Two more luxurious hotels and an upscale residential complex located on the crescent of The Palm Jumeirah - Dubai are being developed by the Al Osaimi Group, a Kuwait-based developer.
The company has appointed Dusit International, one of the world's most prestigious Thai hotel chains, for the management of its first venture in the UAE, which is targeted for completion in 2010.
Spanning approximately 100 million sq. ft. on the crescent of The Palm Jumeirah, the project comprises of a seven-star Luxury Hotel, five-star Family Resort and an upscale Residential complex with a combined total of 180 freehold plush townhouses and lavish penthouses.
With a traditional Indian architecture and design, the Luxury Hotel offers 116 guestrooms and suites, whilst the Moroccan-themed Family Resort has 292 rooms and suites. Both hotels will offer distinctive dining experiences, private chalets, themed landscaping, ballroom and state-of-the-art facilities among other amenities. AED 1.83 billion on building up to 10 hotels by 2015. Dubai-based United Hotels has been formed by 15 investors with an initial fund of AED 367 million. Jassim Al Bastaki, chief executive officer of United Hotels, said four partners each are from the UAE and Kuwait, three are Qataris, two Omanis, One Saudi and Bahraini each. The company will manage its own hotels under the brand name of Moon Hotels, which will be later developed into a full-scale hotel operator.
The first Moon Hotel in Dubai, a four star property, is planned to open in 2010. A boom in hotel construction activity in the UAE is creating new hotel operators. Real Estate investor and developer KM Properties recently launched hotel management firm Tamani Hotels and Resorts. ETA Star, another Dubai-based property developer, has created Star Hospitality for hotel projects.
Rani International, the real estate development subsidiary of the Saudi-based Aujan Group, announced that foundation work is well underway on its AED 800 million joint-venture project with the Oberoi Group, one of the world's luxury hotel brands.
The complex, consists of two 30-storey towers at the entrance to Dubai's Business Bay and is scheduled to be completed in the last quarter of 2009. One of the towers will be a luxury Oberoi Hotel, which will be operated by the Oberoi Group.
The luxury hotel will have 249 guest rooms and suites. The second building will be a commercial tower. This development will be a gateway to Business Bay, and is expected to be one of the most prestigious and recognizable complexes in Dubai. |
