THE AMERICAS

Paul Pusateri has moved to The Palms in Las Vegas as President. For the past seven years, he had been with the Venetian and the Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino, as Senior Vice President Operations. He had previously spent thirteen years with Four Seasons in Beverly Hills, San Francisco and Chicago before heading to Las Vegas to serve as President/Chief Operations Officer for Bally's and the Paris Casino Resort.

Taking over from Paul Pusateri as Senior Vice President of Operations at the Venetian and Palazzo is Pete Boyd, previously the properties' Vice President of Food and Beverage.

Also decamping from the Las Vegas Sands Corp. (Venetian/Palazzo) is Jeff Burge, Vice President of Finance, who is joining the Cosmopolitan as Chief Financial Officer.

LaSalle Hotel Properties has promoted Michael Barnello Chief Executive Officer, replacing Jon E. Bortz who is retiring. Barnello joined the company in 1998 as Chief Operating Officer and was promoted last year to President.

Vail Resorts has promoted Paul Toner to Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of RockResorts and Vail Resorts Hospitality. Since 2008, he had been Vice President of Sales and Marketing for RockResorts and Vail Resorts Hospitality. He had previously served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Marriott Hong Kong Regional Office.

Orient-Express Hotels has promoted Filip Boyen to the position of Chief Operating Officer. Boyen has been with the company since 1997 most recently as Vice President, Operations. He had started with the group as General Manager of the Bora Bora Lagoon Resort and later promoted to Area Vice President of Orient Express properties in Peru, prior to seeing additional responsibilities over Australia and Africa.

Phillip Gesue has been promoted with Orient-Express Hotels to Vice President, Real Estate, after joining the company in March as Director of Global Real Estate. He had previously been with Time Equities as Director of Acquisitions and Development.

Matthew Sparks has been appointed Senior Vice President of Development for Wyndham Hotels and Resorts. Most recently, he was Senior Vice President of Global Development for Fairmont Raffles Hotels International, based in Singapore.

Patricia Campbell has taken over for Lucy Kay as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Breckenridge Resort. Campbell was most recently serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Keystone with Vail Resorts.

The Preferred Hotel Group has named Peter Kressaty Regional Director, Florida. He was most recently a Senior Vice President at Carino Hotels & Resorts. Kressaty had previously held the positions of General Manager at the Lowell in New York and Operations Director at the Yale Club.

Sal Abaunza has joined the Carmel Valley Ranch as General Manager. For the past six years, he had been the General Manager of the Mandarin Oriental San Francisco. He had previously served as General Manager at Ventana Big Sur, the Prescott Hotel in San Francisco and the Highlands Inn in Carmel.

William Sander has been named General Manager of the Seagate Hotel & Spa in Delray Beach, set to open in November. For the past nine years, he was the General Manager of XV Beacon in Boston. His previous positions include serving as Director of Room Operations at the Charles Hotel in Cambridge and as Director of Food and Beverage at the Boston Harbor Hotel.

The Westin Aruba has promoted Richard Roy to General Manager. He joined the resort in 2007 as Hotel Manager and most recently was serving as Acting General Manager. Roy had previously held the position of Hotel Manager at the Westin La Cantera Resort in San Antonio and that of Director of Operations at the Westin Buckhead.  

Christopher Holbrook has moved to the Mark Hopkins InterContinental in San Francisco as General Manager. He had previously served as Hotel Manager across town at the InterContinental San Francisco. Previous positions include General Manager at the Monticello Inn, Executive Assistant Manager at the Hotel Monaco New Orleans as well as the Hotel Monaco San Francisco.

Arpad Romandy has moved to the InterContinental Harbor Court in Baltimore as General Manager. He had previously been with the Barclay InterContinental New York as Resident Manager.

The Fairmont Scottsdale has appointed Jack Miller General Manager. He was most recently serving as General Manager for the InterContinental Miami. In Scottsdale, he replaces Robert Foster, who has left the company.

David Martin has been appointed General Manager for the Faculty House of Columbia University in New York City. He was most recently the Director of Food and Beverage at the Parker Méridien Hotel. Prior to that, Martin worked at several New York City properties in food and beverage operations including the Ritz-Carlton Battery Park, the Drake and the Waldorf=Astoria.

Kaan Caglar has joined the Inn at Little Washington as General Manager. For the past five years, he had served as General Manager at the Lodge at Sea Island.

Henri Birmele has joined the Sheraton Universal as General Manager, taking over from Peter Walterspiel who has relocated to Colorado. Birmele was most recently with Magna Hospitality as Vice President Hospitality, based in Los Angeles. He had previously been the General Manager at Shutters on the Beach, the Hotel Manager at the Viceroy Santa Monica and the Hotel Manager at the former St. Regis Los Angeles and the St. Regis Washington, DC.

Colin Gold has been promoted to General Manager at the Trump International Sunny Isles Beach, taking over from Jens Grafe. Gold has been with Trump since 2004 and was previously the Resort Manager at the property. He had also been with the Stanhope Park Hyatt New York as Executive Assistant Manager for three years.

Jerome Strack has been appointed General Manager of the Wine Country Inn in Colorado. He had previously served as President of Julius Hospitality Consulting and Vice President/General Manager of the Saguaro Ranch Development project, in Arizona.

The Blackstone in Chicago has named Matt Balcik Hotel Manager. Balcik spent the past year as General Manager of Peter Island Resort in the British Virgin Islands.

Attila Gyulai has been promoted to Director of Operations at the Elysian Hotel in Chicago. He had joined the hotel last year as Director of Food and Beverage. Previous positions include Director of Food and Beverage at the Four Seasons Gresham Palace Budapest and the Four Seasons Seattle.

Azamara Cruises has named Bert Van Middendorp Associate Vice President Hotel Operations. He was most recently the Senior Vice President of hotel operations and quality assurance for SeaDream Yacht Club.

Reginald Archambault has joined Ocean Boulevard Properties in Santa Monica as Property Manager. Until recently, he had been with the Hotel Bel-Air as Resident Manager.  He had previously served as Director of Food and Beverage at the Four Seasons Aviara, the Four Seasons Toronto and the Four Seasons Nevis.

Hilton Hotels has appointed Paul Ades Senior Vice President of Labor Relations. Ades most recently served as General Counsel for Labor and Employment for MGM Mirage. Previously, he held the position of Associate General Counsel at Harrah's Entertainment and Caesars Entertainment.

Giorgi di Lemis is the new Corporate Vice President of Food and Beverage at Benchmark Hospitality. Until recently, he had been the Vice President of Food and Beverage for Gaylord Entertainment, following several years in the same role for Wyndham's luxury resort division. At Benchmark, di Lemis replaces Bob Zapatelli, who passed away in the spring.

David Hoemann has joined Sage Hospitality Resources in Denver as Vice President Restaurant Operations. For the past two years, he had been with Joie de Vivre Hotels as Vice President Food and Beverage. He had previously been in Chicago with the Compass Group as Senior Vice President - Retail Brands, Marketing & Creative Services.

Darren Wightman has joined Ping Pong Washington, DC as Director of Food and Beverage. He was most recently with the Innovative Dining Group in Los Angeles, as Director of Operations/Development. Wightman had previously been in London with YO! Sushi as Group Executive Chef/Operations Manager.

The InterContinental San Francisco has appointed Thane Kuhlman Director of Food and Beverage. A Cornell graduate, Kuhlman was most recently at the Presidente InterContinental Mexico City as Executive Assistant Manager in charge of food and beverage. 

The Greenbrier has named Casey Lavin Vice President of Food and Beverage. He was most recently the Director of Food and Beverage for the Sanctuary at Kiawah Island in South Carolina.

Hilton Hotels has named John Vanderslice Global Head of Luxury and Lifestyle Brands. He was most recently the Chief Executive Officer of Miraval. He had previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Club Med Americas.

Accor North America has appointed Sherry Vidal-Brown Executive Vice President, Human Resources. She had held senior positions at DFW International Airport, FedEx-Kinko's, American Airlines and Personnel Decisions International.

Choice Hotels has promoted Patrick Cimerola to Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Administration. Cimerola had served as Choice's Vice President of Human Resources since 2003.

Hilton Hotels has appointed Kurt Weber Senior Director Brand Performance Support, Managed Portfolio. He was most recently serving as Senior Director of Revenue Management in the United States, Caribbean and South America for the company.

Vail Resorts has promoted Heidi Kercher-Pratt to Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, taking over from Derek Koenig. Kercher-Pratt joined Vail Resorts in 1996 as an assistant in the advertising department.

Gordon McKinnon has been named Executive Vice President and Chief Branding Officer for Carlson Hotels Worldwide. He had previously been with Rezidor as Vice President of Brand and Concept Development.

Azamara Cruises has hired Edie Bornstein as Vice President Sales and Marketing. For the past eight years, she had been with Carnival Cruise Lines, most recently as Vice President of Business Development and Partnerships.

Choice Hotels has named Edward Valle Chief Marketing Strategist. He was most recently the Vice President of Marketing for Panera Bread Company.

Alistair Ballantine has joined Oberoi Hotels and Resorts as Senior Vice President Sales and Marketing, North America. The position had been left vacant by Bill Dunphy. Ballantine joins from Orient-Express, where he was Director of Sales and Marketing, the Americas, since June 2005. He had previously spent twenty-five years as President of Abercrombie and Kent.

Dolce Hotels and Resorts has appointed Carol Bullock-Walter to the newly created position of Vice President of Field Sales. She was most recently the Regional Director of Sales and Marketing for the Marshall Hotel Group in New York. She had previously served as Senior Director, Sales Strategy and Operations, for Starwood Hotels & Resorts, General Manager of the Carlton on Madison Avenue and General Manager of the Club Quarters hotel in Boston.

Sage Hospitality has appointed Ted Watson Vice President of Marketing and Sales for its Coco Key Water Resort brand. He was previously the Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Disney Vacation Club.

Timothy Rutland has been appointed Executive Director of Sales and Marketing at the Balboa Bay Club & Resort in Newport Beach, taking over from George Lysak who had left the company. Rutland had spent the past nineteen years with Ritz-Carlton, most recently as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Ritz-Carlton Marina del Rey. He had previously served in sale and marketing positions for the Ritz-Carlton San Francisco, the Ritz-Carlton Washington, DC and the Ritz-Carlton Phoenix.

David Ryan has joined the Pyramid Hotel Group in Berkeley as Regional Director of Sales and Marketing based at the Claremont Hotel and Resort. For the past two years, he had been the Regional Vice President, Sales and Marketing, for Sofitel Luxury Hotels, based in New York. He had previously served in sales and marketing roles for the Hyatt Lake Las Vegas Resort, the Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay and the Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch.

Nicholas Monteleone has joined the Kor Hotel Group (now the Viceroy Hotel Group) in Miami as Director of Sales and Marketing. He was most recently with the Fairmont Turnberry Isle as Director of Group Sales.

Robert Dmuchowski has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing for the Dolce Valley Forge in Pennsylvania. He had previously served as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Sheraton Great Valley, General Manager of the Holiday Inn City Line in Philadelphia and as Corporate Director of Sales and Marketing for Twin Tier Hospitality.

The Blackstone in Chicago has appointed Ryan Buck Director of Sales, Catering and Events. Buck spent the last year as Associate Director of Sales at the Swissôtel Chicago, where he started as a Sales Manager in 2002.

The Glen Cove Mansion has named Alfred Leuthold Director of Sales and Marketing. He was previously the Director of Sales and Marketing for the Hilton Stamford.

Sachiko Takahashi-Soong has been named Associate Director of Sales with Rosewood Hotels and Resorts at Little Dix Bay and Jumby Bay. She was most recently a Senior Sales Manager for the Four Seasons Great Exuma, a New York-based position she held for the past seven years. She had previously served as Sales Manager – North America & Europe, for the Four Seasons Tokyo.

The Roosevelt Hotel in New York has promoted Elio Arrabito to Director, International Sales, after his joining the property six years ago. He had previously served as Senior Sales Manager for the Hotel Pennsylvania and as Director of Sales for Hampshire Hotels and Resorts.

Robert Susswein has been appointed Senior Sales Manager, Corporate and Entertainment Travel, for the Hollywood Roosevelt . He was most recently the National Sales Manager for the Riviera Resort & Spa in Palm Springs. He had previously held various sales positions with the Ritz-Carlton Rancho Mirage, the Le Mérigot Santa Monica, the New York Palace and the Peninsula New York.

ConferenceDirect has appointed Jed Arrogante Global Account Executive. He was most recently the Director of Sales at the Westgate in San Diego. He had previously served as a Senior Sales Manager at the Claremont Resort and Spa in Berkeley and as Sales Manager with the Sheraton Suites Fort Lauderdale.

Murielle Ferdinand has moved back on property to the Sofitel Los Angeles as Associate Director of Sales. She was previously the Director of Entertainment Sales for the hotel, before moving earlier this year to the Sofitel regional office as Regional Sales Director.

Benchmark Hospitality International has promoted Kim Nugent to Vice President Revenue Management. She originally joined Benchmark Hospitality in 2008 serving as Corporate Director of Revenue Management.

Benchmark Hospitality has also promoted Ernesto Velázquez to Area Director of Revenue Management, overseeing the San Antonio market. He was previously the Director of Revenue at the Hotel Contessa in San Antonio.

Benchmark Hospitality has appointed Mary Darre Area Director of Revenue Management. For the past fourteen years, she had been with Hyatt Hotels, most recently as Director of Revenue.

Benchmark Hospitality has promoted Seth Spencer to Area Director of Revenue Management. Spencer was most recently serving as Revenue Manager at the Chattanoogan in Tennessee.

Benchmark Hospitality has promoted Nicole Di Maio to Area Director of Revenue Management. She had previously served as Revenue Manager for the Heldrich Hotel & Spa in New Jersey.

Michelle Auelua has been appointed Area Director of Revenue Management with Benchmark Hospitality. She had previously served as Revenue Manager for the Turtle Bay Resort before being promoted to Director of Revenue in early 2009.

Bruno Davaillon is the new Executive Chef at the Mansion on Turtle Creek. He was most recently serving as Executive Chef for Alain Ducasse at Mix Las Vegas in The Hotel @ Mandalay Bay. He had previously overseen the kitchen at Restaurant Beaucoup in San Francisco, and at Encore at the former St. Regis Los Angeles.

Steven Peterson has moved to the Morgans Hotel Group as Corporate Executive Chef. Before his most recent role with Hilton in the position of Corporate Executive Chef, he had served as Executive Chef at the MGM Grand Resort & Casino in Las Vegas for seven years and as Corporate Chef for Starwood Hotels & Resorts.

Erik Villar has been promoted to Executive Chef at the Calistoga Ranch with Auberge Resorts. He had previously been the Chef de Partie and, most recently, Executive Sous Chef for the hotel.

Bruce Jones has been named Executive Chef for the Hyatt Regency Tamaya in New Mexico. He was most recently in the same position at the Hyatt Regency Cleveland.

Rich Rosendale has returned to the Greenbrier as Executive Chef. He had previously served as Chef de Cuisine at the resort from 2002 to 2006.

Tyler Cyre has returned to Los Angeles to join the kitchen at Raffles L'Ermitage. A Montreal native, he had previously served as Sous Chef at Brasserie, Zucca in Los Angeles and Dolce Vita in New York.

The Allison Inn and Spa has named Executive Chef Nathan Lockwood to oversee their restaurant Jory. He had previously been in Northern California, serving in the kitchen at Fork in San Anselmo, and at Acquerello in San Francisco.

Award-wining Chef Fabio Trabocchi has joined the Four Seasons restaurant in New York, as Executive Chef, taking over from the late Christian Albin. Trabocchi was previously the Chef Partner at the former Fiamma Osteria. He made his name in the United States as the Chef of Maestro, the Five-Diamond restaurant at the Ritz-Carlton Tyson's Corner.

Didier Virot has joined the Fairmont Royal Pavilion in Barbados as Executive Chef. He was previously overseeing the re-opening as Executive Chef for the Plaza Hotel in New York. A former Executive Chef with Jean-Georges Vongerichten at JoJo and at Jean Georges, Virot also had his own restaurant on the Upper West Side, dubbed Aix.

Phillip Yates has been promoted to Executive Head Chef at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City. He joined the property in 2007 as Banquet Sous Chef and was promoted to Executive Banquet Chef, then to his most recent position as Executive Chef.

Jonathan Benno, Chef de Cuisine at Per Se, will leave in late January for the Patina Restaurant Group to be Executive Chef of a restaurant being built in Lincoln Center's plaza, due to open in about a year. He will be succeeded at Per Se by Eli Kaimeh, the Sous Chef.

David Sears has joined the Terranea Resort as Executive Sous Chef. For the past three years, he had been in Florida at Forte at the Ginn Reunion Resort as Chef de Cuisine. He had previously spent two years at the Mandarin Oriental Washington, DC and three years with Ritz-Carlton Hotels.

The Hilton Orlando has named Louis Martorano Banquet Chef. He was most recently the Executive Chef at the Gaylord National Hotel and Resort in National Harbor, Maryland.

Mike Broderick has joined the Hilton Orlando as Restaurant Chef for Spencer's. He was most recently the Chef de Cuisine at Trader Vic's in the Hilton Atlanta & Towers.

Thomas Richard Huebner has joined the Hilton Orlando as Pastry Chef. He most recently served as Executive Pastry Chef for the Arizona Biltmore Resort and Spa in Phoenix and also as Executive Pastry Chef at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville.

Darren Lutz has taken on the role of Manager of Wine and Spirits at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Farmville, Pennsylvania and as Chef Sommelier for their restaurant Lautrec. Lutz had previously served in food and beverage positions for L'Orangerie, Bastide, both in Los Angeles and Joel Robuchon Las Vegas.

Jim Webster has been promoted to Director of Operations for Asia de Cuba in the Mondrian Scottsdale. His most recent position with the resort was as Banquet Manager. He had previously held various roles during his eighteen years with Ritz-Carlton in Phoenix, Rancho Mirage, San Francisco, and Laguna Niguel.

Andrés Sanhueza has moved to the W Santiago as Restaurants and Bar Manager. For the past year, he had been with the Casa de Sierra Nevada in Mexico as Director of Food and Beverage.

Barbara Marie is now in Cabo San Lucas, overseeing Market by Jean-Georges Vongerichten at the One&Only Palmilla, as Restaurant Director. For the past four years, she had been at the Water Grill in Los Angeles as General Manager.

Gilberto Garcia-Tuñon has joined One Bal Harbour as Rooms Director. For the past two years, he had been with Canyon Ranch Miami as Rooms Director. He had previously overseen front office operations for the Shore Club Miami, Le Méridien Sunny Isles Beach and the Mandarin Oriental Miami.

EUROPE

Stefano Gegnacorsi has been appointed General Manager of the Hotel de Russie in Rome. He was most recently the General Manager of the Hotel Savoy in Florence. His previous positions include General Manager of the Palazzo Sasso in Ravello and Director of Sales and Marketing at the Hotel Eden in Rome.

Alberto Pirozzini has replaced Gegnacorsi as General Manager of the Hotel Savoy in Florence. Most recently, he was the General Manager of the Lungarno Hotel in Florence and previously spent six years with the Ritz-Carlton group in California, the Bahamas, the Virgin Islands and the Cayman Islands.

Harold Kluit moves up from his position as Director of Revenue and Marketing at the Swissôtel Amsterdam to take over from Bart Westerhout as General Manager.

Anna Gricini has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing for both the Hotel de Russie and the Hotel Savoy. Her previous roles include serving as Director of Sales and Marketing for the Hotel Principe di Savoia in Milano.

Friederike Lockau has been named Director of Sales and Marketing at Brown's in London. For the past nine years, Lockau had been with Four Seasons, including the last three as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Four Seasons Prague.

Alain Ducasse protégé Didier Eléna will be the new Chef at the Chateau de la Chèvre d'Or, following four years as Chef of Les Crayères in Reims. Eléna was the Chef of Alain Ducasse at the Essex House when it first opened. At La Chèvre d'Or, he takes over from Philippe Labbé, now the Executive Chef of the soon to open Shangri-La Paris.

ASIA AND THE PACIFIC

Ronen Nissenbaum has been appointed Executive Vice President of Operations for the Marina Bay Sands Resort on Singapore's Sentosa Island. He comes from InterContinental where he was most recently the Regional Vice President of Operations, North America. He had originally joined InterContinental in 1996 as Manager for the InterContinental Paris.

Suki Singh has been promoted to the position of Chief Operating Officer with GHM. Singh has been with GHM for seventeen years, most recently serving as Senior Vice President Finance, Administration and Development.

Frances Koh has been appointed Director of Brands for the Pan Pacific Hotels Group. Koh, who joined Pan Pacific this year, was formerly Brands Manager for the group.

Jenny Milner has been appointed Business Development Manager for the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth hotel. Milner was previously working with Starwood and Orient Express.

Minor International has appointed Ross Crowder to the newly created role of Vice President Project Management. Crowder was most recently with Starwood Hotels & Resorts as Regional Director of Design and Technical Services.

Aino Deutsch has been appointed General Manager of the Nam Cuong Hotel in Hanoi and will also assume responsibilities for the hospitality division of the Nam Cuong Group. He was previously the opening General Manager of the Imperial Hotel in Vung Tau, Vietnam.

Tomas Hansson has been appointed General Manager for Le Méridien Qingdao, slated to open in December 2009. He was most recently the opening General Manager of the Sheraton Shenzhen Futian Hotel.

Paul Hugentobler has joined the InterContinental Shenzhen as General Manager. He was most recently the General Manager for the Grand Hyatt Guangzhou. He had previously served as General Manager at the Hyatt Regency Macau, the Hyatt Regency Kinabalu and the Hyatt Regency Xian.

Richard Cooke has moved with Shangri-La to the Traders Kuala Lumpur as General Manager. He was most recently at the Shangri-La Singapore as Hotel Manager. He had previously served at the Shangri-La Hong Kong corporate office as Corporate Director of Food and Beverage and as Hotel Manager at the Pudong Shangri-La.

Bart Westerhout has moved as General Manager to the Swissôtel Tallinn. He was most recently the General Manager at the Swissôtel Amsterdam.

Philip Wei has been named General Manager of the Sofitel Hangzhou Xanadu Resort. Previously, he served as Resident Manager of the Interlaken OCT Hotel Shenzhen as well as being in charge of group marketing for the OCT International hotel management company.

Colin Baker has been appointed General Manager of the Park Plaza Beijing West, which is scheduled to open by the end of 2009. His previous posts included serving as General Manager of the Holiday Inn Adelaide and Parkside Motel, as well as Parkroyal Perth. Most recently, Baker was responsible for twenty-one properties at Accor Premiere Vacation Club.

Volkmar Ruebel has been appointed General Manager of the Maritim Hotel You-Town Beijing. He had previously been with Hilton Hotels for over forty years, most recently as General Manager of the Hilton Shanghai for the past fourteen years.
 
Christina Cheng has been appointed General Manager of the Harbour Plaza 8 Degrees, which is scheduled to open in Hong Kong in October. She was most recently the Director of Sales and Marketing of Harbour Plaza Hotels & Resorts and the Harbour Plaza Hong Kong.

The Shanghai JC Mandarin has appointed George Benney General Manager. After spending twenty-eight years with Hyatt, he worked with the Mandarin Oriental Jakarta and the Sukhothai Bangkok in various positions.

Bradford Rice has been promoted to General Manager at the InterContinental Beijing Financial Street. He joined the company in 2004 as Director of Front Office for the InterContinental Hong Kong and was most recently the Resident Manager of the InterContinental Beijing Financial Street.

Torsten Pinter has been appointed General Manager of the Swissôtel Nai Lert Park in Bangkok. He transfers from his most recent position as General Manager at the Swissôtel Foshan. He had previously served as Director of Food and Beverage at the Swissôtel Berlin, and as Executive Assistant Manager at the Swissôtel Beijing Hong Kong Macau Centre.
 
Jackson Wong has been named General Manager of the Swissôtel Foshan in Guangdong taking over from Torsten Pinter. Wong was most recently at the Garden Hotel in Guangzhou as Assistant General Manager. Prior to this, he was General Manager Sales and Marketing at LNH Hospitality in Guangzhou.

The Pan Pacific Hotels Group has appointed Lloyd Daser Area Vice President, Malaysia and General Manager of the Parkroyal Kuala Lumpur. He had previously served as General Manager of Pan Pacific Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

Greg Liddell has been named General Manager of the Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi in Chiang Mai. He succeeds Mark Bradford, who recently took on the role of General Manager at the Mandarin Oriental Manila. Liddell was most recently with Karma Resorts where he had spent the past four years as Group General Manager.

Damian O'Donnell has moved to the Shangri-La Suzhou as Resident Manager. He was most recently in the same position for Shangri-La's Fijian Resort. He was formerly the Resort Manager of the Evason Hideaway in Vietnam, the Rooms Division Manager on Hayman Island in Australia and, prior to that, with Four Seasons in Chicago, Nevis, Sydney and London.

Mark Hehir has been named General Manager at the Anantara Phuket Resort & Spa, adding to his current position overseeing Anantara Si Kao Resort & Spa. Hehir joined Anantara in June 2007, overseeing the launch of Anantara Seminyak Resort & Spa Bali, before taking on the re-branding and launch of Anantara Si Kao.

Peter Clarke is back in Shanghai, this time as Resident Manager at the Pudong Shangri-La. A few years back, he had opened the Four Seasons Shanghai as Director of Rooms. Clarke, a ten-year Four Seasons veteran, was most recently the Hotel Manager at the Four Seasons Gresham Palace Budapest.

Shaun Dunhofen has moved to the W Retreat and Spa Maldives as Director of Operations. For the past two years, he had been with the Huvafen Fushi Maldives as Rooms Division Manager.

René Van Camp has moved to the Hilton Shanghai as Director of Operations. He was most recently the Executive Assistant Manager at the InterContinental Shanghai.

Michel Seyve has joined the Tian Lai Hotel in China as Director of Food and Beverage/Executive Chef. He was most recently with the Garden Hotel in Guanghzou as Executive Chef. His previous Executive Chef stints include the Bora Bora Nui Resort, the Hotel Nikko Hanoi and the Westin Resort Macau.

Janice Yee has joined Outrigger in the newly created position of Corporate Director of Human Resource Services, to be based in Honolulu. She was most recently the Vice President and Director of Human Resources for Hawaii Health Systems Corporation, a position she held since 1997.

John Votsis has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing at the Trump International Hotel Waikiki Beach Walk, due to open in November. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Sales for Aloha Airlines. He had previously spent over twenty years with American Airlines and served as Regional Director of Sales and Marketing with Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Hilton Resorts Hawaii.

The Sheraton Hanoi has named Audra Arul Director of Sales and Marketing. She was most recently at Le Méridien Nirwana Golf & Spa Resort in Bali and previously opened Le Méridien Shimei Bay Beach Resort & Spa in China.

Pearl Peng has been appointed Director of Marketing of the Beijing Marriott Hotel City Wall. She was most recently the Director of Marketing at the Courtyard by Marriott Beijing Northeast Hotel.

Sara Liu has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing for Le Méridien Qingdao. She had previously held sales and marketing positions for the Westin Beijing Financial Street and the Great Wall Sheraton in Beijing.

The Radisson Hotel Shanghai New World has appointed Samson Zhang Director of Sales and Marketing. He had previously served as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Sheraton Shanghai Pudong and the Sheraton Suzhou as well as task force Director of Sales and Marketing for the Westin Beijing.

Justine Lee has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing of the Shanghai JC Mandarin Hotel. Previously, she was with InterContinental and opened the Crowne Plaza Sun Palace Beijing and the Holiday Inn Beijing Moon River.

The Sheraton Sanya Resort has named Belinda Goh Director of Sales and Marketing. She was most recently with the Grand Hyatt Shanghai as Director of Marketing for three years.

Gary Ma has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing at the Maritim Hotel You-Town Beijing. He was most recently the Director of Sales and Marketing of the Crowne Plaza Beijing.

Michael Faulkner has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing at the Opposite House in Beijing. He had previously been with the Metropolitan in London where he was also the Director of Sales and Marketing.

Marisa Aranha has joined Minor International in the newly created role of Vice President Sales. She was most recently the Regional Director of Sales and Marketing for Starwood Hotels & Resorts across Africa and the Indian Ocean. 

Lyndon Phillips has been appointed Sales Director for the Royal Phuket Marina. Lyndon was previously the International Sales Manager and Head of Real Estate with Engel & Völkers Estate Agents.

Dean Anderson has joined the soon to open Trump International Hotel Waikiki Beach Walk as Director of Revenue Management and Reservations. For the past year, he had been with Destination Resorts Hawaii as Director of Sales and Marketing.

The Hilton Beijing has appointed Christian Bruhns Executive Chef. Bruhns joined Hilton in 1997, holding the position of Executive Sous Chef at the Hilton Shanghai and Executive Chef at the Hilton Sanya Resort & Spa.

Arnaud Berthelier has joined the Peninsula Shanghai as Chef de Cuisine. For the past four years, he had overseen the Dining Room at the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead (which will be closing permanently) as Chef de Cuisine. He had previously overseen the kitchens for the Ritz-Carlton Sharm El Sheik, the Ritz-Carlton Naples and the Ritz-Carlton St Thomas.

Thierry Le Queau has joined the Mandarin Oriental Jakarta as Chef de Cuisine. For the past four years, he had been at the Sofitel Winter Palace Hotel in Egypt as Executive Chef. He had served in various culinary positions for the Sonesta Maho Beach Resort & Casino, the Callaway Garden Resort & Golf in Georgia, and the Hotel Le Goyen in France.

Guillaume Bonnety has moved to the Shangri-La Makati in Manila as Executive Pastry Chef. He was most recently in the same role for the Shangri-La Jakarta.

Yusuf Yaran has been appointed Executive Pastry Chef of the Pudong Shangri-la Shanghai, replacing Philippe Agnese. He was most recently the Executive Pastry Chef at the Makati Shangri-La Manila.

Andre Nurman has moved to Singapore as Director of In-Room Dining for the Marina Bay Sands. He was most recently the Director of Restaurants at the Ritz-Carlton Sanya.

MIDDLE EAST AND AFRICA

Darrell Sheaffer has been hired as Group General Manager for Hospitality Management Company, a subsidiary of United Development (UDC) in Doha, Qatar. UDC is the developer of the Pearl Qatar. Shaeffer joins from Fairmont, where his most recent assignment was as General Manager for the Fairmont Palm Jumeirah and Fairmont Residences Palm Jumeirah, in Dubai. He also was the opening General Manager of the Mandarin Oriental Washington DC.

InterContinental Hotels Group has named Martin van Kan Director of Operations in Oman and General Manager for the Al Bustan Palace InterContinental Muscat. He has been with the group since 1984 and had previously held the position of Area General Manager in Shenzhen, General Manager for the InterContinental Doha and Resident Manager for the InterContinental Phoenicia.

Michael Payne has moved to Dubai to take over as General Manager Special Projects for One&Only Resorts. He was most recently serving as General Manager at the One&Only Reethi Rah in the Maldives.

Ames Robert Wilson has been appointed General Manager of the Dusit Thani Dubai. Wilson has been with Dusit since 2000, most recently serving as Vice President of Operations for all Dusit Princess Hotels & Resorts.

Hala Massaad has been named General Manager of the Hazmieh Rotana, Beirut. She was most recently the Executive Assistant Manager of the City Centre Rotana - Doha.

The Kempinski Ajman has named Christian Wiendieck Hotel Manager. He was most recently at the Kempinski Pragelato Village in Italy as General Manager.

Santhosh Nair has been appointed Director of Finance at the newly opening Aloft Abu Dhabi. He was previously the Director of Finance for Le Méridien Al Sondos Suites and Dar Al Sondos Hotel Apartments.

Duncan Webb has been named Chief Marketing Officer for Amari Hotels and Resorts. Webb has worked for Amari for nearly twenty years and previously held the position of Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

Zee Bassila has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing at the Banyan Tree Al Areen, Bahrain. He was most recently with the InterContinental Hotel Kiev, where he was in charge of the pre-opening Sales and Marketing operations for the past two years.

Patrick Duff has transferred as Executive Chef to the Fairmont Dubai. For the past two years, he had served as Executive Chef for the Fairmont Beijing. He had previously held various culinary positions with the Four Seasons Miami, the Sukhothai in Bangkok, the Phoenician, and the InterContinental Hong Kong.

Didier Gusching has joined the soon to open Media One Hotel as Executive Chef. He was most recently with the Jebel Ali Golf Resort and Spa where he was the Executive Chef.

Chef Andrea Montella has joined Mezzaluna in the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi. He had previously served as Chef in London at Harry's Bar in Mayfair, and Executive Chef at Le Castille in Paris.

Susy Massetti has joined the Sheraton Deira Hotel as Italian Executive Chef. She was previously the Executive Sous Chef for the Sheraton Abu Dhabi Resort & Towers and for the Diplomat Radisson SAS, Bahrain.
