Macau's gaming grows 55% in January 2010.

Macau's gaming sector recorded monthly revenue of close to US$2B in January 2010, reflecting a 55% growth from the same month in 2009.1

In addition, it was reported that the 33 Macau casinos generated an average of US$53.6 million daily. Among the six licensed gaming operators, SJM and Las Vegas Sands were reported to have a market share of 30% and 22%, respectively.

In 2009, Macau generated approximately US$14.9 billion in gaming revenue, an almost 10% increase from 2008.
