Australian wine export drops.
Friday, 13th February 2009
Source : Australian Wine and Brandy Corporation
Impacts of the global financial crisis continue to be felt with January MAT figures showing the volume of Australian wine exports declined 9% to 701 million litres.

The value fell 17% to A$2.46 billion on the back of an average price decline of 8% to A$3.50 per litre.

China and Hong Kong continue to provide a silver lining in Australia's wine export performance recording strong value growth in the year ended January 2009.

Driven by growth in bottled shipments, the value of shipments increased by 34% (up A$18 million) to China and by 20% (up A$6 million) to Hong Kong.
