The 2009/2010 edition of The Miele Guide your guide to Asia's finest restaurants will be officially launched on 30 September 2009 with glitz, glamour and gourmet offerings at The Fullerton Hotel.
To be attended by some of Asia's greatest culinary masters, best known restaurateurs and most dedicated gourmands, this gala dinner will be a celebration of Asia's vibrant culinary scene.
Throughout the month of September, weekly updates will be sent in a countdown to the launch of the second edition of The Miele Guide, when the new list of Asia's Top 20 restaurants will be announced and the rest of the 430 top restaurants across Asia will be revealed. During the gala dinner, awards will be presented to both the top chefs and restaurateurs, in recognition of their remarkable achievements and contribution to the culinary arts in Asia.
The four-course dinner will be prepared by guest chefs from across Asia, using the finest quality ingredients sponsored by Indoguna Singapore. Widely recognised as one of the leading food distributors in the country, Indoguna is committed to sourcing and procuring top grade products from all over the world. The company specialises in quality meats, seafood and fine foods.
Complementing the exquisite food on offer will be excellent wines sponsored by the Italian trade commission (Istituto nazionale per il Commercio Estero, or ICE). The ICE is the Italian government agency entrusted with the internationalisation of Italian firms and their consolidation in foreign markets. It promotes high-quality Italian products and upholds the reputation of the Made in Italy' label.
With the successful launch of its inaugural edition last year, The Miele Guide has shown itself to be a strong and diverse showcase of our region's top chefs and restaurateurs, and has set a new standard for judging dining excellence in Asia. It is Asia's first authoritative and independent annual guide to the region's best restaurants, chosen with help from Asia's most respected food writers, restaurant critics and F&B professionals, as well as public polling and incognito tastings by The Miele Guide's editorial team.
The second edition of The Miele Guide will feature a staggering 450 restaurants across Asia (130 more than were in the first edition) from a total of 16 Asian countries: Brunei, Cambodia, China (including Hong Kong and Macau), India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Nepal, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
