
According to hoteliers in Phuket, the holiday destination has seen few cancellations and appears to be resilient amidst the political issues in the capital, Bangkok.
However, new bookings have eased off slightly as Phuket enters its traditional low season from mid-April to end-June.
Moving ahead, cancellations are expected in regional short-haul markets such as Hong Kong and Taiwan as travel advisories have been issued.
In addition, the recent increased airfares from Thai Airways along the Bangkok-Phuket route is likely to provide further challenges to Phuket.
