Holiday Inn Nashville-Vanderbilt has been named ''Hotel of the Year'', by the InterContinental Hotels Group.

Holiday Inn Nashville-has been designated "Hotel of the Year" by InterContinental Hotels Management Group owner of the Holiday Inn brand. More than 3,800 hotels with 563,000 guest rooms are under the IHG banner.

The West End hotel is the first Nashville facility ever selected as IHG's "Hotel of the Year." The award was announced at IHG's Annual Investors and Leadership Conference, during which the hotel was also designated an Excellent Quality Performer, the highest rating given to a Holiday Inn hotel.

"Nashville is a wonderful city in which to run a hotel," said Thom Druffel, general manager. "We train our staff to make sure every guest has clean, comfortable accommodations and is treated to the best in Southern hospitality."

Druffel said that a great hotel should be a gateway to the city – a place where guests get their first impression of Nashville. He encourages the staff to volunteer with civic and trade organizations and to learn how to promote Nashville to guests.
