The EyeforTravel Sales and Marketing conference series is coming to the Asia Pacific to Sydney, Australia - and is scheduled for July the 18
th and 19
th at the Marriott Hotel.
The question of motivation behind this choice of location was answered simply "Australia is the most advanced APAC travel market".
As the title suggests, this forum targets anyone whose interest is the marketing and selling of travel products. That's a broad spectrum considering that almost all executive travel roles encompass elements of either marketing or product sales, and the overlapping of job function is commonplace.
However Event Director Reece Gladstone believes the strength of the agenda is in the speakers. "The standard of speaker is excellent, and what will make the conference really work is the huge cross section of the industry that they represent. It's going to make for some very interesting discussion".
And indeed it will. With senior level speakers from global brands such as Qantas, Accor, Virgin Blue, Intercontinental Hotels, TUI, Google, Jetstar, Air New Zealand, Lonely Planet and STA Travel, expect there to be some rather compelling debate.
So why has it taken EyeforTravel eight years to introduce the Sales and Marketing series in Asia-Pacific?
"For the past three years we have staged the Travel Distribution Summit Asia in Singapore, which has experienced huge growth year upon year. Now our research has indicated that there is also a big demand for a stand alone, regionally focused sales and marketing conference" said Mr Gladstone.
Its fair to say that the role of the sales and marketing professional has undergone some interesting developments in the recent past, particularly with the increased importance of Web 2.0 and the introduction of social networks. The conference looks at both these and other important marketing issues including search marketing, affiliate strategies, branding, CRM, and integrating offline and online marketing channels.
