NYC & Company - the City's official marketing and tourism organization, today announced the launch of NYC Open: Book 2008, a campaign that encourages travel to New York City beginning today through February 29.

Targeting domestic and international consumers alike, the program encourages visitors to come to New York City during this value period with the additional incentive of over 250 special offers at City hotels, restaurants, shopping establishments, cultural and entertainment venues and other service providers throughout the five boroughs.

"Winter is an ideal time to be in New York City and to enjoy the City's multitude of entertainment and cultural options," said George Fertitta, CEO, NYC & Company. "It's also a great time to take advantage of shorter lines and considerable savings."

The NYC Open: Book campaign is aimed at communicating that New York City is "open for business-book it now!" The campaign will specifically target US consumers in the Northeast/Acela Corridor-cities such as Boston, Baltimore and Washington, DC -- along with consumers in the United Kingdom and Ireland. It will reach prospective visitors through online campaigns, domestic radio spots, and outdoor advertising in select domestic and international markets.

To coincide with the new campaign, NYC & Company has also unveiled a new section on its website for the NYC Open: Book campaign, which will make it easy for consumers to navigate special offers throughout the five boroughs. Consumers can choose from several categories, including: culture and entertainment, dining and nightlife, hotels, services/tours and shopping. Prospective visitors can choose various areas of the City, including: the Bronx, Brooklyn, Chelsea, Downtown, Gramercy, Harlem, Midtown East, Midtown West, Queens, Staten Island, Union Square and Uptown.

Offers provided by NYC & Company member organizations range from "two-for- one admission" at select museums to 15% discounts at certain restaurants and "stay two nights, get the third free" at select hotels.

NYC Open: Book also offers a selection of overseas packages from tour operators in the United Kingdom and Ireland, including "purchase one tour, get the second free" and select discounts on travel deals to New York City.
