The new agreement will enable Tourism Australia and SIA to jointly fund a range of tourism promotion activities intended to attract more overseas travellers to Australia.

Tourism Australia and Singapore Airlines have signed a three-year commercial agreement that takes effect on July 1 this year.

The new agreement extends Tourism Australia and SIA's 20-year relationship. Tourism Australia Managing Director Andrew McEvoy was quoted in Travel Daily Asia as having said that Singapore Airlines has been a strong partner for them and that they have consistently worked together to market Australia through joint campaigns and other marketing activities.

Singapore Airlines is set to invest close to USD1-million to promote Australia. The airline will then leverage Tourism Australia's marketing power to provide enticing offers to travellers.

The partnership between the airline and the national tourism board aims to target key markets such as China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, UK, Vietnam, and Singapore.
