Marriott celebrates NY with opening of Hong Kong SkyCity Marriott.

Marriott's fifth hotel in Hong Kong offers specials for grand opening and Chinese New Year.

Marriott International, Inc. announced the opening of Hong Kong SkyCity Marriott Hotel, a 658-room hotel attached to AsiaWorld Expo exhibition center at Hong Kong's International Airport. Operating under a management agreement with Union Sky Holdings, the hotel is Marriott's fifth branded property in Hong Kong. The General Manager is Bob Jensch and Director of Marketing is Maxine Howe.

In celebration of its opening, the hotel is offering an introductory package priced at HK$1,688 for a double occupancy. The promotion runs from December 15, 2008 until March 31, 2009, excluding Chinese New Year and includes welcome drinks for two at The Lounge, full buffet breakfast for two at SkyCity Bistro, complimentary shuttle service to Tung Chung shopping outlet, complimentary airport transfer to Hong Kong SkyCity Marriott and Airport Express tickets for two. The package also allows up to two children for free.

Hong Kong Sky City Marriott Hotel's ideal location, merely 10-kilometers from Hong Kong Disneyland and a 27-minute express train ride from Hong Kong's central business district, allows its guests to see all major Hong Kong attractions during the day while providing them with an escape from the bustling city in the evening. 

Perched on the banks of the South China Sea, the hotel boasts magnificent views from its oversized guest rooms that offer luxurious bedding, mini-bar, safe, internet and air conditioning on all 14 levels. Three floors are designated executive levels with three private meeting rooms, fully equipped to serve the needs of business travelers and conference attendees.

The hotel has 11 meeting rooms, totaling more than 1,300 square feet of event space. The largest room is the SkyCity Marriott Ballroom with meeting space of close to 7,000 square feet for a maximum seating capacity of 500. Premium exhibition space is available on-site with wireless internet connections. Marriott's expert meeting professionals are available to assist with all social and business functions.

With six restaurants, guests at the hotel can select from a variety of cuisines to satisfy their every taste and mood. Velocity Bar and Grill is a modern sports bar featuring hamburgers and chicken wings accompanied by a large selection of beers on tap. Chinese delicacies can be found at Marriott's famous Man Ho Restaurant offering Shanghai and Peking specialties as well as private dining rooms upon request.  Asian fare such as seared Japanese beef and soba noodles can be found at the Red Zen Noodle Bar while the Sky City Bistro offers all day dining of international favorites such as pastas, pizzas and prime rib. Relax at The Lounge with entertainment and a stunning view of the South China Sea while sipping drinks and snacking on pastries and tapas. For caffeine enthusiasts, Java+ is open for breakfast and lunch and has quick take away treats to accompany that perfect cup of espresso or latte.

Guests are never bored, being in close proximity to golf courses, bike trails, horseback riding trails, volleyball courts, and numerous water sports outlets offering water skiing, scuba diving, surfing, sailing and much more. The hotel also offers a fully equipped health club with an indoor pool and Marriott's signature full-service Quan Spa with countless treatments certain to pamper any guest.

Hong Kong Sky City Marriott Hotel, along with over 2,800 Marriott-affiliated hotels worldwide, participates in Marriott Rewards, the guest reward program that allows members to earn their choice of points or airline miles for dollar spent during each stay.
