Hilton Hotels Corporation today announced the signing of its new property, the Conrad Abu Dhabi, marking the luxury brand's entry into the U.A.E capital.

Due to open in the fourth quarter of 2009, the hotel will become the Hilton Family's fourth property in Abu Dhabi, and is a highly anticipated addition to the leading hotel brand's portfolio of 15 established properties in the Arabian Peninsula. The Conrad Abu Dhabi is owned by Mazrui Holding and will be managed by Hilton Hotels Corporation.

We are committed to the future growth of Abu Dhabi, just as we did 35 years ago when we became the first international hotel chain to operate in this region," said Matt Hart, President and Chief Operating Officer of Hilton Hotels Corporation at the signing ceremony at the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Chairman of the ADTA and the Tourism & Development Investment Company (TDIC).

The TDIC manages ADTA's tourism assets and has partnered Mazrui Holding in the Lagoon project which houses the new Conrad Abu Dhabi. Located on the Abu Dhabi Corniche and clad in curved glass, the striking hotel will open with 380 guest rooms, each occupying a minimum floor space of 50 square metres, in addition to 80 serviced apartments situated around a private lagoon.

The hotel will offer an exciting and truly exceptional range of restaurant concepts and meeting rooms, in addition to its luxurious Spa, health club and private beach. Car parking for 1,800 vehicles will also be provided.

The Conrad Abu Dhabi will be an outstanding addition to the growing Conrad portfolio, with plans for the Conrad Dubai also well under way. This follows the recent announcements from Conrad, including the luxury Conrad Resort & Spa in Koh Samui, Thailand, the Conrad Shanghai and the re-brand of the Hilton Maldives Resort & Spa.
