Fortune Magazine's annual list of the world's most admired companies has been issued and sadly there is only one hotel company that made it in the Top 50 and only four made it on the entire list!
Think there is still a long way to go within the hospitality.
Robyn Greenspan, Editor-in-Chief of ExecuNet reports:

How do you know if you're doing a good job?
The answer is obvious: when your customers buy your product and come back for more; when vendors and suppliers remain loyal partners; when your peers look at you and your organization as a model for business success.
For some leaders, they receive affirmation when their organizations earn a spot on Fortune Magazine's annual list of the world's most admired companies.
This year's list includes 363 companies ranked by a survey of business leaders who told the magazine which companies they admired most — regardless of industry.
Topping the list for the second year in a row is Apple, as iPods and iPhones helped the computer giant buck the sluggish sales numbers facing others in the computer market. Among the top companies, likely because of their leadership, were Berkshire Hathaway (Warren Buffett's company) and Toyota Motors (which recently named the founder's grandson president of the automaker).
Rounding out the top five were Google (due to its successful culture of innovation) and Johnson & Johnson (on the strength of such strong brands as Band-Aid and Listerine).
It's really no surprise that admiration comes from producing great products, creating powerful brands and demonstrating strong leadership. Combined, they can provide a solid framework for success no matter what products and brands your company creates.
