Glenview and Lincolnshire Areas Receive Newest Extended-Stay Hotels.
Staybridge Suites Hotels celebrated the dual grand opening of two new hotels in the Chicago area. The new 120-room all-suite hotel in Glenview, Ill. and the 118-room all-suite hotel in Lincolnshire, Ill, are the 54th and 55th additions to the brand's growing portfolio of extended-stay hotels. Just 9 months earlier, the Staybridge Suites brand celebrated an unprecedented dual groundbreaking for these properties in September 2002.
Representatives from InterContinental Hotels Group, the owner of the Staybridge Suites brand, including the company's Americas President Stevan Porter and Staybridge Suites Senior Vice President of Brand Management Jim Anhut were in attendance at the grand-opening ceremonies on July 9, 2003.
"Working closely with Dellisart Lodging to open these two new hotels, we managed to make history for our brand twice. It is unprecedented to have not only had a dual groundbreaking but also a dual grand opening--on the same day, in the same city, by the same developer," said Jim Anhut, senior vice president and brand manager of Staybridge Suites Hotels. "It is a proud day for our brand," he added.
The hotels, which are owned by affiliates of Dellisart Lodging LLC, are operated under a license agreement with a company in the InterContinental Hotels Group. Dellisart Lodging was formed by Douglas Artusio, for the purpose of developing Staybridge Suites properties. Kiferbaum Construction Corporation built both of the properties.
"This is an exciting day for Dellisart, Lodging and we are very proud of the end result of months of hard work. We are pleased by the quality of construction and the professionalism of the Kiferbaum Construction team. They worked tirelessly with the Intercontinental Hotels Group plan review and franchise teams to keep construction on track. These two properties are showcase examples of the Staybridge Suites hotel prototype," said Douglas Artusio.
Both suburban hotels provide easy access to major area corporations and tourist attractions. The $13 million 77, 400 square foot Glenview hotel is located near the Prairie Glen Corporate Campus and is just minutes from other key area attractions. The $15-million 77,000 square foot Lincolnshire hotel is located just a few miles from prime shopping, restaurant, golf courses and tourist attractions such as Great American Theme Park.
"The addition of the Lincolnshire and Glenview properties will make 4 Staybridge Suites properties in the Chicago area," said Jim Anhut, senior vice president and brand manager of Staybridge Suites Hotels. The opening of these hotels has enabled our brand to establish a strong presence in a prime business location and continue to expand our consumer base," he added. "We are pleased with how rapidly the Staybridge Suites brand continues to grow with 55 hotels open and more than 50 in development," he added.
