
Despite a 6.7% year-on-year fall in profits in the first three months of 2011, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has announced that its Asia Pacific properties have performed well during the same period.
The group managed to register a 10.4% increase in revenue per available room (RevPAR), with properties in the Asia Pacific region contributing the most, growing 17.7% year-on-year in terms of RevPAR gains.
During the quarter, Starwood added 21 hotels and resorts to its portfolio, including the Sheraton Shanghai Hotel and W Bali, translating to an increase of approximately 5,200 rooms.
