News of a swine flu outbreak in various parts of the world have been reported over the weekend 25-26 April 2009.

What we know so far:* 25 suspected cases have been reported in New Zealand, being students who were on a trip to Mexico. The students are now all in isolation and being tested and treated.
* The drug Tamiflu may be an effective treatment. Governments in various Asian countries are on alert and may prepare to distribute this product as needed.
*Various airports in Asia have stepped up checking of passagners, including conducting temperature tests on arriving passangers.
*Australia has reported suspected human cases of Swine flu in New South Wales and is conducting further tests.
*Up to 86 people have died and 1400 people have in Mexico where the virus originated, but no deaths have yet been reported in Asia.
