Hilton's fifth hotel in China and Hiltons' presence in China is set to grow aggressively, in the next three years with more than 8,000 rooms in our development pipeline

Hilton Hefei has opened its doors to offer corporate travellers and the citizens of Hefei an urban getaway in the heart of the city.

Koos Klein, President Hilton Hotels Middle East and Asia Pacific said, "This is a proud moment, marking the opening of the fifth Hilton Hotel in China. Hilton Hotels' presence in China is set to grow aggressively in the next three years with more than 8,000 rooms in our development pipeline. We will expand through our luxury brand, Conrad Hotels, our flagship Hilton brand and in the mid-market sector through Hilton Garden Inn".

"The Hilton Hefei is a symbol of our commitment to this market, and its iconic design heralds the new direction of the Hilton brand in China, appealing not only to our loyal customers but also to a younger, discerning set of travellers," Mr. Klein said.

The striking 26-storey Hilton Hefei is conveniently located in the city's new Railway Business Development Area along Shengli Road, three minutes from the new Hefei Railway Station and twenty minutes from Luogang Airport.

Designed by world-renowned Palmer & Turner Architects, Hilton Hefei encapsulates a contemporary design accented with traditional Chinese motifs. The façade of the building is tempered glass, revealing a window to the 4-storey lobby that is filled with light and complemented with earthy warm colours.

The 561-room property offers spacious guest rooms with expansive views over the city as well as deluxe bathrooms with rain showers, high-speed broadband internet access and flat screen LCD television sets with international satellite programs.

A major attraction of the hotel is its 6,000 square meter spa and health club facility, Spa@Hilton, located on the fourth and fifth floors. Overlooking landscaped rooftop gardens, the spa has a fully-equipped gym with cardiovascular and state-of-the-art workout equipment, an indoor swimming pool, two tennis courts, a spa cafe, beauty salon, relaxation lounges with private TVs, twelve deluxe private spa suites and twenty six treatment rooms, offering a full range of beauty and spa treatments.

Designed to cater to top level meetings, incentives and conferences, Hilton Hefei combines a 1,600 square meter column-free ballroom (a space which covers close to four professional league basketball courts) with the latest audiovisual technology and simultaneous translation facilities. There are 13 large Hilton Meeting rooms, an Executive Boardroom, and a 24-hour manned business center. For the MICE segment, Hefei's nearby recreation facilities include hiking trails, Zi Peng National Park and a golf course, as well as local cultural attractions such as Lord Bao's Temple, Li Hong Zhang's former residence and the famous San He Old Town.

The hotel also has three contemporary restaurants and an entertainment complex with four lounge bars, called SOHO.

Commenting on the opening of the Hilton Hefei, Luc Bollen, General Manager, said, "Hefei is a thriving industrial centre for Anhui and plays host to savvy business travellers, who expect first-rate services. The team at Hilton Hefei is excited by the opportunity to redefine the standard for well-appointed hotels in Hefei and will deliver on our commitment to create memorable hospitality experiences for visitors to the city."
