The UK and Ireland office of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, held a Dubai business seminar in partnership with The Islington Chamber of Commerce on 23 March at their office in London.
The objective of the seminar, was to raise awareness of business and tourism opportunities in Dubai among British business communities and help them tap those opportunities. The event was attended by 20 selected small business companies who are actively considering expanding their business into Dubai. The interactive session also included a presentation from Fayha Sultan, Marketing Manager – Commerce, DTCM UK & Ireland.

The UK is one of the major tourism source markets for Dubai. As many as 719,889 British tourists stayed in Dubai's hotels last year. Dubai is Britain's single largest trading partner in the Middle East.
DTCM's UK and Ireland office has also participated at the TTG Virtual Cruise Exhibition that took place on March 29, 2011. DTCM UK & Ireland office had a Dubai booth at the virtual online show, and attracted an impressive 50 per cent of the 520 visitors to its stand.
Travel agent visitors were able to find out more information on cruises in Dubai, ask the team any questions, and enter a competition to win a place on a familiarisation trip to Dubai. The DTCM was one of 15 exhibitors at the show.
