A severed finger; marijuana; false teeth and an 'intimacy aid' were among the bizarre objects found left in hotel rooms, by respondents to a new survey.
Kayak.com polled 1,141 travelers, who shared naughty hotel confessions that would make the bellhop blush.
Sixty-six percent of respondents say they have booked a hotel room purely for a romantic rendezvous and more than 1 in 4 say that being in a hotel room makes them feel randy.
At what stage in a relationship is it OK to check-in together for an intimate weekend? Forty-five percent of respondents said after just three months, while a more cautious 27% would wait six months before sneaking away with a significant other. Only 9% have ever booked a hotel room by the hour.
Globetrotting celebrity couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were the most desired hotel roommates for nearly 58% of respondents, with Super Bowl/ Supermodel couple Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen coming in a distant second with less than 19%.
U.S. travelers are not quite as naughty when it comes to helping themselves to souvenirs before checking out. While 70% admitted to taking toiletries, very few took anything else from a hotel room and only 4% admitted to swiping those nice and fluffy hotel towels. More than 66% agree that the minibar is too expensive to utilize but for those that do, liquor was the most popular purchase with 13% followed by something sweet at 12% and something salty with 8% of the munchies.
When asked for the strangest thing found in a hotel room, the most frequent responses included other people (in various states of undress), bugs, toenail clippings, used prophylactics, pot, porn and poop. Believe it or not, more than one Kayaker found a prosthetic leg, severed finger and false teeth. Here are other unique finds:

Kayak.com Hotel Search Gets a FaceliftKayak's Lost & Bound Hotel Survey launches in conjunction with several enhancements to the User Interface (UI). Kayakers can now compare hotel search results using three new views:
- Kayak's Traditional List View now includes a checkbox to display or hide photos and amenities.
- Map View displays on a Google Map the top 15 hotels near a specified address. Users can choose a landmark from the drop-down menu or enter a custom address of a friend's home, wedding reception, business meeting, etc.
- Photos View displays slide shows of a property's photos for those who won't book a room sight unseen.
Hotel search results will be organized in the List View by default but Kayakers can click on the tabs to use the additional views. Kayak.com is the only travel site offering consumers a choice in how they view hotel search results. The site will be rolling out multi-view options for flights, rental car and cruises throughout the summer.
Additional UI redesign elements include a new, streamlined display of Kayak.com's award-winning sorting and filtering tools. Kayak.com's signature left-hand filters have been collapsed so more filters appear above the fold. Check boxes for star-rating, neighborhood, amenities and property type allow users to choose one option or cherry pick multiple options. Users can also email hotel details to friends by clicking on the envelope icon, and click on the pushpin icon to "pin" favorites so they remain atop the search results as they evaluate their options.
Unlike other sites, Kayak.com sorts hotels by popularity, preferences and relevance. Kayak.com users will see personalized results based on previous searches and by preferences outlined in their Kayak Profile with the most relevant hotels displayed first.
