Marché International has just doubled the floor space for its gastronomy facilities in Hamburg, Germany.
The Swiss company is now operating the largest interconnected restaurant facility at any European airport.
The Swiss gastronomy company Marché International is continuing to expand its presence at the Hamburg Airport in Germany. In public bidding for the Airport Plaza which is still currently under construction, the company was successful in clearly winning the contract over a wide range of notable and strong competitors, because of its individualized and high-quality gastronomy concept.
Marché International was awarded the contract to operate a 2,000 m² dining facility that is scheduled to open for business at the end of 2008. "This means that our company now has the largest connected gastronomy facility at any single airport across Europe," said the Marché International CEO Oliver Altherr. The contract for the cooperation for the facility between Marché International and the airport operating company has now been signed. A "Cindy's Diner", for example, along with a bar, a sports pub and a Mövenpick Coffee Bar with its own roasting equipment are all being planned for the Food Court of the new Airport Plaza, between Terminals 1 and 2.
Marché International will also operate a Gosch Sylt Restaurant under license. This expansion of the floor space will mean that the number of needed staff will increase to approximately 200. Manfred Schmid is the responsible Director for the Marché International outlets.
Successful cooperation continues It was not only the excellent cooperation that already existed between Marché International and the Airport Hamburg that tipped the scales in favor of the Swiss company. Marché International has been operating a 1,800 m² dining facility at the airport ever since 2005, along with a Mövenpick Restaurant with up-front-cooking and various bars. Freshness of the products and the manner in which they are prepared under the watchful eyes of the guests have always been the focus of attention for Marché International.
Marché International's concepts are successful around the world and always promise a memorable dining experience at the highest possible level of quality. Fresh, hand-picked ingredients and the relaxing ambiance in which they are prepared totally satisfy not only the rational demands of today's modern traveler, but also their emotional, subjective expectations.
Our guests can select from a wide selection of top quality, crispy fresh products and then experience, right before their very eyes, their imaginative preparation. They can smell the breads baking in the ovens, hear the sizzling in the frying pans and watch as fresh juice is pressed out of a mountain of fruit. The offerings are constantly being adjusted to match the seasonal and regional availability of the products.
This offering is exactly what many of our guests, many of whom may be in a hurry, have come to expect and can be adapted not only for individual guests, but also to large groups. Speedy and uncomplicated, relaxed service gives our guests more time and leisure to enjoy the ambiance, their meal and their beverages. More expansion planned at other German airports Aside from the Airport Hamburg, Marché International is also present at the airports in Nuremberg, Berlin/Schönefeld, Leipzig und Hanover. Two more restaurants at large German airports are scheduled to be opened this year.
