STB launches $5m iDigital scheme.

On the back of its new brand and digital strategy around 'YourSingapore', the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has launched a S$5 million iDigital scheme to enable tourism businesses to be digitally-ready and build capabilities in e-commerce.

The scheme, valid for two years from March 5, 2010, aims to uplift the technology capability of our tourism industry to enhance visitors' experience and improve business performance.

Grants shall be disbursed in two stages: 20% upfront disbursement upon project approval by STB and the balance 80% grant either upon project completion or achievement of project deliverables, whichever is later.

The scheme is opened to Singapore-registered businesses/ companies/ associations in any of the following tourism industries: Hotels; Travel Services; Attractions; Event Organizers; Tourism Shopping; and Tourism Dining. All applicants must demonstrate a clear tourism focus in their submissions.

The scheme covers the implementation of new e-commerce capability or development of new e-commerce components e.g. new B-to-B component to add on to existing B-C system or vice versa.
  • Business to Business (B-B): System to automate transactions with business partners and supply chain
  • Business to Consumer (B-C): System to enable direct sales to end consumers
The eventual site must be TrustSG-accredited. TrustSg is a nation-wide trust mark initiative by the National Trust Council to boost the electronic commerce (EC) environment in Singapore:

Qualifying Costs include: Professional services fees; Hardware & Software costs; Training; Support for 1st year of payment gateway subscription and hosting fees (if applicable), and one-time TrustSG accreditation fees.
