InterContinental Hotels understands the 'airport-taxi-hotel-taxi-airport' challenge faced by many business travellers, particularly those who jet in and out for meetings.
We know that many frequent flyers rarely get to experience the destinations they travel to for business and meetings. With this in mind, InterContinental has launched Insider Collection, a series of customised experiences offered at InterContinental hotels worldwide that connect meeting delegates with what's special about the destinations they visit.
Insider Collection draws on the local knowledge from InterContinental's global network of hotels to inject a sense of place to every corporate event - through refreshment breaks, partner venues, team-building activities, local speakers and community activities.
Each InterContinental hotel offers its own selection of experiences, so delegates leave with a better understanding of their destination and of each other.
The five elements to Insider Collection are:
Insider Breaks - Even something as essential as a refreshment break can be an opportunity for delegates to experience something more about the destination. In addition to having an InterContinental Concierge drop in to offer local recommendations over coffee, we can also arrange a traditional mille feuille pastry lesson at InterContinental Paris Le Grand, Coca-Cola break complete with Coke cupcakes at InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta or a celebration of the Patriotic Anzac Biscuit at InterContinental Wellington.
Insider Locations - We know delegates like to get out of the meeting room. Our well-connected hotel teams can offer special access to off-beat venues, including private dinners at local art galleries, drinks receptions at Wellington Arch which InterContinental London Park Lane overlooks, lunches on the Great Wall of China or meetings at the John F. Kennedy Library & Museum near InterContinental Boston.
Insider Interactions - Team building activities that showcase the unique character, heritage or geography of each destination can enrich delegates whilst they connect with each other. InterContinental can arrange in-hotel and off-site activities including a football coaching session and game with the team at InterContinental Buenos Aires, a lesson in Viennese Waltz at Elmayer Dance School, near InterContinental Vienna, or a sailing regatta on one of the world's most stunning harbours which InterContinental Sydney overlooks.
Insider Speakers - We put our local contacts to good use by offering access to well-known local speakers, such as a talk on do's and don'ts of Arabic culture by Ali Alsaloom at InterContinental Abu Dhabi, an audience with former CEO of GE Jack Welch at InterContinental Boston, or a consultation with Alex Yu, one of Hong Kong's top feng shui masters
Insider Community - We're proud of the part our hotels play to support their local communities, and offer our delegates the chance to do their bit too, whether it's helping paint a mural in a local school, building bicycles for disadvantaged children or preparing lunch in a homeless centre.
