Hakkasan Group.

Toni Robertson has joined the Peninsula Chicago as Executive Chef. Robertson is the former Executive Chef at the Mandarin-Oriental New York, the Mandarin-Oriental San Francisco, and the former St. Regis Los Angeles.

The Four Seasons Atlanta has appointed Michael Patria as Executive Chef. He was most recently serving as Chef at the Fifth Group Restaurants’ Ecco.

Pietro Consorti has been appointed Executive Chef at the Andaz Wall Street. He was most recently the Executive Chef for the Hyatt Regency Louisville.

Jordan Barnett has been appointed Executive Chef at the St. Regis Atlanta. He is the former Executive Sous Chef at the Ritz-Carlton Toronto.

The Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch has named Joseph Bidwell Executive Chef. Bidwell was most recently in a similar role at the Hyatt Regency Reston.

Eric Damidot is now in Chicago as opening Executive Chef for the Marriott Marquis and Wintrust Arena. He was most recently in the same position for the Hyatt Regency New Orleans. Damidot is the former Executive Chef for Caesar’s Palace, Paris & Hotel and Casino and Bally’s Hotel and Casino.

EUROPE

Marcus van der Wal has left his role as Chief Operating Officer at Kempinski. Bernold Schroeder takes over at Kempinski as Chief Executive Officer Europe. Schroeder is the former Chief Executive Officer at Pan Pacific Hotels Group and Chief Executive Officer at Jin Jiang International.

Paul Roberts has re-joined his former boss Gary Davis at the Village Hotel Club as Chief Executive Officer. Roberts was most recently the Chief Executive of Malmaison and Hotel du Vin.

Maximilian von Reden is the new General Manager at the Mandarin Oriental Prague. He was most recently the General Manager at the Mandarin Oriental Jakarta.

François Arrighi has been appointed General Manager at the Four Seasons Megève. Arrighi was most recently at the Four Seasons George V as Hotel Manager.

Franck Sibille has joined the Park Hyatt Mallorca as General Manager. He had previously overseen the Fairmont Rey Juan Carlos I in Barcelona and the Mandarin Oriental Jnan Rahma in Marrakech.

Rafael Gonzalez has been named General Manager of the Hotel Camiral at PGA Catalunya Resort in Spain. He was most recently with the Ritz-Carlton Bali.

Leo Maissen has been promoted to Chief Development Officer of the Tschuggen Hotel Group, based in Zurich. He was most recently overseeing the Tschuggen Grand Hotel.

Stefan Noll takes over from Leo Maissen as General Manager of the Tschuggen Grand Hotel. Noll was most recently serving as Executive Assistant Manager of the Badrutt’s Palace Hotel in St. Moritz.

Simon Hirst has returned to London and One Aldwych as General Manager. He had previously served in the same post before taking on the positions of General Manager at the Raffles Seychelles and the Raffles Singapore.

Adare Manor in Limerick, Ireland has appointed Paul Heery General Manager. He is the former General Manager of Gleneagles in Scotland. Heery is the former Hotel Operations Manager at the Connaught in London and Deputy General Manager at the Merrion Hotel in Dublin.

Franck Kermarrec has been appointed Global Chief Marketing Officer at Millennium Hotels and Resorts in London. Since 2016, he had been with Hertz International as Head of Business Strategy. Kermarrec is the former Global Brand and Commercial Strategy Director for InterContinental Hotels Group.

Gérard Riera has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing at the Columbus Monte-Carlo in Monaco. He had previously served in sales positions for the InterContinental Carlton in Cannes and the Fairmont Rey Juan Carlos I in Barcelona.

Amanda Ellis has been appointed National Account Manager at the Fairmont St. Andrews. She was most recently at Gleneagles.

Barry Vera has been named Managing Director of London event catering company Create Food. He was most recently with the ME Hotel London as Executive Chef.

The ME Hotel London has appointed Vincent Ménager Executive Chef, replacing Barry Vera. He is the former Executive Head Chef at Rhubarb Events London and the Sofitel St. James London.

Julien Jouhannaud has joined Annabel’s and Birley Clubs in London as Executive Head Chef. He was most recently Executive Chef and Corporate Chef Le Bilboquet Restaurants. Jouhannaud is the former Executive Chef of Adour at the St. Regis New York and Adour at the St. Regis Washington, D.C.

Chris Rees has been appointed Executive Chef at Galgorm Resort and Spa in Ireland, replacing Jonathan Boyd. He had previously worked at the one-Michelin-starred Ox Restaurant in Belfast.

Ben Abercrombie has been appointed Head Chef at Apex City of Bath Hotel, which is due to open in August. He had previously served in similar roles at the Queen’s Arms in Somerset and the Bath Arms in Wiltshire.

Monica Eisen takes over from Pierre Kermanac’h with her promotion to Director of Rooms at the Four Seasons George V. Since 2015, she had been serving as Assistant Director of Rooms.

Philippe Requin, a truly international hotelman whose career took place mainly in Asia and the Indian Ocean, has died. He was most recently the General Manager of Scotland’s Skibo Castle.

Legendary French Chef Alain Senderens has died. He was 77. A true alchemist of food, he was known for researching antique recipes and adapting them to modern tastes. He also innovated when he created such dishes as his famous Roast Lobster with Vanilla. His first restaurant, L’Archestrate, is now the site of Alain Passard‘s Arpège. Senderens then moved on to Lucas-Carton.

Laurent Jeannin, the Pastry Chef at Paris’ Hotel Bristol, has died at age 49. He had been at the Bristol for 10 years, after the reopening of the Four Seasons George V following a long stint at the Hotel de Crillon.

ASIA AND THE PACIFIC

Oliver Bonke has joined Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts as President and Chief Operating Officer. He was most recently serving as Chief Commercial Officer for Loews Hotels.

Andrew Abram has been appointed General Manager at the Mandarin Oriental Jakarta, replacing Maximilian von Reden. Abram is the former Managing Director at the Niccolo Chengdu and the Raffles Dubai.

Clemens Hoerth has been named General Manager at the Mandarin Oriental Pudong, Shanghai. He was most recently overseeing the Mandarin Oriental Guangzhou.

Fernando Gibaja has joined the Hotel Capella Singapore as General Manager. Gibaja is the former General Manager of the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray and the Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel & Spa.

The Four Seasons Koh Samui has named Simone Cerea Director of Food and Beverage. Since 2012, he had been with the Regent Singapore as Executive Chef.

Regent Hotels has named Venessa Koo Senior Vice President of Development and Technical Service. Most recently, she was with AccorHotels as the Vice President of Development â€" Southeast & Northeast Asia.

Lauren Rawlins has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing at the Hyatt Centric Waikiki. Rawlins was most recently the Director of Leisure Sales at Turtle Bay Resort.

Nicola Van Heemsbergen has joined the Peninsula Manila as Executive Sous Chef. He was most recently the Executive Chef de Cuisine at Rise in the Marina Bay Sands.

MIDDLE EAST AND AFRICA

Edward Linsley has joined the Four Seasons Seychelles at Desroches Island as General Manager. For the past four years, he had been overseeing Rosewood’s Little Dix Bay.

The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai International Financial Centre has appointed Raghu Menon General Manager. Menon was previously the General Manager of the Ritz-Carlton Bangalore.

Nick Heath has been appointed General Manager at the Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal. He is the former General Manager of the W Bangkok and the W Seoul-Walkerhill.

Wassim Tarabay has been appointed General Manager of the Radisson Blu Resort, Al Khobar Half Moon Bay in Saudi Arabia. He was most recently the Hotel Manager of the Radisson Blu Riyadh.

Emmanuel Richardet has been named General Manager of the Westin Turtle Bay and Spa, Mauritius. Richardet was most recently the General Manager of the Westin Vendôme in Paris.

The Four Seasons Sharm El Sheikh has promoted Waleed Sobhy to Resort Manager. He is the former Director of Food and Beverage at the resort and at the Four Seasons Cairo at First Residence.

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has named Huda Malhas Director of Hotel Marketing, Middle East and Africa based in Dubai. She was most recently serving in the same office as Director of Marketing Communications.

The Four Seasons Sharm El Sheikh has appointed Hatem Abaza Director of Sales and Marketing. Abaza was most recently with the Four Seasons Cairo, First Residence, as Director of Sales.

Pierre Kermanac’h has been named Director of Rooms at the Four Seasons Marrakech. He was most recently in the same position with the Four Seasons George V.

The Four Seasons Cairo at First Residence has named Emil Marcus Director of Rooms. He was most recently in the same role at the Four Seasons Sharm El Sheikh.
